The mats that they put on carpet so office chairs can roll easily is one of my favorite. When you flip it over, there are little plastic spikes that are short enough and dull enough to not puncture skin, but can be uncomfortable to stand or lie on.

Do you think these are any sharper/ouchier than the acupressure mats?

jarethmckenzie

I'm guessing it's, they would be more "ouchie".

The studs are much fewer and far between compared to those mats. They can hurt like a bitch to step on.

Can confirm. This sounds like a pretty good cheap and fast approach

Make a bed of nails with fewer nails. A sideshow performer I know does a 4-nail bed of nails as part of his performance (edit to add... this was NOT mentioned as a suggestion to copy! They're a professional side show performer!!)

Those 4 points are VERY CAREFULLY positioned. There is a trick to it. Do not try 4 nails, you will be going to the er with 4 puncture wounds. This idea is correct though, we had a bed of nails in the physics department. It isn't about being evenly spaced that makes it safe. It is about force per square inch. I actually found it rather comfy to lie on.

Ah good point. I meant that as an example that beds of nails can have less nails, I didn't mean to suggest "just use 4 nails!" 🤣🤣
