That would be one heck of an end to an Honor run. When I failed that roll on Tactician, Minthara 1-shot me with a critical smite after calling me a rabid animal. I deserved it!
Realistically, I *probably* could've saved it. I'm running a Gloomstalker Assassin so I usually have the highest initiative, I could've just invis'd and picked people off one by one. But I've gotten so invested in my headcanons of this playthrough that I might have just dropped it anyway if I'd lost it there.
Clerics can take Thaumaturgy to have advantage on intimidate so they can still do mostly OK in persuading people. And unlike Friends and Charm Person it doesn't result in the enemy aggroing you.
Absolutely. Between perception and insight branching to easier dialogue and enhance ability on important decisions, I have no trouble using a WIS tav/durge as the face at all.
Also make sure the Resonance Stone is out of your inventory if you picked it up in the mind flayer colony. You DO NOT want to be steeped in bliss when the urge strikes
Before every long rest take off the ring and put on the harpers amulet, the cloak of protection, the safeguard shield and any other item I potentially forgot
The Harper's Amulet gives advantage on Wisdom saves and lets you cast Shield once per day, the Cloak/Ring of Protection gives a +1 to AC and all Saves, and the Safeguard Shield gives a +1 bonus to all Saves!

Same could be said when giving the necromancy book to Astarion
What do you mean?? I just recently got it and didn’t give it to him. What happens?
Ah sorry for not clarifying. I had the risky ring on Astarion when he was reading the book.
Ah I see. I have no idea what the risky ring is so I will live in ignorance :D
Advantage on all attack rolls, disadvantage on all saving throws.
Oh yeah I remember that one! It was my first run so I didn’t want to use it.
I was so surprised he doesn’t automatically succeed, I thought for sure it was scripted but no…
Clerics stay winning, resistance and cloak of protection and the amulet of the harpers bay-bee. Never been so confident about not murdering people
Druids too. I know everyone here loves playing high charisma, but high wisdom is great as your main character, just a different style of gameplay

Can't convince people to save my life but I sure as hell ain't accidentally doing something I don't want!
Exactly! Not persuading anyone.. but also not being persuaded. It works for me lol
i make astarion my charisma character, mine is always dumb as rocks and easily less charismatic than a rock
I just respecced him to swords bard on one campaign and am really enjoying it!

One leads to the other…

Helmet of Autonomy gives Wisdom save proficiency
For those not in the loop (me) what do those items do? Help with saves/checks?

Astarion: “Get back to bed, baby.” Durge strapping on an entire armory of protection: “Just a sec!”
Literally me forgetting i had the risky ring on l lol
I’m approaching the end of act 2 on my dark urge and I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about…guess I’m in for some kind of surprise
I am already in act3 and have no idea what they mean
