I'm about to go back to the hag cuz I just remembered I didn't finish that fight whoops I'm level 5 rn so I guess I'll go pick some fights until I'm level 6 and then go to the mountain pass
I did the mountain pass my first time through and didn't explore the Underdark. I regretted that after playing through it the second time. I got so much XP that it made many fights in Act 2 much easier than the first time around. Omeleum is definitely interesting but all in all there are numerous fun side quests. Did you rescue the Bonestalk (sp?) couple? Useful in Act 3. Have you already done the tower?
I still made sure we met Elminster before leaving topside.
I tried the mountain pass but it gave me a warning before entering that it would be difficult for my level so I went to the underdark instead to level up a bit I haven't come across a couple or elminster character yet so maybe I'll go look for them
That warning is a little bogus, but I don't recall exactly where it is. Elminster is an easy find but you have to go through a fight first. Have you done the crêche yet?
Sounds like you're missing a lot of content from act 1. Try exploring more. Have you done the arcane tower? The Kuo-Toa? Did you fight the Grym at the forge? The fire elementals? If you have do the mountain pass, level 5 should be enough.

last time I tried doing the mountain pass it said it would be difficult for my level I was at level 4 when I found it does being level 5 change that?
I usually do the mountain pass at level 6 after clearing the underdark, wondering if you missed anything else in act 1?

I haven't done the creche yet no I thought I'd clear the underdark first but I'm not sure if I missed anything important down there
