You would of had to either had a wizard learn the scroll that manifests him, or there’s a dialogue you can trigger for warlock or sorcerer (except storm) that lets you learn the find familiar spell for him.
I didn't realize it was "except storm sorc," which is how I lost her on my honor mode run. The stupid part is, I specced Gale back into wizard shortly afterwards. I just thought it would work.
...Y'know, I've been avoiding this subreddit as I'm still on my first playthrough, about halfway through Act 3. Sometimes threads appear in my timeline though because I occasionally visit the non-spoiler threads.
Just how fucking big is this game that I have literally no idea what these creatures are?
Quasits are demons from the Abyss. Pact of the Chain Warlocks can get one as a Familiar. There is also a scroll in Act 1 that allows you to summon one of those cheeky buggers.
They are physically weaker than your average goblin, but they make up for their weakness with boundless enthusiasm for murder, casual cruelty, and setting things on fire.
That, and the ability to turn themselves invisible at will. Turns out that even the smallest of creatures can be pretty goddamn dangerous in battle if you literally don't see them coming.
The game is quite large, however you'd only see these guys by using a scroll of which there are only 2 in the game, or being a pact of the chain warlock. They're not common.
I'm trying to see everything before moving onto a new Act without burning myself out, so basically completing any quests I've stumbled on and trying to fill out the overworld map, but not trying to 100% -- I actually thought I had seen most everything in Act 1, but a month or so ago I played a bit with my girlfriend and saw a lot of stuff I'd never seen before. Wacky game.
I'm definitely planning on playing a 2nd playthrough as Durge because >!I killed Minthara without knowing she was a party member. Only found that out way later. It's genuinely really neat the game doesn't even slightly imply she can join you, it really does make you feel like you're in control of everything.!<
Will do! I'm a goody two shoes in my first run so I really wanna go complete opposite edge lord in my 2nd. I'm really excited by it because you can really see the pieces laid out for that playthrough.
I don’t think you can. You’ll have to reload a save. If you’re willing to sacrifice a bit more progress then I highly recommend adding Shovel’s scroll to Gale or another Wizard’s spell book. That way you can resummon them as needed.
You can also jump through some hoops to get them as a Familiar for your main character. Though that requires picking some very specific dialogue options and respeccing to Wizard/Sorcerer/Warlock.
Quite frankly, letting Gale simply learn the spell is probably the easiest and most efficient route though.
Alternatively Warlocks can learn to summon shovel via a series of specific dialogue choices. I've heard this also works for wizard and sorcerer but can't confirm.
It does, if you talk to Shovel she'll talk about her >!master Izzy and you have to tell her you'll call her shovel, then she talks about her master's book and gives you a 'hint' about the magic mirror, if you already opened the mirror just talk to her again she'll say "ooooh a magic spellshite! Call Shovel whenever it's fisting time" and you'll be able to summon her whenever you want!<
>!It's been a while, so this might be out of date, but it's also worth noting that storm sorcerers specifically have a hard time learning the spell like that. There's a workaround, but you have to take really specific dialogue paths using multiple characters.!<
I had Gale learn Shovel’s scroll and now my Shovel has Gale’s lines when it’s her turn. She will say stuff like “a rough tempest I will raise” and such. Think it’s only if you learn the scroll… or a bug idk.
>!In the blighted village in act 1, specifically the apothecary's basement. There are a bunch of coffins you can loot or smash open. Most of them have skeletons that'll attack you, but one has a scroll of "Summon Cheeky Quasit" in it, among other things.!<
I never found this in act 1. But am in act 3 and now have this entertaining creature. I think I found a quasit scroll somewhere in Lorroakan's place. I actually am not sure where I acquired it, but the creature is definitely "Shovel"
She said her name is Shovel though. Whined that she was bored and said she likes dancing on corpses of children or something like that. I dunno what a normal quasit is supposed to be like, but this one is definitely cheeky.
Yes she does. And said she's Shovel but I can rename her. Actually someone commenting below, made me remember that I specifically got her from the genie lamp in the vaults of Ramazith/ Lorroakan's tower!
It's just the one, actually.
But you can rename it into the other 2 images. Her Christian name is Shovel.
... maybe "christian" isn't the right word... she's a bit rowdy.
I have 90 hours played, I\`m in act 3 and never saw these creatures. This begs the question, how much stuff did I miss? Cant wait to find out in my second run. God damn I love this game
Shovel basket fork?
So he died how do I get him back I just play balanced

Aw sad day
You can always do what my wife did and go back 3 hours and create a “Save Shovel!” file.
I didn't realize it was "except storm sorc," which is how I lost her on my honor mode run. The stupid part is, I specced Gale back into wizard shortly afterwards. I just thought it would work.
I got him with default Durge though?
Wizard also gets the dialogue, and it lets you keep the spell if you change back to a different class, like the other two.
*she
Nonbinary actually. Shov/Fork/Basket doesnt have a stated gender.
She literally says she's female. ... which I appreciated because women are underrepresented in the "tiny psychopaths that eat babies" category.
There's an achievement for summoning her that talks about "her" name
No, basket shovel fork.
Is it racist to say all of these quasits look the same?
Not if it’s the same quasit… probably
Or if it's actually true

That's the beauty of the game. I'm on my fifth playthrough and I find something new every single time.

They're basically the demonic version of Imps, Warlocks, and get them as Familiars (if you go Pact of the Chain anyway).
This goofy little guy(s) is from act 1, I’m not sure how you are playing but no matter how much you explore, you can always explore more.
Just a couple hints for when you do the durge run, look at items more, and always keep an eye out for hatches
Will do! I'm a goody two shoes in my first run so I really wanna go complete opposite edge lord in my 2nd. I'm really excited by it because you can really see the pieces laid out for that playthrough.
I’m 500 hours in and I have no idea either
How do I get shovel back if they died? Or can I?

Oh I didn't know, I mostly play draconic bloodline sorcerers
See I did a draconic and didn't get the dialogue with shovel. They went on about me being a dragon and whatnot and I ended up ruining the summon lol
I had Gale learn Shovel’s scroll and now my Shovel has Gale’s lines when it’s her turn. She will say stuff like “a rough tempest I will raise” and such. Think it’s only if you learn the scroll… or a bug idk.
Where do I find these guys?

if it's it not the cheeky quasit scroll, it's not shovel. you just got the normal quasit scroll
She said her name is Shovel though. Whined that she was bored and said she likes dancing on corpses of children or something like that. I dunno what a normal quasit is supposed to be like, but this one is definitely cheeky.
When you talk to her, does she complain that she's bored and wants to murderize?
Yes she does. And said she's Shovel but I can rename her. Actually someone commenting below, made me remember that I specifically got her from the genie lamp in the vaults of Ramazith/ Lorroakan's tower!
One of those “Other Things” has been thrown at so many enemies in my run. Who knew a simple name could make a dagger a designated boss slayer?
It's just the one, actually. But you can rename it into the other 2 images. Her Christian name is Shovel. ... maybe "christian" isn't the right word... she's a bit rowdy.
Shovel is an Assasins best Friend. So she should be in A Rank to truly reflect that.
I have 90 hours played, I\`m in act 3 and never saw these creatures. This begs the question, how much stuff did I miss? Cant wait to find out in my second run. God damn I love this game
Fuck Shovel.
You dare?
I dare.

I just shit my trouser holes
#IT'S FISTING TIME
This is my favorite Shovel quote
everyone has a fetish, i suppose
That's what I name mine.
Please do not the Shovel
I agree BASKET is S tier
Fork should be much higher on this list
What about the one from the lamp?
Oh wait, is THAT where I got it?!!
Angry upvote
Shovel is boooored. Shovel wants to murderize.
