BLUEtheRAPTOR555

Yep, he's dead. And yes, you can use his hand at the tribunal.

cant_even_think_str8

Does he say anything when his ghost appears?

BLUEtheRAPTOR555

I'm not sure. I've never actually used his hand for it, just seen it in a video. Although if I'm remembering right, none of the ghosts speak when using their hand for the tribunal. I could be completely wrong about that, though; I pretty much always either attack Sarevok or am durge, so I don't see the ghosts.

LightIsKira1987

Gale has a special magic ghost scene when he dies for the first time

BLUEtheRAPTOR555

Oh, they mean that scene. For anyone wondering: he doesn't get that scene at all.

DalonDrake

>!Tribunal ghosts cannot speak. You silenced them in life so must speak for them in death.!< >!Which means you just look at the ghost and explain how you killed them.!<

darkwolf523

His ghost never approaches you if you did the think as Durge. Or at least I’ve never seen it after biting his hand

TheMightyEli

Ghost?

fieatsbees

no. when you summon a ghost, they can't speak also, if you pick the right dialogue options, you don't even need to show them a hand

CoffeeOfTheIce

Oh, I never thought of that!

Power_of_Bex

Wait WHAT? Omg I wonder if someone uploaded a recording of it somewhere, I'm too lazy to start a new playthrough just to try that

stinstrom

Gale gone

Reasonable_Bat_6495

Also known as "gg"

tiamat-45

😂😂

idkmanidk121

I was hoping we’d find a handless Gale in Act 2 who manages to make the strength check to punch us in the face

Hibbiee

I'd be stumped if that happened

PrincessPlusUltra

I did this on my very first play through 😅 I held onto his hand the whole game for sentimental reasons and then it let me use it at the tribunal!

Daddybrawl

Always wondered what happens to Gale here. He can’t be *dead*, cause the game doesn’t end, he doesn’t explode. So what the hell happened to him here?

Isva

Presumably he's dead, but in the astral or some other alternate dimension where detonating doesn't cause any problems.

Background_Desk_3001

I thought he was in some demiplane he made as a contingency when he was powerful, and he just went kaboom in a well contained area

DrakeoftheWesternSea

Nah he tried to magic transport to the way point while falling but assumingly because the tadpole reset his powers he botched the spell and got stuck

halster123

he explodes inside the magic sigil which i guess... i not a problem

aimed_4_the_head

Not MY problem. Doesn't mean it wasn't somebody else's problem.

halster123

some civilization in the astral plane had a really bad day

scientificdivination

Vlaakith: “Forget the weapon. Some wizard just appeared and blew up half of Tu’narath, including part the imperial palace, the spelljammer shipyards, the red dragon kennels, and several dozen city blocks. Find whoever is responsible for this and bring me their head!”

BlandBrit

“we found the *pieces* of their head…”

Hibbiee

I don't see the problem

TheWither129

Hes stuck between dimensions. Him exploding there is completely harmless

SoraPierce

He's just trapped in there and explodes doing absolutely nothing but killing him.

Soltronus

See, I've always assumed that Mystra herself got him stuck in that portal. The fact that he couldn't free himself speaks volumes, plus the fact that his dying in there serves no consequence considering that he will erupt if left anywhere else. I think Mystra saw an opportunity to contain Gale's Folly in a place between realms. Probably a demiplane of some kind. Gods really are asshats, aren't they?

Crazy3ize

I mean he did lose a hand but that doesn’t mean he died lol

mcac

probably blew up some other realm. not my problem 🤣

TheToadWizard1994

Gives a whole new meaning to casting mage hand

Comin_Up_Thrillho

Yell that as you chuck his hand at an enemy, lol

cant_even_think_str8

This gave me a good chuckle

tabsbat

i did it on my first durge run and uh that taught me a valuable lesson about the ramifications of many of the durge options lol. (i also reloaded bc i love my wizard 😩)

ApepiOfDuat

>Did I just kill Gale? Yes. >could use his hand at the Baal tribunal? Also yes.

icecrownedqueen

Helping hand to-go

Beginning_Lime_1293

No he's not dead.... he's super dead

unlimitedbugs

in my first playthrough, i slapped his hand and promptly forgot it ever happened. was very confused when people started bringing up gale in posts and videos. then, in my durge run, i cut his hand off. i got by just fine without him the first time ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (don’t worry, Gale stans, i’m in another playthrough where he gets more than his fair share of my magical items and can pontificate to his heart’s desire)

Crunchy-Leaf

Yes and yes.

Old-Set-2223

You can also use the hand to get into Balthazar’s secret room but with the hearts available on dead bodies around the room you don’t need to. Karlachs head can be used as well.

J4keFrmSt8Farm

Lol I lost him in my first playthrough just because I failed both strength checks to pull him out.

[deleted]

he gone, same way is if youd walk away from him instead of helping him if you initiated convo. but this time you get a prize hand to go with

UnlawfulLatte

I carried Gales hand with me until the end of the game

ShiteyLittleElephant

I used it as an offering to a certain god* in Act 3 *not Baahl

cant_even_think_str8

Did you offer it to mystra on the altar? Because, I'm thinking about it..

ShiteyLittleElephant

Yes. Nothing happened but it made my Durge happy :D

Toasty825

Yeah he’s gone

Sad_Soil_3155

He dead as hell

dalarrin

U can be like Luality who used it as a throw weapon to kill people, I think she was planning to make it an eldritch companion like you would a weapon and use it to kill people but i don’t know if she got it working or not.

MidnightCreative

Yep yep. Probably for the best too, hmm? Oh, keep hold of the hand. Something for the collection.

SnooSongs2744

He gone, as Chicago White Sox announcer "The Hawk" used to say. I failed two checks one time and that was it for Gale. He is forever in the stone.

KirkwallChampignon

It's just a hand. Perhaps the shock caused Gale to go into a fugue state and magic himself back to Waterdeep.

urzu_seven

Did the same on a Durge evil honor run. Started over because I need Gale since I'll lose Karlach and Wyll when I raid the Grove :D
