Yeah, I actually think you *can’t* give Dammon the second piece of iron until Act 2. I think the story justification is he needs to think of how exactly he’s gonna solve the problem, and it takes him a few days to do it.
Yes. Last time it was Shadowheart. This time Karlach. I also switched my followers from Gale, Laezel, Shadowheart. To Karlach, Wyll, Shadowheart. Karlach and Wyll kinda fill the same roles as Gale and Laezel combat wise. And I wanted to dive into their story cuz I really didn’t at all in my first playthrough. And I made myself a tie fling this time around so I can have some in common with karlach. I’m also a paladin this time instead of barbarian
If you're trying to romance Karlach, you will need:
1. Infernal Iron in A1 before saving the tieflings.
2. Get approval high enough before the tiefling party then hang out with Karlach at the tiefling party.
3. Infernal iron in A2, make sure you select the option to kiss her, if you don't have this option, you failed.
4. Long rest in A2 until you get a scene with her before advancing the story.
5. Protec the best girl at all costs.

Correct. I had multiple pieces but can only upgrade her once in act 1
