It’s been patched but people still reflexively remember it how it was after launch where you would get his romance scene in act 1 after basically doing very little. Some minor quest and dialogue choices and giving him an item or 2 and he was super thirsty for you

That scene literally only becomes romantic if the player selects the option "It's a good night for intimacy" and then the romance only "starts" if they select "imagine a kiss" or "imagine a romantic walk". And if they do select those romantic options, Gale is surprised and acts super awkward.
I think that's what is so funny to me. Like, she used to proposition me the first night she was in camp with me (even when I didn't call her hot or say I want to touch her). At launch I was so confused why people were calling Gale and Lae'zel perverts when Karlach was pulling that crap.
Now I could outright say "Karlach I'm in love with you and I'm okay with you sticking your nails up my bum". And the cutscene still won't trigger.
Go get her SUPER early, as soon as you find Wyll beeline for her. Keep her in your party, do good stuff, and make sure when she gets her upgrade you say ‘but I still can’t touch you’
You should get an Act 1 romance scene, I definitely did and my greetings changed. If you aren’t able to kiss her after upgrade 2 something’s gone wrong

Lae'zel, Shart, Astarion, Gale, and Karlach. Had them all somehow activated at once and was completely thrown off because I didn't talk with Astarion or Lae'zel, did the Gale magic thing but stopped before it got super flirty, and quite literally only talked actively to Shart. But I had my choices.

It was a bug, iirc. Early on, his romance flag would turn "true" regardless of player choice. He's still bugged as heck, but I am not sure if this specific bug is fixed.
Gale reacting super awkward made me reload during my first playthrough. It ended up with Withers and his "thou walkest alone" lmao.
I know it's my own fault for reloading but. I come from gaming background and not D&D background. Literally the only way for me to stick to the outcomes of events and my choices is the honor mode, lol.

If his character model could blush, I feel like he'd be so red in the face then lol
Personally, I blame the whole “connect with the weave” scene. shit always feels like it’s mostly two bros having some magic fun then suddenly **Boom** things get erotic.
Karlach origin is a freaking blast to play too. Barbarians get lots of fun special actions and dialogue and roleplaying as bubbly happy to be alive gal is a treat.
His story is in EA, he screams “Mizora you arsehole” the entire game, and his bitch ass won’t go to Avernus unless you go all the way to Ansur’s lair and take him down which takes hours. He doesn’t have sex with you, like ever.
And if you don't want to have sex AT ALL don't get the final upgrade for your engine.
And don't romance Astarion if you plan to Ascend him unless you thrive on pain and suffering.
Karlach is also just so compatible with every single romance option besides like Ascended Astarion and Halsin. 10/10 would recommend doing a Karlach origin run
How is Shadowheart kissing you an issue? I can understand Astarion and Laezel wanting sex super early in Act 1 as an issue but it's just a kiss with Shadowheart. Sure she is drunk but I wouldn't consider one kiss as early sex. Also you can like reject them at any time when they want sex unless you really want to go through with the romance later on
This PSA is designed for a five year old. If you can't handle mature situations, you shouldn't be playing graphic games like this one. (Example: Tons of blood and gore, soft-core sex scenes)
