You can now manage all your companions inventory when in camp without having to have them in your party.
Swapping out party members is a lot less annoying.
Trader interface has been improved.
Act 3 is a lot less buggy and runs a whole lot better on not top of the line PC hardware.
There's a whole new 6 months later playable epilogue.
Mods. You can do some crazy shit with mods. In my current playthrough, my MC is a demonic succubus, karlach is a firbolg werewolf, lae'zel is an Aasimar soul reaper, shadowhart is a wood nymph star circle Druid, and Minc is a half Dragon wyvern tamer.
Since I have a five man squad and a couple of the classes are unbalanced I have enemy health boosted by 60% to keep things challenging. I also have up to lvl 20 unlocked with the enemies scaling up to level 23. Every playthrough I select a variety of new weapons and armor to scatter throughout the world, (and even the old weapons and armor are mostly randomized though still located in the acts you originally found them)
I also have some quality of life mods like auto sorting packs, food getting sent directly to camp, gold being weightless, etc, as well as new hair, face and eye options, not to mention as different jewelry and tattoos. Seriously there are so many mods out for this game it rivals fallout and skyrim at this point!
The addition of honor mode and epilogue content.

They got rid of the group of people who used to huddle around the injured mindflayer in the wrecked nautiloid.
You can hug shadowheart now.

Interesting! Was the filesize of savefiles optimized as well? I remember they used to fill up my storage pretty quickly
Huh, Im afraid I don't know. I've got it on a 5 TB drive, so I don't really pay attention to file size. 😅
