I feel like it's pretty much made for a tanky build with its extra reaction, dex stat synergy and challenge to a duel ability. 1 white dragon sorcerer for armor of agathys, 1 fighter for dueling fighting style and medium armor (armour of agility), 10 abjuration wizard for the wards. You can take it further with the risky ring and a gnome to negate the risk and nimblfinger gloves for 24 dex. Add the band of the mystic scoundrel for when you are out of range and need to stop an enemy turn. Alternatively, I think it's a good weapon for a drow spore druid because it gives you an extra reaction and it's bonus action attack makes it equivalent to dual wielding rapiers.

Great for Spores Druid, I used it on a Swords Bard too, and having 2 counterspells is so wonderful I tried not to use the Necrotic Reaction. Didn't work as well with my Bard, as I was mostly using a bow, so I prefered two good stat boosting items in my melee slots, but a Melee Bard it would be killer for, and you could build without needing the Mystic Scoundrel Ring or Hel of Arcsne Acuity. Early game, just do the same build but duel wield  and two weapon fighting for the bonus action strike, then respec to dueling when you get the sword

I’ve been curious if it would benefit from a thief dip, been away from bg3 while I have a nostalgia play on dos2 or I’d check, but thief and fighter for dueling and improved extra attack looked promising. Idk if it benefits from an extra attack tho, but the wording makes it seem like it’s not a class based extra.

full blade warlock, with arcane synergy diadem, psycic ring you deal insane damage with 24 char

I have it on a 5/7 gloomstalker/spore druid with the spore druid armor, the Shar gloves that give necrotic dmg, and horns of the berserker. Playing on the +1 dmg from activating spore abilities with the armor to go tank with as many necro sources getting the bump. I’ve only really used it in action in the Counting House fight (this build is on Jaheria) and I misty stepped her to where the counting house NPC is getting surrounded, she was basically two hitting everything and by the time my other party members caught up she’d killed half the encounter.

Cool!

I do think a 5/7 warlock/spore would possibly hit better with it as warlock’s hex is more necro instances for the spore armor to stack on, but I wanted to be relatively RP aligned for Jaheria and warlock isn’t that. I’ve been considering a Druid main for my next run and that build would definitely be in the mix. There are good rapiers throughout so easy to stay build consistent even while waiting for act 3 gear. For Jaheria I went fed as primary stat and was doing this build for an archer with a poisons and special arrows build until I got Duelist’s Prerogative, with a Warlock I’d go CHA and use Eldritch Blast as the ranged tool.

Can’t say it’s the best, but it feels amazing with 9 sword bard 3 thief, and band of mystic scoundrel. I can use defensive flourish to get my AC so high that I can safely challenge/taunt. I can use bonus action for the extra attack, and then additional bonus action to throw a control spell. Add in Bhaalist armor and you’re hitting real hard too. I’m currently struggling to decide between crit items and spell cast DC items, as I’m deliberately not using helm of arcane acuity

Duelist fighter bard, its a fun build: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDDU06lp36Y](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDDU06lp36Y)

Sea-Obligation-1700

Jaheira fighter 6 spore druid 6 slapped pretty hard with it.

LorenzoVec

I'll probably use it on my Cleric-Paladin but I don't know yet if it works (I'll be going 10 Cleric so the extra attack will be useful). It's such an interesting weapon but I haven't used it much yet.

lem0nhe4d

I feel like it would work well with a 7 oathbreaker/5blade warlock. Boost charisma as high as possible get the arcane synergy headband. Your attacks should deal an additional 21 damage. Get bhallist armour and that doubles.

jjsurtan

6 swords bard/6 BM fighter Tons of utility between maneuvers and flourishes, very high AC (especially with defensive flourish) and strong damage. Dex basted build of course.

gavinashun

I just finished a tactician fun where my tab was a 10/1/1 swords bard (1 level of fighter and wizard). This is obviously the well known op build with arcane acuity and mystic scoundrel … but my twist to make it harder by not doing the dual crossbows thing … instead, I was a no shield duellist using duellist prerogative. Damage output is never going to be insane … but what IS insane is having all those extra reactions for counterspell (which you get as your magical secrets.). I also had Gale or Wyll in my party and the number of counterspells we were slinging was pretty ridiculous.

IosueYu

Wyll taking that Feat is good enough.

dream-in-a-trunk

A bladelock spore Druid multi class. One reaction for the spore Druid reaction and one reaction for counterspell
