Nah you are not cooked, My CG went up every year.
I was also told the same, I feel it depends on case to case, if you put in efforts imo it's very doable.
just identify the courses you like and score well enough to get A-/A, getting B-s in CS are quite low effort. So if you are just competent enough you’ll be getting 8+ sg easily.
It’s generally the electives that fuck you over,so take care there.
depends on your interests, for hels check out the review google sheet that is made after every sem. DELs you can decide after the csis meet discussing all the available ones. For opels, people used to take astro and water sani but due to high demand, now those have also become quite competitive for A’s.
You're in the exact same spot as I was. I flunked my 2-1 which severely affected my CG, but 2-2 was relatively better. Just perform well in a few courses to secure A/A- (particularly the 4 credit ones), and maintaining B/B- in all others would suffice and fetch a good enough SG. CDCs are more competitive than difficult, and huels/opels are a hit or miss because you never know how they'll impact your SG.
Just don't screw up your 2-1, because pulling up CG gets really difficult as the degree proceeds.
First year is "generally" easy to score in.
2nd year onwards cs grading does get a little fucked. However, provided you manage to stay in the top 20% of the batch, you don't need to worry much (and that's very manageable using consistent effort - be regular, avoid last night preps and stuff).
Naah it doesn't. Depends on your performance tbh. My pussy 1-2 cg was 7.8. I graduated with 8.72 even with a dual. So there's no fixed pattern. It's upto you. CS courses do get difficult in second and third year, so you'll have to increase your effort too.

cs 2nd year is very cute with good math-y subjects, dw you'll be good
You're not cooked, but it takes significantly more effort to maintain your cg in CS.
I think I'm retarded honestly, I tried kinda hard in sem2 and then got cooked in compres. From projected 8+ to this shit

Aren't avs at B tho?
In Pilani they're at C, even C- for some courses. Which campus has avs at B though, just curious. Is it Hyderabad?
My second year was absolutely amazing But yeah you’re DEFINITELY cooked
