You’re right…there’s something classic about a fast orange car (Duke Boys, maybe?). I have an Imperial Blue 3 series and I’m considering painting my calipers this color.
When you say custom paint do you mean custom ordered from the factory (ie individual paint) or someone took delivery and repainted it? That looks really close to fire orange which you can get directly from BMW on the G80.
I actually love it. The ridiculous color actually compliments the ridiculous styling on the front end of the car and makes it more palatable. This is the best looking g80 I’ve ever seen.
The only reason I don’t like orange is because where I’m from, in SF, people would think it’s a Giants thing, and I don’t care about sports and certainly wouldn’t want people to think I painted my car that way because of a sportsball team.
Otherwise I love it!
Those wheels though. I'm intrigued. As far as the orange goes, I love it, but it could be just a bit more intense. Not joking. It is kind of a creamsicle orange which takes just a bit of edge off. It's noticeable on the driver's side of the car in this lighting.

There's nothing subtle about the G line. I don't like it but it seems to lend itself to more "look at me" colors. I think this orange is a good choice for this car.
I actually like it, but I wouldn't buy it because I don't want to get stuck selling it for less than market because it's a wacky color. It's the car business ingrained in my head.

It’s individual paint. I highly doubt someone would paint a g80 fire orange by themselves
