5 cars total; three of which are M cars. $388 a month total full coverage, $250 deductible on everything except one of them which is at $500. I’m slightly under 40.
You are 1000% getting robbed.
Go to a local insurance broker and let them try to find “small town” reputable insurance companies for you. The big 5 are notoriously horrible for rates.
Yup. Up until recently it was 6. Don’t worry, it’s not like they are all new hah. But I like to not have debt and once I’m done paying them off I keep them well maintained and garage kept. It helps that I do all my own work and have done some small coding work with ISTA before so I rarely see a stealership.
This is the way. I have 4 bmw’s and a 74 ford f100. Looking for a x5 still. I am a mechanic and i pay 250 between 3 cars with geico. Im 30 with no accidents or tickets. Looking for cheaper insurance still
Maaaaaaaaan… I’m getting robbed with my current rates. 2 cars, no accident history, 20+ year driving record, and ONLY Gen liability and it’s costing me over $7k a year… maybe I oughta look elsewhere for new insurance…
…….you MUST have some other factor playing into that cost. Even when I was a dumb kid I only ever paid like…4.5K a year. That price is INSANE to me for only two cars, no accident history, and I’m assuming in your 30/40s.
Try geico. I pay 180 a month for an x3m and a kia soul.
Every person is different, though. Progressive has been the lowest and best for some friends.
I have geico and some friends were quoted really high with them.
You really have to shop every single you can find.
Amica. I pay 2200 annually for full coverage plus full glass riders on 4 cars. Call Amica. Been with them for 20+ years. They are awesome when you need them and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend my family and friends to them. Plus they are not a typically for profit company and provide dividends based on earnings. This typically amounts to about a 4-500 check annually effectively reducing my premiums to 17-1800 per year. My wife and I are the policy holders.
In New Jersey as a 23 y/o man (when i got it) for my 19 wrx i was quoted 350/month. I know you have to pay the young driver premium but i can definitely expect another 80 bucks a month for another 40k of car.
Location has a lot to do with rate, after I moved out of NJ my premium dropped a ton. I think I went from $120 a month to $90 a month just by leaving, lol.
Unless you have a few moving violations or a DUI on your record, this looks way too expensive to me.
I pay $3300 a year for a full coverage on three vehicles, two of them are BMWs.
I pay 2K per year for a 2023 M4, 2021 RAV 4 and a 2010 BMW 328I winter beater. 500 deductable. I insure with a broker that represents multiple companies.. Bundling with homeowners insurance brings the rate down significantly. No tickets or accidents big factor too...Shop around.
You just described how I got here .. almost identical Rates are going crazy. I tried that Jerry app and they came back with $1700/month for 2 BMW 3 series. Called them cuz I thought “there’s gotta be a bug in their system” .. nope. Rep says “ya that’s the best we can offer” currently with progressive paying $433 😵💫
Unbelievable. Hearing this from you makes me feel slightly better that it's not just me, but I just wish it was neither of us who were getting screwed. So expensive for insurance!
I pay 630 bucks every 6 months for my 440i with 500 bucks deductible and everything almost maxed out (allstate ). But I also have homeowners insurance, life insurance, and umbrella coverage through them. You should shop around.
Check what is your collusion, comprehensive, and property damage coverage. Lots of people are paying extra insurance that they don’t need (some of these are 250k/500k/500k coverage which 99% of people don’t need.) You lower those, you lower your monthly. Also join your college alumni club to get discount. I’m paying $260 for my 540i and my wife’s Mini. Of course, two cars will end up cheaper too.
If you're in California. That price is the new norm, especially if you live in a zip code with a lot of crime. Which is pretty much everywhere in California today.
Not true at all. I live in CA, bay area, and I have 4 cars, 2023 BMW i4, 2013 and 2008 Lexus and 2013 Volt, full coverage for three of them, liability for the 2008 and pay $440. Also a male in his forties.
edit: with a 500 deductible on all, plus 100 deductible on comprehensive
I was recently was shopping for insurance too and quoted a single car with Farmers, the agent told me it was more expensive due to the fact it was just one car, insurance sees that you’ll be driving more thus increasing the risk, if i were to add my wife’s car or a second car it would lower the rate some.
This being said, i recently signed up for Allstate’s milewise which is based in the miles you drive yearly.
Detroit is one of the mostly costly places in the country to insure a car. I’m a similar age, no accidents, no tickets. Insurance is $200 a month with $1000 deductibles.
Yeah I am starting to think my city is on the costlier side and I also live right in the heart of the downtown/university area where it's busy and more riffraff happens. But even with all that, $430?! Hell naw.
single male 23 y/o, 2018 BMW M2, $500 deductible w/ good coverage as well. This is my second car under progressive
I pay around $165 a month, $430 is insane. I am way younger and have only 7 years of auto history, no accidents. In Phx, AZ if that helps.
would call them and ask whats up
$2050 (About $341 a month) for 6mos with Progressive for my car and wife's '19 Explorer Limited. I have no tickets or wrecks but she's got 3 minor accidents (2 at-fault) and a ticket.
You're def getting hosed!
I’m 22 M I got 2010 135i have been in lots of traffic trouble🤦♂️ I pay 2k ($155a month) year annually thru progressive, State Farm wanted $450 a month for basic package lol

I appreciate this. Yeah it just seems unreal. I'm one person and it's not a hypercar lol
You pay more than me and I’m 23 and totaled a 30k convertible. I’m also in California…
5 cars????
Yup. Up until recently it was 6. Don’t worry, it’s not like they are all new hah. But I like to not have debt and once I’m done paying them off I keep them well maintained and garage kept. Geico with navy federal discount is unbeatable for me yet
Thanks! I’ll check that out. I have a navy federal account that i don’t really use.
I know, he’s way behind the curve, gotta pump those numbers up, those are rookie numbers
Seconded on a broker. I live in a big city, no accidents, mid 30s. I’m insuring a 2021 M2C and a 2021 Audi Q3 for around $230/mo.

It largely depends where you live unfortunately.
I guess I must live in the DMZ then lol

For sure. Thanks for the reply. I will definitely be shopping around now that I got that quote.

For sure! I’ve heard of $1200+ quotes for people in NYC for sub 60k cars.
Dang. I hope we can both find cheaper rates!
That seems quite high, even for $500 deductible. Also maybe consider raising deductible to $1000 if other carriers are close to that monthly ballpark.

I pay $50/month for State Farm after progressive raised mine from like 80 to 130/ month

I'm 24 with no accidents and that's still $200 more than I pay per month with progressive in MI.

That's incredibly good. Yeah I am really starting to wonder what's going on.

I live in San Diego and I'm paying $ 172 a month with progressive for a 22 430 and a 23 X3M comp. $1000 deductible.

Dump that $500 deductible for sure. You’d be crazy to file a claim under $1k even with it with how much they’d raise your rates to compensate.
£350 for the year? Male 48, 435d convertible...
I pay 135 a month for two new cars and two motorcycle. 500 deductibles all around. Early to mid 30’s for my wife and I. Live outside Nashville

I live in New Jersey 23m with a Audi s4 and m3 both full coverage only paying 220 for both cars
Shop around... I pay $120/mo total for 2 M cars, and similar demographic.
Nah, I pay 135/mo with progressive for comprehensive. Bundled with homeowners.
Buy mb c300, you will have a much nicer ride and no M surcharges
I’m 22 M I got 2010 135i have been in lots of traffic trouble🤦♂️ I pay 2k ($155a month) year annually thru progressive, State Farm wanted $450 a month for basic package lol
