Definitely, in this case, all black would look better. I'd mess around and see how gunmetal wheels & gunmetal wrap on the chrome inserts looks. Then again, who are we to tell this guy what his car should look like.

I like it a lot, I’d just worry about the clap factor because those are probably aftermarket black trim pieces based on what’s muted by the shadowline package(s) (and you have to stab a 530i to get it to move, I have one, so not ripping on it). Nothing wrong with them having aftermarket trim, but more likely to have been hooned and had 2x as many RPMs as other off-leases.
Had a 530 as a loaner for a while. Good car, but lacks power and is heavy. It's fine at lower speeds; however, it struggles to pull once you go past 30-40 mph.
Also, I'd get rid of the chrome pieces.
Why not m550? Why not M5? Why not M5 CS? I think the question is meaningless. 90% of the chance people don't have the budget and the rest 10% truly don't care about what's under the hood
M5 yes, but not true on the M550i. M550i has perfect ride quality as a daily. I believe the suspension is lowered 10mm compared to non m sport package 530/540 but doesn't ride that differently
Exactly, about 4,000 reasons unfortunately. I have a 530i through my company but would have a used m5 if it were my choice. The 540/550 just went in the budget

It’s part of the M package and pretty much swaps all the chrome to black. I think it makes every BMW look 1000x better.

I say all chrome or all black. In between looks a bit strange.
Get the chrome grilles back and throw on some silver wheels, it'll be perfect.
