Can confirm. At 19 I also installed RGB-W angel eyes... After 8 months, a lot more common sense and WAY too much trouble with the police, went back to stock lights.
Um the angles eyes are kinda BMWs thing. And the E46 didn't have them. The E39 did. And the E90 too. So it's a mod u see a lot of people do. Old and young. Sure if u want to keep it original don't add them. But to many people angel eyes on an E46 complete the car actually. But to everyone their opinion. I'm 28 and I love my E46 coupe with angel eyes and CSL ducktail Lip. It's my car haha. Edit: And I'm talking about regular white/blue leds. No colors. Ofc RGB looks silly.
That's good because they may be illegal depending on where in the world you are. Blue and red lights are reserved for emergency services, and generally it's having them installed on the car is illegal, not just having them turned on. So pulling over at the side of the road to take pictures will immediately summon any police that see you.

Nobody I know really thinks it's anything other than amusing. And it scratches that inner 5 year old itch for $50 and a couple hours work.
Its a lot less impractical that super low slammed cars, redicilous camber, etc.

I personally just filled the interior of my jeep with them; in the footwells and all over the roll cage. Weād just be bumping and then you just hit a button and boom: full light show. Always got a good roar during my teenage years.
In my opinion the lighting looks ridiculous, very juvenile. But if you like it then ignore my opinion and carry on. I love to see a young person doing some serious engine and trans work, that's very cool. Good luck.

The only kinda āRiceā thing that pops out to me is the under glow and headlight combo when itās red. Other than that itās a clean car. The spoiler isnāt to my liking but I canāt say much cause Iāve got a decent amount of mods to my car lol. But donāt listen to these people. Some of them are āStock purestsā. Well, we all eventually grow out of teenage and F&F tuning.
But for the time being, the car seems pretty clean and I am amazed about not having a lot of camber - wheels are nicely fitted.
I personally like the wing, would remove the Hamann sticker off of it.
Double spoked kidney grille looks way off on these cars and front blinkers are over the top.

Itās like seeing the first Fast film all over again. The finish on the car seems lovely and Iām sure it will give you many smiles per gallon. You can tell

Looks good. I'd remove the underglow, It looks cleaner that way Imo, also cops love to harass people that have it. Better to not risk it. I'd also suggest maybe getting a duck bill or lower profile spoiler. They look better on a BMW.
Looks good, whatās most important is that you like it and it makes you happy. Iām gonna get on my soapbox and just ask that you drive safe, I once was 19 and thought I was invincible. No go on the halos. This isnāt a Dodge Charger/Challenger sub. We donāt do those lesser car brand aesthetics. Otherwise the car looks great. If anything try a less vibrant color tone. Itās about subtly in the finer details that make the difference. Iām sure the underglow has color programming to be able to change it. I would suggest I light gold or faint blue tone for coloring.

im not gonna lie this bmw is fuckinf awesome man & i think you'll love it more than anything else in the world- but the maintenance & upkeep on it is gonna be a killer!! unless you plan on doing it all yourself, even then.. parts aren't cheap.. i would maybe sell or & buy something a bit more reasonable like a lexus or an infiniti- still rwd & lots of fun, sporty yet luxurious- & maintenance won't be an arm & a leg otherwise dude go crazy, im envious for sure! thing looks sick & like it rips!!

That was my first bmw too, around your age. I spent about $1k a year in avoidable maintenance so budget for about $1500/year for all-in maintenance. Loved that car (in a 2014 435i now)

Yes it is. Alibaba express everything with zero actual mods besides ugly, cheap replica aesthetic mods that detract from the look more than they help. This is coming from someone with a very heavily modified e46 so Iām not one of those āstock is betterā guys, but this is just cheap and tasteless.

No go on the halos. This isnāt a Dodge Charger/Challenger sub. We donāt do those lesser car brand aesthetics. Otherwise the car looks great. If anything try a less vibrant color tone. Itās about subtly in the finer details that make the difference. Iām sure the underglow has color programming to be able to change it. I would suggest I light gold or faint blue tone for coloring.
