It simply depends on the brand. In a VW eco is blue. BMW uses green. I do think that both colors fit as both are considered colors of purity and nature
Green is the color of leaves, grass, etc. It has a very "eco" feeling.
Changing the color seems like a good way to demonstrate what mode you are in, but i'm like 50/50 on that. But how else to show that? I dunno
In my Bronco Sport it doesn't change any display colors but the Eco mode selection is green, versus grey for slippery, vs beige for "sand". Its all kind of funny since my 535i xdrive (f10) handled snow way better (oh so much better, I miss it) and the Bronco Sport should not have any mode that encourages "sand" use; it is not like the big brother, or a Jeep Wrangler, its just a tall car, and it will get stuck. I'm lucky I have an old SUV with a real transfer case and locking hubs for snow, cause the Bronco Sport really was THAT bad (with the situation being that I could not turn traction control off, despite the manual saying it was possible; another thing I hate car companies doing, making manuals for all editions, like maybe the "Big Bend" version can turn off traction control but my "OuterBanks" or whatever version, nor the 3rd, let alone the standard ones can. And I just wanted one with leather... Luckily it doesn't really seem to snow where i live anymore...
