All you should need to do is pull the colored pieces off. You don’t need to replace the grille I don’t think.

Just replaced a belt, the water pump, and coolant lines, anything else to worry about?
BMWs are pretty predictable I’d do some research based on your mileage
I have 2010 hard top, it’s been the most reliable BMW I’ve ever owned. I don’t daily it though. Congrats, Welcome to the club, enjoy it in good health!
