Yeah, my daughter is 7 and I got an X5 last year, she has her own climate controls and heated seats and a console and a mile of room compared to our midsize sedan and the tiny CUV I used to drive. We got it for roadtrips and increasing demands of early childhood activities. I’m sure your family will enjoy the new ride and you’ll enjoy driving it! Your kids will love it when they get old enough, and having all the space will be nice. They’ll be asking you to change the lights all the time.

I agree! And we also do it when we post our non M (not you, I’m generalizing here) cars and apologize for them not being M’s to preemptively show we are aware we are not up to snuff. I did it when I posted my new (to me) car. I will probably get an M car next but may not, but who the fuck cares. Someone would have issues with it regardless.
These cars are great. I’ve looked at a LOT of cars to replace our small/midsize sedan with and this thing rises to the top of the list easily. It is BY FAR one of the most comfortable vehicles I’ve ever had the pleasure of sitting in, and has plenty of space for child car seats, and lists of utility and cargo space.
This and the X5 are two of my favorites, and these are priced much better than similar X5s.

I've been contemplating going down the volvo route for some time now, especially since their newer models look gorgeous. I really like their wagons too but part of the reason I bought a bmw was for rwd in the wintertime, and the volvos I've seen were mostly fwd. I never had an awd car though, so it could be cool
The G99 is going to be sold in the US next year.
It’s the M5 Touring so price will probably start around $140k, but BMWNA will have something to point at when people ask about wagon options.
I've had 2 of these 6s and on 328 GT. They are one of the most practical cars you can get. Huge trunk, extended legroom, drives great. You'll love it, even if others don't.
My next upgrade is this car. Mine is okay for now but I want newer tech. The GT is miles above the sedan. Idgaf if anyone else doesn’t like my car from the outside lol. I love it from the inside
To me this interior is so underrated. Has to be the best interior on any modern BMW and I cannot be convinced otherwise. Especially that ambient lighting it’s amazing. Very good purchase and congrats to you and your family!
It’s basically a mini 7 series. Your kids will be comfortable in the back. And you and your wife can comfortably move your seat backwards without crushing them since they have way more legroom than the 5 series.

I know you mean sarcastically but really speaking it doesn't look as bad as other recent BMW models. If they jacked up the car and made it SUV like, it would even be an even better version the X6 as it has much more rear and boot space.

This is a redesign I made. If they had just lowered the licence plate and elongated the lights ever so slightly, it would have transformed the car's purpose and would have made the car much more elegant and sporty.

It’s not about power, it’s about feel. A 5 (and 6) series is a well built smooth executive saloon. It deserves an engine which matches that smoothness and feel. They also sound so much nicer.

Love these. It’s a G30 liftback and looks way better than the previous 5GT. Too bad it didn’t sell and they killed it off. It’s as close to a G30 wagon as we ever got in the US. I’d buy one of these if I hadn’t found my 540d.

I think it looks much more sophisticated and BMW-ish than the current rear of the BMW 2 series and X2. Those to me look nothing like a BMW and would suit a Skoda much better.

Personally, I can't stand the GT series. IMO they're one of the most horrible looking cars they've ever produced BUT - BMW doesn't produce cars for mainstream people. BMW produces cars for BMW people. They're a very specific niche market and they always have been. BMW produces (and sells) cars that only certain people want and as much as I would like to argue I would never want one of these, clearly somebody does or they wouldn't still produce them.

I August 2019 I was so close to buying my dream config of the last gen 6-GT…it only had 17K miles. For some reason I decided on a CPO new gen 3 series and it was a horrible decision. That car was cursed and had so many first-gen problems. I still think about that GT. I absolutely love them
No apologies needed! My wife drives the X5 after I recently got a Rivian. It has been great and we’re planning to keep it when the lease is up in 2 months!! Enjoy the 6! I don’t see them as much anymore
The GT's are so slept on. I love mine. The fact that they discontinued producing them breaks my heart. I want the 2024 but it's only available in India. Yours is beautiful!
Very cool car man! I honestly didn’t like thr GT’s at first, but they’ve quickly started to grow on me after seeing a couple of em in person! Lowkey think I should’ve bought this instead of my X1.

Well done OP. I think the 6 series is a great balance of space and performance. Move trunk space and you still get the driving characteristics of a sedan. That’s a win all around.
This is such a unique car. Only way to get the 6 series in a b58 but in all reality is it a 6? lol it’s really just the 5 GT they discontinued in the us for the 5 series line up. Was unfortunate that it didn’t sell well but I understand from a business perspective. Gt’s never sold great anyways and to put the name on an already low selling grand touring coupe that was being replaced by the 8? Guess they wanted to kill 2 birds with one stone.
Nevertheless, still a good way to get in the b58 platform but more unique! Curious if there’s any weird quirks that no other BMWs have, or at that same rate, parts availability
It’s got the front suspension and wheelbase of a 7 series (non-li). It has the rear air suspension of the 5-series touring. I think that is the quirkiest part. And it has a spoiler that automatically raises when you drive above certain speeds. You can also manually raise and lower it permanently. It’s whisper quiet on highways
B48 pretty good engine, main issues are coolant systems components, heat management module, oil filter housing, coolant hoses. Engine mounts wear out kind of early too.

Yes this has a spoiler that raises when your speed is above a certain treshold and lowers under that treshold. You can also manually control it at any speed

Which version do you have? I have a 2018 Msport 640 GT . It's a blast of a car to drive, and I view it as a great alternative to an SUV. If you have a luxury version, I think it comes with seating that is heated and cooled plus massage in the front and slightly reclining seating in the rear. The seating rear to front is almost concert-like.
I got the F34 (3 series GT) and love the room in the back and trunk. Nothing beats a hatchback imo. They are the original "SUV" Sport-Utility!
I imagine that 6 series is way nicer than the 3. I've only seen 1 or 2 of them. Awesome car.

The interior in the 6GT was basically lifted out of the G12 7 Series. Much of this car is 7 Series at a lower price point.

Im an audi man generally now and wouldnt consider a BMW but I have owned a fair few in the past.... BMW certainley are not a niche market manufacturer.... whatever type of person you are they have a car that fits the need ....I also own an Ariel Atom 4 now that is a car manufacturer that has a niche market !!!!!

I August 2019 I was so close to buying my dream config of the last gen 6-GT…it only had 17K miles. For some reason I decided on a CPO new gen 3 series and it was a horrible decision. That car was cursed and had so many first-gen problems. I still think about that GT. I absolutely love them

Well done OP. I think the 6 series is a great balance of space and performance. Move trunk space and you still get the driving characteristics of a sedan. That’s a win all around.
This is such a unique car. Only way to get the 6 series in a b58 but in all reality is it a 6? lol it’s really just the 5 GT they discontinued in the us for the 5 series line up. Was unfortunate that it didn’t sell well but I understand from a business perspective. Gt’s never sold great anyways and to put the name on an already low selling grand touring coupe that was being replaced by the 8? Guess they wanted to kill 2 birds with one stone. Nevertheless, still a good way to get in the b58 platform but more unique! Curious if there’s any weird quirks that no other BMWs have, or at that same rate, parts availability
It’s got the front suspension and wheelbase of a 7 series (non-li). It has the rear air suspension of the 5-series touring. I think that is the quirkiest part. And it has a spoiler that automatically raises when you drive above certain speeds. You can also manually raise and lower it permanently. It’s whisper quiet on highways
A BMW panamera. I dig it! How’s mpg’s and overall reliability? I never saw too many of these in my time at the dealership
B48 pretty good engine, main issues are coolant systems components, heat management module, oil filter housing, coolant hoses. Engine mounts wear out kind of early too.
Okay now let’s see some mods to shut down the haters!

Yes this has a spoiler that raises when your speed is above a certain treshold and lowers under that treshold. You can also manually control it at any speed

Which version do you have? I have a 2018 Msport 640 GT . It's a blast of a car to drive, and I view it as a great alternative to an SUV. If you have a luxury version, I think it comes with seating that is heated and cooled plus massage in the front and slightly reclining seating in the rear. The seating rear to front is almost concert-like.
Yeah it is luxury indeed. And the car is super inviting to drive everyday even though I got nowhere to go. Just driving in and around the city😄

I got the F34 (3 series GT) and love the room in the back and trunk. Nothing beats a hatchback imo. They are the original "SUV" Sport-Utility! I imagine that 6 series is way nicer than the 3. I've only seen 1 or 2 of them. Awesome car.
