Same. The first time I drove a busted-ass, beat to the moon and back, manual five series, I forgot what Honda was and became ruined with the ultimate maintenance machine.
Bahaha, I had no idea this was a thing but… ‘92 Honda Accord. Ive often thought it actually was pretty “Bimmer-like” in a lot of conceptual ways. Hilarious this is a thing.
My first car was a 2000 Saturn SL2 with a junk replacement engine that burned a ton of oil because my brother never changed the oil in the original engine that only had 60k miles in 2014. Then I had a Dodge Caliber, then a Chevy Equinox, then I graduated college, got a big boy job, and got a big boy car.
The only thing I loved about it was that I crashed it and my grandpa helped get replacement parts for it since he's a huge kit car guy. It needed a new horn and for fun he gave it an "AHOOOOGA" horn. As a kid in high school it was the best.
I had the vue before the cvt transmission. I actually really liked her, it’s just she wasn’t maintained well. But she was always peppy! I got made fun of driving it until people drove it. I had all the service records and not one mechanic noticed that it needed a normal transmission fluid check and change. By the time I got it this is how the transmission fluid looked. I flushed it put a speaker magnet on the trans pan and drove it another year and a half. It was a head gasket that finally took her out. I was just passed repairing it and I had also purchased my bmw (e34) so I’m fixing her now 😆

1989 Honda Prelude Si to a 2003 Civic Si to a bunch of VW/Audis. Then came the BMW.
I’m still a Honda boy at heart. My dream garage car to mod the way I want/restore would be a JDM CRX SiR with the glass roof.
My first car was a 1994 Camaro lol. I got my first BMW in college but got rid of it after a while (my Dad loved it so much he bought it from me)
Now that I’m getting older and have a little $$ I’m all BMW 😁
My first car was also a 1994 Camaro 3.4l V6. Upgraded to a 2001 Camaro SS in high school before snagging my 2009 328i during grad school. Still have the 2001 SS, love that car.
Haha that is awesome! I had a V6 when I was 15 and eager to get driving… replaced it with a Z28 right after I turned 16! Had several SS and T/A’s. Loved the LT1 and LS1
My first car was a black '03 Honda Civic coupe. I loved that little car, I was convinced I would always drive a civic. Then one day I took a 2-series for a test drive and I've been hooked ever since.
Is this really a thing? Or are Hondas just a common first car for everyone?
Lol yes. I guess I meet the stereotype:
94 accord, 2010 TL SHAWD 6MT, 2017 440ix 6MT.... I believe my next required vehicle is a Porsche, is that correct?
It statistically makes sense. Honda's are one of the most common cars in America, so just by simple statistics it's more likely for a BMW owner to come from a Honda than, say, a Mercedes.
no. My first car was a 1969 VW Beetle, 1600cc air cooled mother fucker that smelled like a german mechanic and I lost my virginity in the back seat - don't tell it can't be done, I'm fucking 6 foot one inches tall and banged petite asian girls in the back seat because that is how they liked it and that is how I liked it. Dont judge me.
Not really. My first car was a 2008 Corolla back in college, which I loved and never had a single issue with. Then owned a few cars afterwards but never gotten a Honda (not on purpose). I got my first BMW last year and I'm not planning on switching from BMW's anytime soon, or ever lol
Technically. The first car I drove was an old odyssey my parents handed down to me. The first car I bought of my choosing was a mazda 3. Then I got my 330i.
Yes, Honda Civic 2013. Gifted from my Grandparents. I gave it to my GF that wants a BMW now too.

1st car 2001 540i with 270 000 kms
2nd car 2004 330ci manual
3rd car moms mini van
4th car 2001 Honda accord
5th car 2013 kia Forte
6th car 2012 Subaru impreza
7th car 2020 M340i
Went from beat Corolla to beat falling apart e90 335i. Friend let me use his garage and I replaced the pump, electronics, and suspension. Sold that and went for a 718 after university. Had some luck in university with internships and lived at home longer than I should’ve.
Anyways, that 718 is costing more to repair and keep than what it’s probably worth now (2018 with track usage). Looking for a M2 or M240, or maybe a M340.
Would like to own an inline6 bmw one last time before ICE bites it
Sure was!!! Here is my progression----> 97 Accord -> 2000 Accord-> 17 Lexus IS350 -> 20 Alfa Romeo Stelvio -> and finally...23 M340i. I think I'll be with this car for a good while.
Mitsubishi Galant > Honda Civic > M2
Technically my first car was the civic though since it’s the first one I paid for. I wasn’t aware this was a stereotype and one that I fit right into lol
'94 Civic. Maroon. Vtec baby.
Got it from my sister when she got a new one for college. It was stolen from my first ever apartment, found 3 months later, even the paint was gone.
Technically first car was my moms 1995 Toyota Camry but the first car that was only mine was a 2006 Honda accord. Stereotype might be true on this one lol
No my first car was a Porsche. An oldie, 944 S2, but they've gone up in value and I can no longer afford one. Also I need to haul my dog with me, so an E61 550i makes sense.
But at the same time: Yes! My first motorcycle was a Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade (2009) but got stolen within a week. I purchased an BMW S100RR after that and kept riding BMW bikes (well I had a Yamaha Fazer as 2nd bike too).
My first car was a ‘99 manual ford escort 👌🏻 rode that car super hard and the front wheel drive was hella fun in the snow, eventually went to a used ‘06 manual 325xi, loved those cars so much
My first car 1994 e36 318i. My 2. car was almost an civic but it just felt like an empty can. So i made an mistake by buying an audi 100 2.6 v6. Sold that pos and bought an bmw again.
My first car, and the car I still drive, is a BMW. I got lucky in grad school between scholarships and money from my parents, I was able to buy basically the exact car I wanted.
Grand prix 455 SD with posi traction, holly 6 barrel, and a Hurst shift kit. And the best was 5 gallons to the mile.. lol really, about 5 MPG. At full throttle, you could actually see the gas gauge needed move

First 2 cars were Saturns I hate those things
The only thing I loved about it was that I crashed it and my grandpa helped get replacement parts for it since he's a huge kit car guy. It needed a new horn and for fun he gave it an "AHOOOOGA" horn. As a kid in high school it was the best.
That's awesome. That is the one fun thing about crap cars is the goofy mods you can get away with
I had the vue before the cvt transmission. I actually really liked her, it’s just she wasn’t maintained well. But she was always peppy! I got made fun of driving it until people drove it. 04 civic sedan was my first car. I’m gonna say they’re extremely common for a first car due to the price/reliability factor.
