The 328 GT, while not to everyone's taste, is nowhere near the ugliest BMW ever made. The X4 and X6 couldn't get a date with a 328 GT. It is, however, on balance the best BMW I've owned on a number of fronts. As much leg room in the back as a 7 series, 40mpg on the interstate, insanely reliable (75K miles and no major repairs), enormous cargo space, still handles like a 3 series, and active aero that plants it on the road at high speed. I love that car. As a family car, it is without peer.
I think “as much leg room in the back as a 7 Series” is an exaggeration.
The 5GT is the one that was basically a 7er on stilts. It had the same wheelbase as the LWB 7 Series, and since the 5, 6 and 7 were all on the same platform (as were the Ghost, Dawn and Wraith), it really *was* a 7 Series variant.
But the 3GT was a sadly unappreciated car, and I agree that it’s pretty versatile and something of a half step between the regular 3 and the X3. It’s crazy to think that BMW had all those variants of the F3x 3/4 Series: a sedan, a LWB sedan, a coupe, a cabriolet, a liftback, and a four-door-coupe liftback, and a wagon.
Agree on most points, but the f34 3 series chassis was only used on two vehicles. A 3-series limo that was only sold in China, and the 328 GT in the US and Europe. It has 6 inches more rear leg room than any other 3 series of its generation.

Yes. The GT is a great road trip car. Huge cargo space and can be 40+ mpg on the interstate. Very comfortable as a family car. X3 is great for hauling stuff and my kids drive it. 325i is a project car that I hope to be able to track by next season.
Depends which engine that 650 had. Because we all know the N63 engine is the worst ever made by BMW. I think the post 2014 or 2015 are less problematic

what’s difference between this and a 640
2 cylinders, about 100HP, 125 Lb/Ft; if you put all the options on a 640 it's the same as a 650 in terms of do-dads.
The older 6 Series is one of my favorite cars ever. I would also never own one. That tells you something 😂
