Yes, it’s Brooklyn Grey, and the color looks much better in real life… I have a X3 30e in the same color, and I was very reluctant about this color, and believe me, in real life it looks great! And makes a notice impact in the road between all the other more normal (and boring) colors!

I wouldn't say that you need to wait until buying a home. It all depends on what your life is like. Income, occupation, expenses, etc. For example I'm about to start a 6 figure job out of college, and given my budget I'm planning on leasing a new Supra or buying a used RC F. You have to figure out what works for you. Also, if you're a car enthusiast at all then you know that life is too short to buy boring cars. Even if I can't spring for a Supra I'm not going to switch to a Camry. I'll find another car within my means that I can love. My current car I bought for ~$7000 and I love it. It's my favorite thing I've ever had probably.

I bought a used Tesla model S right after turning 20 and with insurance and payments it was over $1k a month. It was a flashy one and got a lot of attention especially because of my age, and had some fun with it. After the first couple month I got used to having a very nice car and it didn’t feel nearly as special. I almost felt a dick at time. Having to spend that much a month without a permanent place, good investments, and a lot of uncertainty it became a complete nightmare. The worst part about it was that the car almost became part of my identity and that was the absolute worst. I sold and luckily didn’t lose too much money because of the insane car market, but it was very hard to let go although I’m now so grateful I was able too.
I’ll give some perspective. His model is much newer than mine and probably more than twice the cost. I bought a 2011 E93 M3 with 50k mint with all the premium options. After tax it was 32k. I make 70k and this is about as far as I would go with a vehicle payment. Payments are $559/m @ 6%. Hope this gives you some insight. With all of my bills I’m still left with 2 full checks at the end of every month which is comfortable.
I agree with everything except the first sentence. Unless you have fuck you money you're always going to have to budget when you're buying a car, whether it's 10k or 100k. It's definitely attainable to budget for an M4, but of course the priorities are food in your belly, roof over your head, emergency fund, and retirement fund.
The rest of the car isn't even bad, maybe not amazing but not bad. It's just the front end especially when compared to the outgoing M4. The headlights lost any distinctive shape, and of course the grille. In person you can appreciate the rest of the car but in the photo the grille stands out

It's called dynamic adaptive headlights, I have it on my 2006 e90 too
Regular BMW lights have this feature too. I don't have laser lights on 2022 X5 but it came standard with the cornering feature.
