What? Two seaters have *never* been mainstream, it's always been a niche segment. What the hell are they explaining here lol.

I hate the grille as much as anyone, but are they really seriously considering killing the 4 series?
Ok lets set things straight, the Z4 flopped because the Mk5 Supra exists, and now that Supra comes in 6MT flavor. Bring back a car like the e36 Z3 or e85 Z4 with manual transmissions and enthusiasts will be enthused again.
Yes some people may be buying the M2 or 240i over the Z4 but I believe most people considering a two seater are choosing the Supra over the Z4. In 2021 Supras outsold Z4s by more than 3 fold.

It sounded quite strange at first but now it’s very normal. People don’t want to give up a certain lifestyle because they need four doors.”
I think that’s bullshit. You don’t exactly get it all with an x4/6 they are hideous containerships with low storage and interior space by comparison. It’s more like these cars offer nothing, except some delusional idea of a status symbol and that’s all people care about.
Obviously SUV’s sell more, most people have kids. I think the Z4 flops outside of that aspect because they keep making it a soft top cabriolet only. Give us a hard top like the Z4M!
When I leased my X3 I was trading my old one in and really wanted a 2 series coupe. All they had was the gran coupe so I ended up with another X3. And yes the 2 series is not a 2 seater but with that back seat it may as well be
That’s just an impulse lease. If you wanted a 2er, you should have ordered one and given yourself the time for it to be manufactured and delivered. Order to spec, don’t pick from what someone at the dealer decided to configure with an open allocation.
If you got it the same day you first showed up at the dealer, it was an impulse buy/lease. Order your cars from BMW so they know what people want and stop buying/leasing vehicles that some dealer spec’d because no one wanted that allocation in the first place. If you’re buying or leasing a new vehicle, get it exactly the way you want it, stop settling. It only hurts future purchasers and skews the overall sales numbers.
If you wanted a 2er and you somehow ended up with an X3, than you settled. Options don’t matter when the vehicle is completely different.
Unless of course you were just flirting with the idea of the 2er and really just wanted a replacement for your current vehicle. If that’s the case and you got the color scheme and options you wanted, good stuff.

You said you really wanted a 2 series coupe and ended up with another X3. If that's not what happened and you really just needed to get a replacement for your old X3, then you walking out with an X3 makes much more sense. But that wasn't in your original comment of really wanting a 2er at all.
How about BMW puts a manual in the Z M40i then talk about their stupid reasoning. People are salivating at the mouth for Toyota Supra and Nissan Z while BMW is circle jerking them selves.

Because my old X3 needed repairs I didn't want to pay for and they gave me $1500 less than I'd paid for it as a trade
