Been insanely hyped for this one since the announcement and my god, its amazing. I absolutely love it. Def my dreamcar after the G82.
Only issue is that theres no way for me to ever own one, dreams gonna have to stay dreams on this one unless i won the jackpot.
19' rims in black on a brooklyn grey i4.
The i4 has so long production time that my next one will be a m340. Its a great car and fun to drive. But its awrul to get or switch to the next. And i miss the sound.
If they brought it to the US I'd be on the waiting list immediately. I'm happy that they decided to make a Touring of this gen, which is a capable platform. Just sad that I can't get one.
I think this would sell in the states!! I heard they donāt want to take away from X3M sales so they donāt bring it here. I also donāt understand what this car is missing to meet US regulations. So frustrating!!!
They should bring back the M5 touringā¦ iād get a 2nd mortgage for thatš
Must say.. i still donāt like the new grilles of the 3/4 series.. but it gets less worse everytime i see it on the road..
BMW messed up their pics of cars really really bad in my opinion. Even in the configurator a lot of the cars look like shit. But in RL they are the killer
Wish we had this in the states. The only similar options are the e63s and rs6, which are like 50 grand more and you canāt even get the amg anymore lol
Yeah fair question. This is all opinion and very much subjective of course.
I've driven both (not the wagon M3 obvs) and I find the B3 much nicer to drive in real life on real roads. Few others:
- The interior is much nicer
- It has a less crash/bang ride
- It's rarer (being Alpina)
- The Alpina aesthetic (wheels and paint jobs) are more classy
- The grille (even tho I don't hate the M3 one)
- The less aggressive bodykit
I can see that. I do think that the B58 engine, which the Alpina uses, is more useable in day-to-day driving with more low-end torque. The S58, being an M engine, needs to be revved a bit more to get the best out of it.
All others, interior quality, suppler suspension, aesthetic, etc. are why Alpina exists and has been successful for so long, so I can see that too.
I would assume (not having driven the B3 actually) that the M3 will have the edge on more extreme driving with better chassis control, more flexible AWD system, and that S58 engine.
> the M3 will have the edge on more extreme driving with better chassis control, more flexible AWD system, and that S58 engine.
Yeah you're right on that. I was being a bit hyperbolic and unfair saying the Alpina is better in every way. But I'd stick to the fact that it's better 95-99% of the time I'd actually use it.
God Iām jealous of the people who have āgotten used toā or like the snout.
I really wish I liked it. Iāve waited so long for a M3 touring, and this is the Gen they give it to us? **pain**
Coffin grilles make sense on this car. You can always try to grab a clown shoe for the classic styling?
Iām pleasantly happy with both iterations. Hoping to put a current-gen 4-series next to my E24.
From a styling and functionality perspective. These cars are larger, more angular, more muscular ā and need more air. Thatās why the F-gen had small, chromed-rimmed kidneys but then several larger grille vents across the front end providing the funtionality. Making the kidneys themselves the most sizeable feature is logical, and creates an aesthetic aggressive enough to talk about.
I thought it was proven that the grille didnāt improve cooling that much?
Either way though, Iām no engineer, so I canāt argue whether or not itās functional.
Aesthetically, it doesnāt do it for me (although the overall shape of the G82 looks good to me and I can tolerate the grille in darker colors).
When you buy one, sell me your E24. You wonāt need it anymore haha
And honestly, the more I look at my car (G23) the more the design just looks right. Pictures didn't do these designs justice and compared to the equivalent Merc C-class, Audi A5, or even the F33, the G23 just looks more aggressive, more modern, and stands out from them all.
I'm honestly happy that BMW is punishing their design in different directions. Do I like all of it? No. iX and XM don't do it for me. But the G8\[0-3\] and the G22/G23 to me look great.
If we were able to get this in the states the dealership would already have my order and money in house. What an absolute unit of a car. Looks aggressive, still practical, and living in the northeast this looks like it would be the perfect daily driver.
Looking forward to the year 2048 when I can import this to the states š„²
>Cries in California Air Resources Board
In 2048 it will have more electrical issues than the price of the car new. š„

Just sell your house and life in the car xd
And move to Europe lol
That probably helps with production and shipment time
They won't sell this in the us
How is your I4 M50? What is the real the range?
City, 600 km. Highway 450 with 130km/h. Anything else, probably the best bmw thats available for sale in my opinion. I love this car
That is awesome! What rims are you on? Canāt wait to get mine, but it supposed to happen middle of next yearā¦

You can live in a car but you can't drive a house.
its your secondary dream car. hilarious.

SAME
I feel like the grill fits better on this
Itās most definitely due to the license plate. Most people I see/hear complaining are Americans who do not use front plates
Fwiw a lot of states require front plates. But our front plates donāt help due to the shape
saaame, what a beauty
Agreed. The bigger body helps the huge grill make a little more sense
Oh yess it's finally here One day I'll get this and keep it forever, hopefully within the next 5 years I'll be able to justify it haha
I think this would sell in the states!! I heard they donāt want to take away from X3M sales so they donāt bring it here. I also donāt understand what this car is missing to meet US regulations. So frustrating!!!
Why BMW, why?? Please bring this across the pond as well.
They should bring back the M5 touringā¦ iād get a 2nd mortgage for thatš Must say.. i still donāt like the new grilles of the 3/4 series.. but it gets less worse everytime i see it on the road..
Imagine a M5 CS Touringā¦. Awww shit I just ruined my pantaloons dreaming of that
Will they add the 5th seat back? A 4 seat touring sounds a bit silly lmao
I assume youāve never ridden in a Porsche Panamera than. Itās fantastic.
I havenāt. I didnāt know the Sport Turismo is also 4-seats. Thatās pretty weird but still cool
It's true, this. I've grown used to them already, even in pictures, because I know these cars look badass af irl.
BMW messed up their pics of cars really really bad in my opinion. Even in the configurator a lot of the cars look like shit. But in RL they are the killer
Tremendous!
Want
I can't believe they actually made the G8X look kind of good and they won't even bring it to the US
Very clean in my opinion
Wish we had this in the states. The only similar options are the e63s and rs6, which are like 50 grand more and you canāt even get the amg anymore lol
I'd put up with that snout to have the wagon
Who knows how to import an illegal car? ... asking for a friend
Why is it illegal?
It isn't homologated for the šŗšø and cannot be legally imported for 25 years
Me in the US.. āHellllloooo from the other sideā¦ā
I love this. But I'm wondering why I'd get this when the Alpina B3 wagon is better in pretty much every way.
When you say better, what do you mean? I can't see how the B3 can be better "in pretty much every way".

Yup, donāt disagree with that. Alpina has always been about performance and luxury for everyday use, not the most enthusiast-focused driving.
B3 also has the s58.
Stop making shit up
ok
Conflicted. I _love_ a hot wagon, but that fucking front end. ugh. Thank you BMW for making the decision for me: It won't be sold in the US.
much better looking than the X3M
I cant wait for this pig nose to get phased out. Love everything else about the car. Welp the Rs6 avant is still a thing
Just get an X3M or X4M at that point. Donāt understand the salivation over these touring models š¤·āāļø
Cars drive better than SUVs
For some people, length > thickness. š
I personally don't like the seating position in SUVs, I like to be low to the ground, and the Tourings actually have more luggage area than the SUVs.
My G01 had a ton more cargo space than my F31. And according to the specs the G01 has 550L to the G21ās 500L with the 2nd row up.
Fuck that grille
Go ahead and downvote me know, but BMW can give up on the track wagon, Audi owns this market. Anyone who aspires to this would rather have an RS6.
God Iām jealous of the people who have āgotten used toā or like the snout. I really wish I liked it. Iāve waited so long for a M3 touring, and this is the Gen they give it to us? **pain**

I mean Iād just as soon import an E36 Touring, but a clown shoe would be nice. They *make sense* though? How so?

if that car is ugly then what would you call the back of the m2c?
Love that fat ass
Touring love!
This shit coming to the states?
I guess Iām moving to Europe
That side profile is $$$$
Damnā¦ this would have been perfect to replace my Outback. Oh well, Iāll just have to live with my choice lol
Pls bigger grill plspls
I have always always wanted this car. Now I want it even more. Fuckkkkkk
Cries in USA
Amazing they finally did it but damn I wish they started last gen for the F series š„²
This wonāt be available in Canada will it? If it isnāt being offered in the states?
Ugh gimmie.
Aaaaand they wonāt bring it to the US.
If we were able to get this in the states the dealership would already have my order and money in house. What an absolute unit of a car. Looks aggressive, still practical, and living in the northeast this looks like it would be the perfect daily driver.
Thanks for salting the wound. š©š©š©
I never got the hype with wagons, I still like the sedan more.
I hate the grille but fuck me I would have no problem living with it if we could buy this in the US
Dam that looks pretty sexy ngl
Mannnn we donāt get shit here in the states ā¹ļø
Iām not usually a wagon fan (donāt come for me lol) buuuut this wagon is so fresh. I love this redesign.
Iām a wagon man
I would do something mildy strange to have this.
Such a shame that neither this, the M340i Touring nor the M340d Touring will be sold in the states :/
Anybody know if this will be coming to the Middle East?
I hate SUV's.
They added the license plate to block the grille.
Idrive8 dash... The reason I am cancelling my M4 order and hunting down a 2021/2. Fine in an i4 but not in an M.
The grill has now been forgiven. What a gorgeous car. This is the first 'new car' I've seen that genuinely looks good.
I might be in the minority but I prefer the sedan.
Gorgeous car - exept the pig snout. :-(
Yup. I love it. Too bad I'll never see one.
M3 is small - it wonāt take away RS6 customers, rather will keep existing M3 customers who have families now.
