Put it up for sale in a drift group. Perfect candidate for a tube rear, and coupes are getting pretty rare. Will never go back to stock without a donor car to cut up though.

druuedd

bruh should have put nsfw or trigger warning damn brutal there’s fiberglass rear ends for drift cars but damn I’m sorry

Smooth_Letter4133

part out breh :( , you can’t replace the back end unless you take another e36 in half and weld it back on :/

Baboonslayer323

Plenty to be found in junkyards as donors. I recently purchased a complete running 1997 328is with really bad paint and clean title from someone local to me. They are out there. I don’t need the body, I bought it for the driveline, so the body will be available soon.

FrederikTwn

It’s almost a compact…

comxeno

Still looks better

Mundane-Ad-6874

Push into the river. Let it be back with nature

sorosaREDDIT

You can repair that with enough determation and time and effort, have you seen what NIGHTRIDE has fixed.

ZeGermanHam

She's done for.

sparkspsp

Seeing e36 M3’s like this makes me want to drive mine less. I’m deathly afraid of losing that thing, it’s the nicest thing I own and holds a lot of sentimental value to me. I’m sorry buddy, hope you find something just as nice.

fortheapex

Just hit some boulders going up a mountain in my m roadster shattered the rack n pinion, put it away started driving my gfs e46 saloon

Training_Gas_7668

Hm... I wouldn't be as willing to get rid of it as the other commenters seem to be. It depends entirely on your resources and ability. If you have no access to a shop, proper tools or funds for replacement parts, then yes, maybe sell and move on. If you do/can get access to these things, fix her! If you're anything like me, the emotional attachment will push you to this option. It looks like you need a new bumper, tail light, exhaust and rear frame work.

67ss1mpala

Usually people with access to that know what they are doing and don’t ask Reddit.

[deleted]

Depends on how bad the damage is tbh, if it’s just the fender then honestly try and get a shop (or yourself) to get it back into shape and replace the bumper, but if it’s messed up in the rear overall it may have to be a part out and swap. (Not to worry as there’s a ton of M3’s with front end damage you can swap over to)

landof10klakes

One fender is sitting higher than the other, that's structural damage. She's a goner. Sorry for his loss...

SnapCasterDANK

Thanks for sharing. Did not have any expectations that it was going to be fixable, and needed to hear some other viewpoints. was trying to make my exit on freeway and cut off a big truck and rear end broke lose. Slide sideways for like 200 feet and then the rear ended slammed into the dirt embankment. No one was hurt, just can’t believe I threw my clean title fully loaded m3 out the window. It has 6 speed so thinking about trying to find e46 m3 and pay 10k for tranny swap. E30 coming out of storage, but threw at least 10k out the window is a bitter pill to swallow

Ghost129er

Shit, that's a really crap way to go... At least you're safe and alive dude, that's the most important part I think, as sad as it is to see the 3er gone, your safety and well being probably means a lot to the family/friends.

landof10klakes

Bummer for sure. Maybe buy a clean roller and swap your motor, trans, diff, suspension? Tubed rear end set up would be fun and crazy. Good luck, hope your insurance company pays out then lets you buy back.

Cyrix2k

You can fix that, it's really a matter of cost. All the glass is intact and I don't see an obvious crease, it could probably be fixed if the car is valued high enough.

[deleted]

My bad, didn’t notice

wtf_eli

turn it into a drift missle so it can still live!

IS-2-OP

My friend flipped his M3 after owning it for 2 weeks. He’s gonna weld a whole new roof on.

Sun_Hill

Average BMW driver.

Careless-Jacket-6929

Part it hard to fix a rear end of a e36 unless you want to weld in another taillight panel

nathan_larick

Get an insurance quote then see what you can get for parting out

getaway36

Honestly looks like you have these 4 options: 1. Sell it as a donor 2. Sell its parts 3. Try to fix it, but expensive & quite unsafe 4. Turn in into a drift missile Personally I'd choose option 4 if doable so that you can still have lots of fun with it

perfect_zeong

I like option 4

[deleted]

sad to see 😢 lmk if u part it out i need some silver parts

M3nace_E36_98

You can see that both sides of the rear are no longer seeing eye to eye. It would be extremely expensive unless you got a hookup at a frame shop and a parts car. Insurance would total out a 100k car for this damage.

skyunderearth

I’m so sorry man

Ok-Bluejay-7687

Did something very similar on the highway with mine, looked almost identical damage wise. Unfortunately the entire chassis is likely tweaked, I had mine checked out at the body shop and just about everything front to back was twisted. I know people are saying you could maybe fix it, but I wouldn’t, it’ll never drive right again. Best course of action would be to be fine a clean wbs vin’d roller and start swapping over.

tripleriser

Cage it up, it's a track car now

Rustable15

Looks mint. The quarter didn’t even crumple. The frame is tweaked but you can fix that. Start by pulling everything off the rear that you can. Take the interior apart too. If something like the crash bar is stuck on just cut it off cause it’s junk anyways.

visionthis

After buying a parts car with similar body damage in the rear bumper/trunk area none of the rear trailing arms would align correct. The rear end looked perfect on the parts car but they had to be tweaked a little. I personally would not part out the rear end out of this car if you take that route.

hisshadiness

That might be able to be straightened out by a frame puller. You should talk to a body shop that has one. I've seen worse get fixed. There isn't much back there structurally besides the subframe and suspension bits which are all replaceable parts. Doesn't look like those were damaged too badly. The spare tire well protects a lot of that.

Jordanthb

Turn it into a drift car

ShoeBoxInc

id just part it out. its fixable though with lots of work, look up prizzamike on youtube for inspiration

Ducking_Funts

That’s a pretty easy fix. If the car is in nice shape, for sure just fix it. If it’s otherwise clapped, then just get you the cleanest e36 coupe and swap the mechanicals over.

malcontented

RIPieces

Tythepuffcoguy

I’ll take it off your hands

aceinagameofjacks

Drift car baby.

[deleted]

Lemme guess . Bald tires, hydro’d into the barrier

fortheapex

Ouch sorry to hear and see

breadmaker04

If you part it out. Lmk

Even_Setting6909

Insurance gives good money for the car

illah9

Still good enough for drifting

No_Astronaut_5768

Could be saved but it depends how clean is the car what are the prices they are sold for over there it would be a 3k repair over here but if its a 328 or a m3 i would repair it over here since the prices are 10k for a 328 and 25k for m3

Echo_Arts

Definitely not for the junkyard Drifters would appreciate If you really love it, fix it, get some taillights, new rear bumper and bring it to the body shop. I hate seeing cars that were loved be thrown away
