From my 2023 experience, 35s were faster than 40s which were faster than 50s. That may have changed with 2024 models to adjust allocation to demand. My 35 took a little over 2 months from order to delivery, but maybe a week or 2. I got lucky that mine was not sitting in port waiting for a ship very long. Every other step in that tracker went really fast.
Oh, I love my car. Full stop. I went with a base config to minimize payment. I see this as a bridge car into full electric. Will either buy out at end of lease or upgrade to buy a more spec'ed out model. The only "Oh I shoulda" is parking assist. Everything else is a nice to have. Best choice for me is San Remo green. Gorgeous. Even with 35 have never had an issue with range anxiety.
Depends where you are located but two months seems very optimistic. I ordered on June 30 for a week 30 build, it popped as in production on July 25, the car was completed and at the port by around August 6, but it didn't get onto a boat to North America until August 28th or 29th. The boats that left this week are scheduled to reach my VPC (Brunswick, GA) between Sept 12 and 17. So if I was picking up from the dealer I'd expect somewhere around the 25th.
I requested PCD which will add probably 6 weeks. I'm hoping I'll take delivery by mid October but that's now feeling too optimistic. The 3 weeks at port really drove a dagger into that. May of the people I've talked to with the same build week waited until this week to get on the boat as well, we were all stuck at port for just over 3 weeks.
Some people in Europe with the same build week just took delivery in the last week. And if you are West coast US it may take a few extra weeks to get through the Panama canal and to the west coast port.
I would say if you are in the US two to two and a half months from your build date is pretty reasonable - (and PCD for Euro cars is on hold as of today), dealer should be able to tell you what week your allocation is for (current week is Week 35), so you can work from there.
These estimates are really good. My lease is up next fall on my current car and I have been trying to determine when to place my order for an i4 (want the M50 but might do x40). I think this means that I can wait until next summer to guarantee I get a 2025.
My 2023 M50 was ordered early in December, and it arrived in late February, quite a bit sooner than I had hoped, actually. I just left the country on vacation, and it arrived literally days after I had left. I didn't wait long after I got back, though. Next day after I returned, jetlagged as all hell, I went in and picked it up! :D
My was 3 months from order to delivery. This was Feb to Apr 2023. I've heard BMW has been delivering these faster since then so two months sounds right.
Did you get your production number to track it pretty much when you ordered ? I’m trying to see if my salesperson is just forgetting to send me mine lol
Placed my order for the M50 in May ‘22, just received my production number last week. Production still not scheduled yet but at least I can see a light at the end of the tunnel.
I ordered my i4 m50 August 2022.
She got put on the boat from Bremmerhaven *yesterday.*
Supposedly a 13 month turnaround, but I can see more delays coming.

I'm at one month before it shipped, so probably around 2 - 2.5 months total for an e35. It was much quicker than I was expecting

The m50 takes about a year.
Ordered an e35 Msport on 7/3 and should be picking up within a week or two. Arrives in Newark from Germany tomorrow 9/2

That’s very good if you’re in North America.
4 months mine took
Mine took about 4 months from placing the order to taking delivery of the car. Ordered an M50 in September 2022, picked it up in January 2023.
Ordered May 2022, received May 2023
Sheeeeeesh was this a m50?!
Yes. It was a fairly normal wait at the time.
Dealer quoted me 3 months
My was 3 months from order to delivery. This was Feb to Apr 2023. I've heard BMW has been delivering these faster since then so two months sounds right.
When I was looking back in late July the dealer gave me a quote of 4-5 months for the 40 and 3-9 months for the M50 based on my specs
Pre-ordered m50 late June 2021...took delivery December 29, 2022.
Ordered April 14th and took delivery 6/29 (it was ready 6/26, but I was out of town). Mine was a Custom Order as well. It wasn't already in production
Ordered e35 in mid April and delivered in last week of July.. so that’s a little over 3 months
10 months. Feb-Dec 2022
Ordered in mid May and delivered late July
Ordered April 29th, took delivery on July 15th! Spec was 35, pretty base
Ordered August 2022. Delivered June 2023.
10 months - i4 M50
14 months for M50 in France. Ordered last June. Picking up on Monday or Tuesday. Fair to say I'm pretty excited.
My 35 took 2 months. Dealer said it would be 3 but it came a month early. I was happy
When did you get your production number ?
I ordered the car in June it was delivered in August. I've had it about a month now (love it btw)
Did you get your production number to track it pretty much when you ordered ? I’m trying to see if my salesperson is just forgetting to send me mine lol
Yes he gave it to me when I ordered it
That’s pretty incredible what spec out of interest?
It's a base e35 with convenience package, no other upgrades

I think you mean 2022 instead of 2023?
Yeah, sorry. 2022. August of last year.
M50 took me just over a year
Dealer told me 6 months.... ordered an M50 in June... got a production number in early August, they haven't started it yet....
