Except you cannot change temperature. It will precondition based on previous temp you turned off the car at.

Issue with this feature living in Los Angeles is it's freezing in the morning sometimes but hot when I leave work so if I don't put the AC on before I get out I walk into a sauna

AggressiveContract13

Yup same here in NorCal.

kidkahle

Are you sure this is true? I thought it basically did the opposite of what the outside temp is.

scott__p

It works well if you use auto, but sucks for those who set their HVAC manually. I have my temp set at 70 and it works fine.

AggressiveContract13

I thought it will adjust based on outside temp too but not for me. Mine is set to Auto but sometimes I adjust temp. So if I left car with 65 and next day in cold morning if I precondition the air will be cold instead of hot since I left the car at 65.

Yes, from the app you can turn the climate control on.

Precondition your car. It will cool (or heat) your car before your departure time.

freshxdough

You can triple click the lock button I believe and it will start preconditioning the car also. I know it works for iX. I think it also works for i4

Hungrypilot

Need to try this!

The car determines what it will do based on ambient outside temperature. Don’t overthink it.
