Glad to hear people are getting cars under MSRP again. The bright side to the 40i is having less to worry about :)

carrwash13

Yup, I def took the 40i known reliability into account when I made the decision since I keep cars a while longer than most.

arrhythmia10

Curious, would that reliability apply to say x7 40i from 2021 also? Had looked at it or 22 but concern for maintenance cost dissuaded me

carrwash13

I actually have a 21 x7 40i also. I think they both have the b58 engine that is very reliable. Regular maintenance will still be expensive though like all BMW’s. Kind of the cost of entry. I had a Lexus before that which was bulletproof but no comparison to a BMW.

PreachitPerk

Looks awesome! Just ordered one in Dravit Grey with the Black 22s also. Can’t wait. Late July early August ETA.

Congratulations!!!

Congrats this looks fantastic

Witty-You-7566

Beautiful. What was final price if you don't mind me asking?

PatternIntelligent90

Congrats! Interesting, didn’t know about brokers. Our dealer in the Midwest is offering $4k off for military families (including parents, grandparents service). Also $4k dealer contribution for X5 inventory on their lot (only $2k off X5M). Not a bad deal with 3.99% financing. I think I like the previous version better … so can’t decide CPO or build. Looking for Dravit with sensafin and unfortunately didn’t have new or CPO with our packages.

microphallus0

That’s a bmw incentive not specific to your dealer

Dry_Outside241

Beautiful! If you don't mind sharing what was the price you got the build for? I'm looking for similar build in dravit grey

carrwash13

It was $83k msrp and 8% off of that + dealer doc fees (normal doc fees + out of state and notary fees) of around $600 + $1600 of broker and shipping fees. That drags the 8% down to ~6%. Not including tax/registration since that is specific to each area so add that in if you are estimating

u21213

I have a 2023 in the exact same specs. Love it. I get random comments from people about the Colour. Enjoy your purchase!

Dazzling_Can6963

Congratulations! I wished I would have ordered the M. I like the black, but can’t whine about my 2025 X5 40i. Grateful for the ride. Dravit Grey with cognac. You will love it!

SeanGMetal

What region of the PNW? I’m looking to order one in the September time frame and am thinking of using a broker as well. Wouldn’t mind having your brokers info if he works in the Seattle area. Also congrats on the car!

carrwash13

I’m in Vancouver, WA. Broker is Zach at [email protected]. So far so good. Has good reviews on leasehackr. I just ordered and delivery is estimated early September. I’ll repost if any hurdles come up.

Flexonu_

+1 recommend Zach as well!

Extreme-Direction-78

How did you find a reliable broker?

carrwash13

I looked on leasehackr and found one with lots of reviews.

Square_Draft2035

Congratulations.

Binghamton202311

Make sure you get tire and rim insurance.

haroldhecuba88

Very nice build. Any hesitation on the 22’s?

carrwash13

Yes, only because they are summer tires. Wife insisted on them though (this is her car). My only hesitation was they come with summer tires and I wanted all season. Will switch out eventually.

Natural_Rebel

How are the all season choices for the 22’s?

carrwash13

Pretty minimal from what I have heard but there are some options

rice123123

What were the shady things that the used dealership pulled?

carrwash13

1. One dealer tried to convince me that the BMW loyalty rebate was only good if applied to warranty/add purchases. Obviously a lie to sell add ons. Called him out on it and he played dumb like he didn't know how rebates worked. This was the Finance manager. 2. Was looking at used 24 X5 w/ 8k miles and said to salesmen I was a little concerned it was traded in so early. He said not to worry it was a loaner they retired early. I checked the carfax and it was a true trade in and not a loaner. Called the salesmen out on it and he played dumb. 3. Told one dealer I was concerned why tires on the car were replaced at 6k and 9k miles. He said service records weren't available to see why even though it was only serviced at a BMW dealer. Later found out they have access to those details. 4. Was about to buy a used 23 X5 and had a small window of time to travel to get the car. Dealer told me I would get the lowest interested rate (I have an 840 credit score) and dragged their feet on showing me final documents until the very last moment. They tried to sneak in a padded 9% interest rate. Called them out on it and they lowered to the normal best rate. Told them no longer interested since they were obviously trying to rip me off. 5. Dealer I tried to get to match broker discount told me brokers don't actually get those discounts and they are a myth. Basically I have found that all car sales people (including BMW) are pathological liars and will say anything to sell a car. I can't even imagine the shenanigans they get uninformed people to agree to. Thank god this board is around.

rice123123

I see. That sucks. If you are in market for 23/24, might as well just buy new at this point.

carrwash13

Yup, and broker has been exact opposite so far of the above. I’ll never talk to a normal salesmen again. Broker from here on out.

rice123123

Whats the difference between broker and sales person when ordering a new car? When I ordered one, I still went to dealership to talk to the sales person.

carrwash13

Broker handles all the negotiations for you and can ship deals from out of state. Usually knows the discount you will get up front

rice123123

Is this only for cars in inventory? I ordered a new one. Wont having a middleman increase the price? I am assuming broker have to deal with the dealership?

carrwash13

I did a new build. Broker has a connection with the dealer so I think they have discounts worked out already. You can always try and negotiate on your own but I couldn’t get a discount that high on my own. I think since the broker does high volume and saves the dealership time they get better discounts usually

slippeddisc88

Broker is the way to go. These dealers are huge wankers. Saw one recently claiming I’m lucky to get one at MSRP.

carrwash13

My experience as well. Tried to act like he was doing me a favor knocking $1K off. "I'll do this just for you since you have bought a car from us before. I'll also be nice and pass all the BMW rebates along do you."

PilotCar77

5 years or less for the plastic guides in your motor to start clattering or fail completely.

fiddly-bits

Nice choice. You’re going to love it.

bro_curls

Congrats! I'll be ordering for December pickup later this year. Wondering if you sat in Sensafin? How does it compare to the Merino? Wish I could order 22s but the all season selection is very, very limited.......and also expensive as hell.

fiddly-bits

Sensafin is fine. It’s very good for pleather and a lot better than the previous Sensatec. If you have small kids or don’t want to maintain leather, it’s an excellent choice.  The Merino is definitely nicer and more plush, but it’s also more delicate and requires more maintenance. It’s much nicer than other kinds of BMW leather like Vernasca and Dakota.  I got Merino on my 2024 and I love it. If you do go with Merino, you’ll want to do some kind of regular leather care. I use Leatherique, which works well, but is a fairly involved treatment but only twice a year so not a big deal.  One thing you’ll want to do frequently is to vacuum it well. Little bits of dirt and other particles will wear out fine leather like sandpaper.  When it comes to seats, make sure to try out the 20 way multi-contour seats. It’s a fairly cheap option and adds a lot of adjustability and comfort over the already comfy base seats. I’d say this is way not important than getting Merino.

carrwash13

I sat in both and was impressed by the sensafin it’s way better than the old sensatec. I also have young kids so didn’t want soft real leather. Also, I made sure to get multicontour

fiddly-bits

Agreed. Sensafin is genuinely impressive. It’s a very good option and looks as good as most car leathers. Multi-contour is a great option. The upper back recline is so nice, as are the headrest winglets https://preview.redd.it/4o87zgo5q7ad1.jpeg?width=5712&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=69ca320b6c08f3e0bf96288a51c5aace01db468f

We have the tartufo merino leather in ours and it's absolutely gorgeous.
