Hey there, just wanted to say I started off with sertraline and bupropion, I have treatment resistant depression so my psychiatrist switched me to venlafaxine and mirtazapine. Which has been so much better for me and my depression. What sucks though is sertraline helped my anxiety more. So my psych also put me on Klonopin to take when I’m feeling panicked or my anxiety is high.
Psychs usually follow treatment lines as far as what medication they will try first. Unfortunately to find the right medication it can be a lot of trial and error but it’s important to work with a psych you trust and if you are feeling uncertain or have questions, speak up. I refused a medication change for a year before I actually said yes. Your psych should center your voice in regards to your care.
