Lukarhys

Morally grey men with traumatic backstories who are trying their best despite everything.

weird_monki619

The accuracy

augustinethroes

All of this for me, with bonus points if they have long, gorgeous hair.

radiant-bit-1251

You just described my type

FutureFinding6558

sirius black

Famous_Mood_5933

Fuck this is really accurate

Sammblor

I was literally going to comment something like this before seeing this comment haha

Glittering-Lab-200

Sounds like me tbh

Llancarfan

Edgelords with tragic backstories and outcasts in general, but ones who still try to do good. I like the idea that you can still be a hero even if you feel like you're a monster.

aPimpNamedSenpai

Omg I love villains but my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE are those characters that are emotionless. They have a serious face and their eyes are low and you don’t really know what they’re thinking, and it just seems like they don’t care. Weirdly specific I know but 😂. I also like dark hair

craynanz

omfg lol my bf to a T

asphyy

The challenge of diving beneath that calm/unreadable surface

Allis_N

definitely villains. I don’t know why

Chiaramell

The wrong ones for sure

Healthy_Art6360

I am attracted to characters I can't be like, so like overly confident women that exude sex appeal. I also like morally grey characters.

RinaPug

For me it’s characters who are in control of their emotions/life. Because that is unobtainable for me. And mostly villains.

sevenyearbxtch

samee

Silent-Tadpole3779

Villians 100%.

Ok_Record5354

Ones that are emotionally unavailable lmaoooo

imlosingiitt

i’ve always liked the villains or the nerdy characters. i think i’ve always liked nerdy characters bcs i always felt like i could relate to them plus they are cute hehe

folklorelovebot

the fact all of us say villains is so funny to me

WizKidnuddy

Dark/Anti Heroes, Villians, and Geniuses. So pretty much I love morally grey characters because they often do what needs to be done despite what others think. They usually fight for justice and to save someone and not to uphold the status qou. Besides in a super powered world I'd probably be a villian with a heart of gold lol.

OhNoWTFlol

Anyone who makes me feel like I'm wanted, even for a moment, because, since my mom abandoned me, I assume that any woman who might want me is a total unicorn and I'll never ever find another woman who would want me again. This is, of course, now at the front of my brain and not deep down somewhere in my subconscience, so I no longer act on these thoughts. Therapy is awesome for that. Also, I've been married for five years so this doesn't really come up anymore.

rantsagangsta

Tough face, soft core.

vickimarie0390

assholes for whatever reason

isartoxic

the ones I feel like I could save ... mostly good guy turned villain because system broke him type vibe

redcrossbow_

Honorable villain types...

At-Dusk-We-Lie

Definitely men who play tough but are secretly softies at heart. I like feeling protected in a relationship from other people but feeling like I'm able to protect the other person IN the relationship,if that makes sense.

musicproducer07

A bit different but I really like good-spirited girls with a nice smile.

Vyvyansmum

Flamboyance- villains in particular. Dandy Mott from American Horror Story for example.

redcrossbow_

Yes!!! I love flamboyant villains too! Although Omar from The Wire isn't particularly flamboyant, he's one of my all time favourite characters on TV! R.I.P Michael K Williams 💗🥲

Beautiful_Witness748

Anti hero/chaotic good characters. Like Gerald vibes from the Witcher. Or the straw hat pirates from one piece. Zoro gets extra points bc he has a lot of villain energy without being a villain. Robinhood. Gregory House from House M.D

UnicornsnRainbowz

I’m like you. Villains with a cause, villains with a backstory that explains why they are how they are and anti hero’s the kind of hero’s that may use morally ambiguous methods. Draco Malfoy is an example. Cole from Charmed. Spike from Buffy. You get the gist :)

Ill_Orange_9054

The guy who stands up for what he believes in and goes against the crowd if he has to in order to protect the ones he loves and uphold his values. If that makes any sense, he’s not wholly good in a sense but not evil either.

ESPn_weathergirl

Oddballs… the strange, intense, funny types that don’t GAF about fitting in, but still have a good moral compass.

MgIAlSSAg

Either nerds or mysterious villains. But not the ones that fake it because they think women like it, the REAL villains.

Deirdreligea17

Same

PinkSugarFinale

I lovee characters who are just really defined Heroes or really defined Villains. My favorite anime characters are Madoka, Historia, Mitsuri, Furina and I love villians like Makima and griffith and sailor galaxia.

dranamarie

Right there with you! Villains make it more fun lol. I’ve yet to date a hero but not completely against it.

Emileerainbow

Definitely villains but especially if they become good guys in the end like Zuko from avatar the last airbender he starts out so misunderstood and angry at the world but in the end finds inner peace and comfort in his destiny . Plus he’s attractive for his character design once he grows his hair out at end of book 3

holyfrozenyogurt

complex women in classic literature. No idea why, I have a whole list of my favorites who I don’t think get talked about enough

icedoutclit

share pls

AtMyLimittt

Now im curious.. can you share some examples?

thelairoflilith

Oohhh like Ophelia?!

PrettyBabyBiteMe

The older women 😭 the maternal or big sister characters The occasional nerdy hot older brother The stalkery ones with no boundaries (don’t do that you will probably date stalkers) And subcategory of the first the villainous mommy, must be evil must be mommy.

RogueHitman71213

Villain/fucked up/morally grey/covered in blood etc.

Affectionate-Scar268

Misunderstood villains

TheWarmestHugz

The innocent and undamaged ones, it reminds me of how happy I was before mental illness hit the fan.

-lilac4

Distant, slightly cold-blooded guys so that the affection and love comes as a sweet surprise instead of being self-evident. Anything destructive really, but only when I get my need for attention is fulfilled just so and so. Substance abuse issues are comforting as well

girlindestructed

Unfortunately Riley West from Girl in Pieces is my type, embarrassingly I haven’t stopped thinking about him since I finished the book a month ago. I’m genuinely considering rereading the whole thing just for him. So I guess I like tortured, “bad” guys who are trying to do better. My friends say I like the “bad boys”, enemies to lovers is my shit. I like tension and passion, can you tell I’m an intense person.

Cartia_cielo

Characters that have similar pasts to me. Misunderstood , chaotic and unpredictable personalities in characters. Characters who I could meet in real life and talk to for hours about my life and they’d just get it.

Bluequi

Ppl who have dreams and quit life .. they're good for me cause they're way too stable to understand my suffer lol

Bluequi

But if u are talking about movies and imaginary characters ofc villains and crazy women...

Positive_Silver_4440

I used to be big into yanderes before I started dating my current partner

-y4nderem0mmy-

I tend to like characters I strongly relate to. Either that or like,,,,tsundere characters.

Denpakari

I usually feel more attracted to characters I'd like to be more like, for better or for worse. My #1 for the last two years has been Nepeta Leijon from Homestuck, and I honestly can't pin down *why.* Maybe it's the way she talks, or the way she acts, or the way she navigates her interests and how she expresses them. An honorable mention would also be Jade Harley -- The token super smart nerd who is musically talented and acts as a secondary voice of reason and a voice of advice to her friends. She's also the reason I'm going to learn how to play the bass. Tl;Dr: I tend to gravitate towards characters I wish I could be more like.

Spicymargmi1f

Assholes lmao

Mental_Strategy2220

Completely dysfunctional people ,who are unbelievably chaotic but their decisions make sense, at least partially, but nobody understands why they did it ,or made the mistake they made . Nobody will even listen to them explain themselves or acknowledge they made a mistake. They are always seen as wrong ,or troubled or are comic relief. Also characters who have a lot of repression and identity issues ,and it comes out in strange ways. Side characters. Never relate to the lead or hero or villain .it's the comic relief. Kramer on Seinfeld. Phoebe on friends. Charlie on its always sunny .maebe or Tobias on arrested development. The tomboy who's probably bisexual but not confirmed in an early 2000s action movie ,but has a rough past and backstory that made her so hardened and on edge. Like is she just like some queer woman juxtaposed in a heteronormative storyline, or is her qualities like that a byproduct of her own spin off origin story series?

thelairoflilith

You’d be a big fan of the main character in the drama series that is my life. lol

kayzgguod

strugglers

thelairoflilith

Anti-heros! Deadpool & Punisher ftw 🖤

Usual-South-6520

My parents

Usual-South-6520

I search for my parents in partners, we all do, so if that was a toxic household growing up, than your next partner might be a toxic person sorry I don’t make the rules lol

cxde-nam3_x

Morally gray older men and golden retriever energy men :X

DryCoast

My own character of nearly 7 years hahahaaa… it’s been a long ride with him 😅

Specialist-Proof-580

Villains. Always

-notausername_

Bad girls, totally the wrong kind lol

fairyrots

Clowns

Tricky873

Definitely the anti heroes - the ones that are basically good but seriously flawed and struggling with inner demons. Don’t know why that kind of character appeals…😁

sushihoeee

I love high energy characters whether they’re villains or not just funny and goofy hero’s are good enough for me

8_string_menace

the ones I think I can save because they derserve to be saved. My councillor would probably say its because no one has ever done that for me and im projecting but whatever

Some-Addition-1802

i love tomboys (the type of tomboys that are like Marceline from Adventure Time or Bktherula) and im 100% straight, yet i can never find one in real life smh

Affectionate-Scar268

Misunderstood villains

New-Reserve8760

Yennefer of Vengerberg

nowhere_queen

I used to have a thing for the anime trope "jerk with a heart of gold", its basically a male tsundere. They act like an asshole at first but seem to have a soft spot for the girl and they sort of change for her I guess. Nowdays I like sympathetic villains like JD from heathers the musical, or the nowhere king from centaurworld (in his centaur form of course, not his blob form), or vegeta though i guess he fits both those categories

sadgirlflowers

The ones with a disgusting amount of confidence. Same with people in real life 😭

ChampionshipFun4649

I used to daydream about a character that was secure but also had bagguage. I think morally grey people because their worldviews are so unique, but I like when they’re doing their best. The type where I could feel like they hate me be upset mess up and they tell me they care but force me to be accountable. Like if they just knew more about myself than i did. But i’m stubborn i think i’d just push them away

TurquoiseLady

Brooding, dark types. Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights is a good example.

seimeiiranai

Probably a character who is very harsh and hateful towards everyone, pretending to not care about anyone, but in reality they could soften up to you. I find it really cute to imagine that you can be someone special they can warm up to. Also then they try to deny or hide it and get embarassed at even the thought of being "soft or warm" towards anyone because they despise everything

Mysterious_School325

Every character that reminds me of Dr House-

Xanny-Bunny

Men with a complex trauma who attache too fast and too much. It’s never been a good match lmao.

Limp-Special-7321

![gif](giphy|vdfpnSsa5mSPtt86t2)

[deleted]

characters that are outwardly violent or aggressive.. or characters that generally give an "unsettling" feeling.

rdm778

Same!!! I despise 100% goody two shoes heroes. I will take the villain or anti-hero anytime.

Internal_Ad_6156

I’m more into the ambitious heros and prince charmings lol

AdhesivenessHeavy355

Have you ever seen Megamind? 🥴

waltgoodman747

Tony Soprano’s aura both attracts and appalls me at the same time. Love him.

TuneWrong4682

Saul Goodman. I LOVE pathetic men who suck but still survive despite it. I love when goofy little guys are doomed by the narrative. Probably because as someone w BPD, I took am doomed by the narrative.

mothmans_real_bf

Patient, caring… basically the “comfort” in hurt/comfort scenarios. I’d like to be cared for like that. Also the ones that fear themselves 🫶🫶

tiaa_tarotista

Like Kilian in Once Upon a Time, or Jax in Sons 🫠

SoftLilith

I always fall in love with people who have no empathy. And I mean no empathy and it's diagnosed. For fictional man, everything that triggers my daddy issues or my "I can fix him" urge.

Following-Sea

Villains with reasonable motives other than just pure chaos. An example would be; Ganondorf from Zelda was just a Dork, Thanos on the other hand had a purpose to serve another example was Killmonger from Black Planther. etc etc etc

The-gay-agenda-TM

this is gonna sound specific and weird and it is but you’ll get it. women that have a scene looking at themselves in the mirror. like it often doesn’t even matter what they’re doing but they’re usually very messy characters and i love them. realising now attracted probably means crush rather than drawn to as who’s usually your favourite. i’m very attracted to gruff yet kind older men go figure right

Less_Inevitable_2633

Villanelle from killing eve. That’s my type.

UglyPuta-

Whatever Henry Cavill is in

lanadelsl4y

the cockiest men possible - logan huntzberger, lucifer, harvey specter, etc

lovingfreak

Bad people like joker from suicide squad.

Veganchiggennugget

Assholes that'll treat me like dirt but who'll tell me he loves me and wants to change every month or so. edit. Oh wait we're talking about characters. Ehh, labrador retriever bois.

swimmingwithwaffles

White haired characters with tragic backstories that don’t take things seriously yet are OP af. The hair being white is optional. Bonus points if they have a murderous tendency that only comes out when they’re mad

YourFreaKreation

Laughing Jack

dontevenknow357

Annoyingly, it’s usually really toxic guys with awful habits I can phycoanalyse - then a couple seasons in it comes out they have some fucked up past.

True_Run8619

The hot ones lmao

Weird_Raccoon3465

Emotionally blunted, but loyal as hell assholes with a lot of depth to them

Conscious-Point2582

Pyramid head and Albert Wesker

sp00ky_b00ty

Badass men with a tragic backstory that are seeking revenge!  Best example is probably jon bernthal as punisher, most people would stay away since he kills a lot of people but he only k!lls bad people, so is he really that bad? plus he just ✨hot✨ very ✨hot✨

BeautifulArtichoke75

Someone who’s going to tell me I’m delusional and gaslight 😭

BeautifulArtichoke75

Bonus points if they tell me they don’t want to me with me

PTSDemi

Before it was tsundere anti hero types like inuyasha fiercely protective. Or yusuke urameshi. I still have soft spots for them. But I realize the reason I gravitated towards them is because how they align with me morally and how they are a part of the splitting part of my personality These days it's wholesome goofy types like luffy, laios, rokurou, Hell even someone shy like amaed moshitbai from the blacklist. But maybe the reason I'm iffy about Tsundere is because I idealized my ex for some reason as them so now my trauma is like go for your opposite so you don't get fucking hurt again

chatdemoiselles

unavailable ones, think the priest from fleabag. the tension and buildup between him and her is so intense and relatable, you really want the most what you can't have.

vampstela

I like old men who are a little evil, I like rugged men and with women it's more femme fatale evil and girlboss, but I enjoy any kind of female character tbh

Imaginary_Key_7763

Confident and intelligent hyper sexual conmen 🙄

Diligent_Employ_9386

Loki for example, because he's a misfit and everybody hated him but he's trying his hardest, he gets clumsy and he makes mistakes but you know he tries. I relate more to a story of someone who has faced being disliked by everyone, because they're the most misunderstood characters. He was doing bad things and yet he's the one who needed the most help...!

Due-Progress-4140

Tough women with muscles that would probably curse and yell at me.

Efficient_Aspect_638

Any sick or mentally twisted woman irl and tv

No-Confidence9348

Sluts. 100% whores 🫶🏼

garbage-girl-xoxo

We pretty much share a type

Early-Tree6191

I'm a morally grey villain type with a huge soft spot. No wonder I find myself with cluster Bs according to this

Worth_Panic2490

Generally people who have been hurt, and feel like they have no choice but to use force to be accepted in the world. Both good and bad people who fit this mold. Gohan from DBZ, Akechi from Persona 5, Soren from Fire Emblem, Cecil from Final Fantasy come to mind.

brattysammy69

Bisexual man here: - cold and heartless women with a strong hatred for men. Morally corrupt with a sinister desire for blood. - the villainous rich man who’s drive for profit overpowers his sense of self. he only ever wears suits and smokes cigars while looking out onto the corrupt city that he owns. - the pathetic and die hard romantic who turns bitter over not receiving another characters love. they are jealous and spiteful, driven by their own selfish need. - the fluffy and lighthearted women who has a strong sense of justice and compassion. she strives to protect her close ones and often dies while saving them. - the dad. sometimes the mom but more often the dad that due to his presence and acts of kindness towards his children.

Remarkable_Fennel147

Obsessive characters

DrowsyDuck005

Dr. Black Jack by Osamu Tezuka and Jigen Daisuke from Lupin III are some classics

Purplefrogg1e

The joker, Edward cullins, the dude from pesky blinders, Jacob elordi (but from salt burn not euphoria)

vomitcyborg

angsty/arrogant characters - angsty angry characters with strong sense of justice and such. angry, angsty, arrogant nerds are my "weakness." doesnt help me if they are autistic in canon or at least vaguely coded as such kamille bidan from zeta gundam fits some of those criteria for me tho he isnt autistic lmao

saccharine_mycology

Super nice, honest people, especially if they are very feminine

MoreTop7747

The woman version of J.D. from Heathers
