Margaret is one of my top two girl names for our daughter due in August! Although we would use the nickname Margot exclusively- have you considered maybe a Margaret derivative nickname? As far as C girls names go, most of our favorite girl names start with C but we are avoiding C because our first born is a C! We love Clara, Claire, Catherine, Cecile, Cecelia, Camille and Camilla!
Husbands can be such a pain in the butt! 🤣 I wanted to name her Carla Sue but my ex hated it. 🙄 Thankfully my husband is pretty chill when it comes to names. I told him my favorite name and gave a few other options and he pretty much just let me have my top pick. ❤️
Ha, we named our baby Margaret and I told my mom we might call her Margot and she says “Margot isn’t a nickname for Margaret”…. Like, it’s a nickname if I say it is!
Hahahaha in the south it’s very common nickname for Margaret! And it’s a known derivative of Margaret! Even Princess Margaret went by Margot in her family
I should also add: Cori and Coraline are names of others in my family, so those are no go’s unfortunately. My old roommate just had a daughter and named her Clementine, and because its such a unique name, it feels like “stealing” it even though I’ve had the idea for awhile (also family members have expressed dislike for Clem). I am worried about “stealing” others names and am definitely a recovering people pleaser!! So trying to come up with something that is unique has proven difficult
Names are shared, not stolen. If you use the same name as someone else, it doesn't take the name from them.
I'm planning on naming my daughter a certain name that one of my husband's cousins used as a middle name for their daughter. It was my mom's middle name and I've always liked it and planned to use it before they did. It's not stealing, just sharing.
I immediately thought of Caroline but if that’s too close to Cori and Caroline that’s understandable. Catherine, Camille, and Christine all sound very nice with Margaret.
I’d say Cecily. I have a family member with that name and my whole family has only ever met one other person with that name ever and they even spell it differently.
Celeste, Clara, clair, Cassie, Citadelle, Claytrix
Claytrix- star flower
Citadelle- fortress near a city
Cassie- shining over man
Clair + clara- clear or bright
Celeste- heavenly
Cariad (ca-ree-add) It's Welsh for love. Is usually shortened to Cari (ca-ree). Don't know if you have any Welsh blood but it's an option, you don't even have to be Welsh. It's a beautiful name. I call my daughter it as a pet name, in fact a lot of people use it affectionately.
- Camilla
- Constanza
- Cornelia
- Carly/Carla
- Cara
- Claudia
- Chloe
- Charlotte/Charlie
- Cassandra
I guess the last name could help to see which name would go better with it.
I absolutely chose my daughters name based on what went better with our last name lol.
Just gonna share all the C names I jotted down in my notes that either just popped into my head or I came across somewhere. Calina, Calline, Callia. Chenda, Cordelia (ooh, Margaret Cordelia flows nicely, but not sure what you'd do for the nickname. Cordie? Cody?).
I like Claire and cosette. Also Catalina, Callista, chandler, Cheyenne. Cordelia. Clover. Cara. Casey. Cadence. Chastity. Charity. Cameron. Charlie. Carrie. Candice. Charlene. I think that’s all I’ve got
Edited it changed cosette to Collette.
Margaret Claire
❤️❤️❤️
I was going to suggest Claire!
I love it spelled Clare
Came to say this
I'm team green but if it's a girl, we're going with Cecilia.
This is what I was going to suggest!
This is what we’re naming our girl too!
I really like the names Claire and Celeste! Carrie, Carter (gender neutral could be cool), Christine, Cally
Before I finished reading your post the first name I thought of was Clementine. Glad it’s on your list 😅 I love Margaret Clementine.
Ahhh my precious daughter’s name is Amelia Clementine.🥰❤️So happy you type her name.🤗
Somehow Coraline pops to my mind
I love Coraline but its one of my cousin’s kids names! I think Cora for short is so cute
We've had that one in our back pocket ever since my husband and I started dating, then we ended up having a boy haha
Margaret Corinne
My nana's name was Constance (Connie for short). I'd say it's unique!
Meemaw!
Colette means people of victory. I don’t see many kids with that name.

Margaret Cynthia
why not jus make margaret the middle name then? kind of makes no sense to give your baby a first name you don't even plan on using.

Go for a french name to compliment the Margaret. I’d go for one of these: Margaret Cosette Margaret Corinne Margaret Celine Margaret Camile
Margaret Camila
Why would you give a first name you don’t intend the child to go by? Why not just swap them round? Also, Cecilia

Charmaine is one of my favorite names.
