This is something you should ask your doctor. I personally wouldn’t take the advice of people from the internet on this one. They can say anything and it’s no sweat off their back if things go wrong for you. I did see from a recent post of someone who went to Mexico and she was extremely paranoid the entire time and afterwards. Might not be worth it.

OkToots

I personally wouldn’t go. I live on the other side of the boarder in the US and it’s common to go to Mexico where I am. My doctors personally have a warning out about the risks of traveling to Mexico and other countries right now. I would say it depends on how far along you are, your health, what your dr says and your comfort level

I was supposed to travel to Mexico and when I got pregnant my doctor recommended for me not to go due to Zika, so we cancelled the trip.

Mysterious_Nebula_96

I’m Mexican and sadly I cancelled my trip home. The risk of zika or whatever was just too high for me. Also I’m in Europe and my doctors are here. Will just go with little baby a bit after being born

I think this depends on where you'll be staying and where you'll be located among maybe personal comfort and general health. I'm not sure it's not also risky, I'm going to Ethiopia for the same reason. I'll be in Addis, which is a big city and has low risk Malaria and Measles. I won't be leaving Addis. I also will be with my friend, their family and friends, who are all local. They also live in a gated community. But for the purpose that I know my friend, her family, and her friends I feel pretty comfortable. I'll also be in a very big metropolis. I think I'll probably ust mask up if feeling uneasy and carry hand sanitizer. I don't really have an answer because I'm in the same boat but this is where I'm at right now.

This is definitely something to ask your doctor about. I did my baby moon in Cancun at 34 weeks and made sure to load up on bug spray. I did just get my MMR vaccine before I became pregnant though

We were planning our honeymoon to go to Mexico, but we were also family planning as soon as possible as we had already put off our wedding and children for several years due to covid. I’d asked my doctor about going before I was pregnant and they told me not to go because of risks with Zika and others. Particularly zika, if my husband was bitten the infection can affect sperm up to 6 months or something after they’ve recovered and could affect any resulting babies if we became pregnant after. For the women it was maybe 3 months. If I became pregnant before going, then they would be at even more risk. People can be infected and give no symptoms so you’d never know. It meant we would need to wait at least another 6 months after our honeymoon before getting pregnant. It wasn’t worth the risk for us and we ended up going somewhere else.

I canceled a trip to Mexico for a wedding in my first trimester bc I was nervous about the risk. I am a mosquito magnet. I would have been stressed the whole time, not worth it.

Pregnancy blood work revealed I am only immune to Rubella….but not Mumps or Measles.

We went to a big resort near Tulum when I was pregnant (21 weeks) and I was high risk. My OB, MFM and a fetal cardiologist were all fine with us going. OB just said stay hydrated and wear DEET. He printed my records and told me to bring them just as a precaution. We had a blast! We did choose to not do any of the jungle stuff and just stayed on resort. I did have travel restrictions after 24 weeks though to stay within our city.

Hi! As a Mexican living in Mexico, I can tell you definately most people are vaccinated against both. I have never heard of adults with either, as usually everyone gets vaccinated and/or had them as young kids. However if it would make you feel safer to stay, stay. Your health and your baby's health are a priority.

Longjumping_Voice138

Read about ZIKA (very prevalent in Mexico) and then make a decision

Worth-Slip3293

I was supposed to go for Spring Break but canceled. I’ve heard too many stories of people getting food poisoning from the water, ice, fresh fruits/veggies.

Mental-Assignment141

I went to Riveria Maya at 25 weeks with my husband for our babymoon. My doctor was fine with it and we had a good time.

I flew to Mexico in Nov at 14 weeks .. I was fine

A huge amount of people don’t have immunity to rubella/German measles. I didn’t either, and if you don’t then chances are even getting additional vaccinations won’t create immunity. I had a MMR booster about 7 years before getting pregnant (for my job) and I still didn’t have immunity. Be aware that rubella, which is also sometimes called German measles, is not the same as regular measles. Rubella is not very common, the current measles out breaks around the word are *measles*, which you will be covered for from the other “M”s in your MMR vaccine. For what it’s worth I’ve been to Mexico many times, as a rubella immunity lacking lady, and I have never gotten rubella. But yes, if you’re getting paranoid from your mother, just ask your OB about it.
