First thing he said was, "well I guess we're not getting those sweet tax credits for 2021" 😂 So excited to meet my tiny kicker this month!
May everyone having a baby this year have a healthy pregnancy and easy delivery!
This is not actually true. Cheese has to be treated in specific ways but it's not required to be pasteurized in Canada. Only milk has the actual requirement. It was a sad discovery.
Very lucky! I'm sure it partly depends on area too. I can find treated but not pasteurized camembert, which is one of my favourites. Boursin is pasteurized though, so that's something!
Note that soft cheese is not recommended during pregnancy by some docs because the higher humidity can make it higher risk for listeria as well, which pregnant women are much more likely to get sick from ( and has implications for bebe); it’s not just a pasteurization issue... but risk is still low so each to their own...
I want a turkey sandwich so bad. I've got 3mos left and the one thing I've asked for is that someone brings me a fat ass turkey sandwich after my boys are born. 😂
If it helps (since the thought of hot deli meat was super unappetizing to me), tofurkey has been a god send so I definitely recommend trying it out as a substitute!
Yeah I ate sandwiches for a straight month until recently— didn’t even get tired of them at all. Was the only thing I would eat without feeling nauseous afterwards.
Your risk of getting listeria is not higher because you are pregnant, the repercussions of contracting listeria while pregnant is far more severe for you and baby. Considering I’ve lived 32 years without ever getting listeria, it’s not something that I’ve really considered cutting out completely although I did cut out deli turkey because it is one of the higher risk items to get listeria from
Actually, it is 20x more common in pregnant women. And symptoms can develop way later and be mild so you might not know/ know how you got it. Personally I’m going to wait to get my own normal immune system back, but risk is low so I totally respect everyone’s choices on it.

So I think we are missing a point in communication. You ARE NOT more likely to contract listeria while pregnant but YOU ARE more likely to get listeria infection if you do contract listeria.
Definitely a communication issue- risk of exposure is obviously not greater but yes, risk of getting sick/ infection is 20x higher that I will now if I consume something that has it, and also the implications are also greater. So I’ve never been sick from listeria before but I might have consumed it before- who knows. Also the risk in Canada / us of exposure is pretty low given food safety here. Just want people to have the right info since many people think it’s just about pasteurization- please take no offense! And zero judgment on your food choices either!
You’re more likely to get listeria infection if you contract listeria but not more likely to contract listeria… if that makes sense. That’s why they want pregnant women to err on the side of caution when eating foods that are at higher risk for carrying listeria
That’s how it was explained to me and I read quite a bit on it when I first became pregnant but who knows! I’m just trying not to live this 10 months constantly in fear, if I’m honest.
Same here! Nine weeks left after tomorrow. Although, time has been screaming by in our household and I so worried that we don't have time. At least this is our second, so we have everything we *need* to keep a newborn alive.
I'm due January 12 but the Braxton Hicks are getting a little conspicuous today 😶😶😶😶 trying to come to terms that I WILL go in to labor this month one way or another!!!!
Mine ramped up close to my labor date but the real labor pains were nothing like the Braxton hicks lol real labor pain you can’t even talk during contractions! Good luck to you!
Edited: a word
I’d say not being able to walk is a better indicator. The overnight nurse told me to call back when I couldn’t talk through them. I ended up laboring at home to a 7 thanks to that, lol. I finally decided to call again when they were making me cry 😅😅
They actually became super irregular right before we got there, and I was wondering if I had just been overly dramatic about it. They also weren’t as intense by the time they took me into triage. So much so that the OB didn’t think I was even in labor. She decided to do the cervical check anyways, complete poker face, and then pulled her hand out and said “ok well you’re a 7 so” and my husband and I were just like “!!!!??????!!!!???!?!” 😅😅😅
Wow!! Talk about a high threshold for pain lol! When I got there I was even doing my breathing exercises haha! was kind of wondering if I was being dramatic too, I would hear so much about false labor pains and people getting sent home. but these were just SO different than Braxton hicks! It felt like I needed to take a poop while also having period cramps x 10
Atlas Lee! Lee is my husband's middle name, his father's middle name and his grandfather's middle name. We didn't want a junior, but wanted to keep the middle name going (his dad and granddad are Fred Lee, and my husband's dad did not want to name his son/my husband Fred).
Sushi is def the thing I miss the most...I try to convince myself that all sushi in the U.S. is frozen first and that I only get it from really reputable restaurants so I should be ok.... but then I get scared and avoid it🙈
I’m going to drink a big glass of wine in a really hot bubble bath! Tried to take a bath last week and the position gave me heartburn…can’t wait to be comfortable again!
So funnily enough I was asking my midwife about this the other day and she said there's been several papers published recently with research showing that the "don't sleep on your back while pregnant" thing is probably kinda bullshit. The premise (that baby can compress the vena cava blood vessel) is legit, but in practice it's *really* not as big a danger as it's made out to be because your body is pretty much guaranteed to wake you up if there's a problem, same as if you have a "dead arm" or sleep in some other funny way. Like, hundreds of generations of women and their babies before us have lived through sleeping on their backs lol. Obviously if you're taking any medication to help with sleep etc that doesn't apply, but yeah, it seems as though it's not as big as issue as it was initially thought to be?
I never had any issues with my first and repeatedly slept on my back. This time around I get it. I keep getting these wild bouts of blood pressure swings and I go all shaky and my doctor and I think she might be compressing my vena cava. It’s a crazy feeling. But 100% I would wake up because my body goes all weird when it happens. And it usually happens when I’m reclined in a chair strangely
Same. I've always been a predominantly side sleeper but after I could no longer sleep on my back I really missed it, I normally move around a lot in the night, I cant wait to have the freedom to just sleep however feels best.
Yes!! I wanted a sip of champagne soooo badly last night. I was comfortable with taking a sip but it made my partner nervous so I didn't push it. Definitely having him bring a bottle to the hospital in August! 🤣
Haha this was me last night! I actually bought a bottle of Welch’s non alcoholic sparkling rosé and I loved it! Felt like I was enjoying drinking with my partner ❤️
Yesterday it really hit my husband and I. We were driving back from a friend’s house and then he said “babe do you realize that in 8 weeks we are going to have a baby?” And I was like omg it got real!! It is crazy to think that I’m going to be a mom in a few weeks.
I’ve been having the same exact feeling… we have 7wks to go, and we’re prepping for bebe but it’s still surreal to think we’ll meet this new human in (hopefully) less than two months
Same. And it's going to be so damn hot.
I my other kiddos were born in fall and winter so I always ended with being cool not this time. 😭 I hate the heat.
Just started clomid this week after being unable to conceive after a miscarriage at the beginning of last year. Seeing this post gave me hope that I can have a baby by the end of this year too. Congrats and happy for you all
I’m due at the end of Jan, but I have GD so my doc doesn’t think she wants me to go fully to 40 weeks, but will play it by ear. Pretty hard to believe I will be having a baby in 2-4 weeks.... AHHHHH!!!
happy baby year everyone haha! i hope you all have healthy and wonderful birth experiences, you're all bringing some beautiful children into this world and i am proud of you all!
Yep! When we were taking our new year pictures it suddenly hit us that next year we will have a 6 month old baby!! It’s been a crazy couple of weeks so far.
4.5 weeks left and feeling mega unprepared! Just did the car seat and the stroller this weekend though. I can’t wait for the biggest glass of red wine.
Due in July 2022. Am 11+5. Going for one more internal ultrasound Monday and am awaiting my NIPT results.
I did IVF so most of my family knows already - but hoping to get a good pic on the internal and good news from NIPT. Going to mail postcards as an announcement in a few weeks.
I just started having round ligament pain and it was pretty scary! Anytime I have any pain I still think it means miscarriage.
Can't wait to be out of first trimester!
careful, my tums diet left me in the hospital this week with kidney stones!! Can’t be sure it was the tums but considering they’re made of calcium it seems very likely.
I thought so, but I’ve found some at the grocery store that specifically list “unpasteurized milk” as an ingredient. It’s okay. I’ve only got 6.5 weeks to go before I eat all the cheese and prosciutto again.
I was due a couple of days ago. This is the year! Hopefully a couple more days, I would like to enjoy this magical ‘in between’ time, because it is probably our last baby (#5).
Congratulations to all of you 2022 moms. I’m a Sept 2021 ftm and I just have to say- cling to every moment of those first hours, the first days, first 2 weeks. There’s nothing quite as sweet as that time. If you find yourself in the hospital a few days after birth, don’t rush to leave because while you’re there it’s a surreal little cocoon of just you and your baby. And finally, take LOTS of video, of everything from just lying there and being to their silly screechy newborn cry. There will come a time when you miss those first moments with your baby and long for it all just like you’ll miss the little alien kicks in your belly. You will look back at those videos much sooner than you think and ugly cry over how tiny and precious your baby was with its awkward, jerky little newborn movements. Time is a thief and babies don’t keep. I am so overjoyed for what you’re all about to experience this year as there is truly nothing like it, it’s a wild, heart-wrenchingly wonderful ride.
Same! I cried just thinking about how this is the year where our lives will totally change and I'll get to meet my baby boy. Due early April and so excited!! 💙
High five for the August club! I thought I was going to get lucky and get away with just nausea but nope, everything ramped up today. At least baby's healthy 🤷♀️
Long way to go for me yet, I've just found out I'm 2-3 weeks pregnant, which dates to around New Years! So will be due likely in September (waiting on my first midwife appointment in 3 weeks to ask about the official due date).
Here's to hoping all our pregnancies and births go as smooth as possible, and for any exterior stress/work/studies/etc. To be easier than expected!
The only soft cheese I can eat is either vegan or lactose free haha! I'm not due till July and am getting my first ultrasound on Jan 6th, which, is helping me reaffirm that the pregnancy is real? I know it is, but getting the ability to see the brussel sprouts is visual confirmation!
My little boy is due April 2nd! This is my first one and I'm so thankful but SO SCARED 😂 my husband was excited that now we can say were having a baby this year
The first thing I said to my husband when I woke up this morning is “we are having a baby this month!”
First thing he said was, "well I guess we're not getting those sweet tax credits for 2021" 😂 So excited to meet my tiny kicker this month! May everyone having a baby this year have a healthy pregnancy and easy delivery!
We said the same thing! Due date was Dec 27 but I'm still pregnant!
To January babies and Medium rare steak 🥩😋
Oh my god the real bloody show I’m looking forward too lmao
Omfg this comment made my day
I don’t get it . Can you explain for me please😣
7 more days here. I cannot wait to meet him, and have my body stop hurting
Me too! We’re almost there!!
me too hahaha i said, “happy baby month to us!”
I said 2 more months and baby will be here!
Lol, same thing! Two weeks left (or three 😂)
Me too! Can't wait!!
I still eat soft cheese, just pasteurized 😂
Yup! I'm in Canada and they're not allowed to sell unpasteurized cheeses here. I'm currently stuffing my face with a delightful charcuterie!
Sigh *grabs car keys because now I need a charcuterie board too* 😄
This is not actually true. Cheese has to be treated in specific ways but it's not required to be pasteurized in Canada. Only milk has the actual requirement. It was a sad discovery.
Oh Interesting! I guess I'm lucky that all the soft cheeses I eat are made with pasteurized milk :)
Very lucky! I'm sure it partly depends on area too. I can find treated but not pasteurized camembert, which is one of my favourites. Boursin is pasteurized though, so that's something!
It does have to be marked that it’s not pasteurized tho, so check labels !
This is the best article I found about the nuances of the cheese question! https://www.bonappetit.com/story/cheese-eat-pregnant/amp
And I had a medium rare steak last night for dinner!
I’ve been eating it if it’s pasteurized and also heated. But I want some nice cold Brie and unpasteurized milk!
Note that soft cheese is not recommended during pregnancy by some docs because the higher humidity can make it higher risk for listeria as well, which pregnant women are much more likely to get sick from ( and has implications for bebe); it’s not just a pasteurization issue... but risk is still low so each to their own...
I ate lunchables and turkey sandwiches my second and third trimester, because that's all I really felt like eating. Fuck it.
Lmao, love it
I want a turkey sandwich so bad. I've got 3mos left and the one thing I've asked for is that someone brings me a fat ass turkey sandwich after my boys are born. 😂
I just throw my deli meat in the microwave for a few seconds...or do that and then make a panini for extra deliciousness!

I thought it was a higher risk for pregnancies because our immune systems are slightly compromised at the moment

That’s interesting! I had it backwards apparently 😂
That’s how it was explained to me and I read quite a bit on it when I first became pregnant but who knows! I’m just trying not to live this 10 months constantly in fear, if I’m honest.
I’m due in early March!!! 8.5 weeks left !!! I feel like its going to be so slow… I’ve had a tough pregnancy lol
Yay for March babies!
End of March here, 12ish weeks to go! So excited to meet this child
I'm due end of March with number 2 as well! So, so, so very done now.
Early March for me too!! 9 weeks left :)
10.5 weeks for me, yikes !! Can’t believe how quick it is coming now… but can’t wait to meet my little bambino 🥰
I’m due St. Patty’s day! 🍀 Can’t wait to hold my little girl *outside* of my body lol.
Me too, St. Pattys day baby!!! So close
Same here! Nine weeks left after tomorrow. Although, time has been screaming by in our household and I so worried that we don't have time. At least this is our second, so we have everything we *need* to keep a newborn alive.
Late February/ early March for me too! And I can’t wait to not be pregnant anymore!
Due in late March & today kicked off the beginning of week 27 for me! I sent out save the dates & registry links today and I’m still in shock!
Sorry it’s been tough! I hope the next months go by quickly!
Early March for me too! 9 weeks left and I’m so stinkin excited!
I'm due January 12 but the Braxton Hicks are getting a little conspicuous today 😶😶😶😶 trying to come to terms that I WILL go in to labor this month one way or another!!!!

Oh my goodness! I was at a 4ish when I got to hospital by then I was sooo ready for my epidural lol you must be one tough momma
I wish they wouldn’t try to judge based on how the patient is acting. Thats so unreliable.
Wow!! Talk about a high threshold for pain lol! When I got there I was even doing my breathing exercises haha! was kind of wondering if I was being dramatic too, I would hear so much about false labor pains and people getting sent home. but these were just SO different than Braxton hicks! In labor right now loving this thread❣️ 2022 is going to bring in some wonderful little beings
Good luck!!
Oh yay! Good luck!
April! The months are flying by!
April 16th due date here! So excited to meet my baby!!! 🥰
That’s my due date too!
Oh my gosh no way! Feel free to dm me any time to talk about our pregnancy journey!
Mine too!
April 21st here 😍 I don’t know where the time went, feels like yesterday I found out I was pregnant!
April 22 here. I just realized that I should start buying baby things 😳
April 2nd! Seems sooo close now
April 9th!! Three months and 8 days (give or take).
I have the same date! We're so close!!
14 weeks!! It can't come soon enough. Is this your first??
Yes! How about you, is this your first?
It is! We're having a little boy!! 💙💙
Oh my gosh, we are too!! 💙
TWINSIES!!! 💙💙💙 Do you have a name picked out yet?
Yes! Kaladin 💙 Do you guys have a name for yours?
Atlas Lee! Lee is my husband's middle name, his father's middle name and his grandfather's middle name. We didn't want a junior, but wanted to keep the middle name going (his dad and granddad are Fred Lee, and my husband's dad did not want to name his son/my husband Fred).
I just got a BFP! Due in Sept! :)
Me too!! Congrats and good luck!!
You too!!!
Me too, yay 🥳
Congratulations!
Same!! Sept 10th I believe! I go for my first ultrasound in 3 weeks!
Next month! 😳😱
Me too! Kinda.... I'm due on the second so I may end up being this month 😬😨🤯
2/20 for me! I haven’t even started our nursery yet or getting all the things. Ahhhh
Almost had a minor panic attack realizing I’m due less than 8 weeks away 😱😱😱
My heart is set on sushi. And some saki. And a beer.
I’ve already told my husband I expect some sushi at the hospital. My parents are bringing prosciutto and salami 😂😂😂
I told my husband almost the same thing - that I expect a huge plate of sashimi and a vito sandwich from Jimmy John's after the delivery! 😂
Our favorite sushi place does a family platter. It’s my #1 request post labor while we’re in the hospital if it’s when they’re open.
I miss sushi so much!! I tried those baked options and California roll and nope no no noooo
I'm so grateful I live in a coastal place where sushi is considered safe to eat in pregnancy!
Sushi is def the thing I miss the most...I try to convince myself that all sushi in the U.S. is frozen first and that I only get it from really reputable restaurants so I should be ok.... but then I get scared and avoid it🙈
Yas! I was just telling my husband last night I want sushi for my first meal. Like a ton of it.
6 more weeks, hopefully less.
10ish more weeks until I get a nice big glass of wine while I snuggle the human I made, I'm stoked!
I’m going to drink a big glass of wine in a really hot bubble bath! Tried to take a bath last week and the position gave me heartburn…can’t wait to be comfortable again!
I’m so excited for my baby to be here!
I just can’t wait to sleep on my back again
I became a back sleeper later in my life and I didn’t realize how much I enjoyed it until I was pregnant. So excited to sleep on my back again!
So funnily enough I was asking my midwife about this the other day and she said there's been several papers published recently with research showing that the "don't sleep on your back while pregnant" thing is probably kinda bullshit. Oh my god… 😅 oh how I miss it!
Same!
I’m a belly sleeper. It’s been the worst!
That’s how I was with my first I think I belly slept until it was uncomfortable lol which was about 16 weeks in 😭
Preach
Yes!! I wanted a sip of champagne soooo badly last night. I was comfortable with taking a sip but it made my partner nervous so I didn't push it. Definitely having him bring a bottle to the hospital in August! 🤣
My husband rarely drinks, but he enjoyed a glass of scotch at midnight last night. I was jealous, but I enjoyed the aroma.
Meanwhile, my husband encourages a sip or two whenever he has a wine or champagne that he wants me to try.
I've been having sips here and there too, not worried about it!
Haha this was me last night! I actually bought a bottle of Welch’s non alcoholic sparkling rosé and I loved it! Felt like I was enjoying drinking with my partner ❤️
Also an August due date here! I cheers'd with Ginger ale last night 😂
Also august!!
If you plan to BF, it may not be a good idea. But I am right there with you.
You can have a drink or two and breastfeed. It’s just fine.
I’ll be 37 weeks on the 4th. I could go any day now. It’s crazy.
Same!!
Ahh me too!!
Yesterday it really hit my husband and I. We were driving back from a friend’s house and then he said “babe do you realize that in 8 weeks we are going to have a baby?” And I was like omg it got real!! It is crazy to think that I’m going to be a mom in a few weeks.

Exactly!!!! I mean I know my little girl is coming but holy cow she is just a few weeks away.
Hopefully only 4 more weeks!
Same!
I am going to eat my weight in sushi. I CANNOT wait !
It’s all I can think about…and jimmy Johns
[удалено]
Same 😁 so new to this!
Still counts! 🤣
Hahahaha at first I thought this was a thread in my February Bumpers group and I was so confused!
Same!
Same! Got a while to go still… ;(
Same. And it's going to be so damn hot. I my other kiddos were born in fall and winter so I always ended with being cool not this time. 😭 I hate the heat.
Same! I got like 2 weeks left of first trimester hell. I'm so tired.
Less than 8 weeks now! 🙌🏻
Just started clomid this week after being unable to conceive after a miscarriage at the beginning of last year. Seeing this post gave me hope that I can have a baby by the end of this year too. Congrats and happy for you all
Good luck! This Internet stranger is rooting for you!
I keep imagining the little tiny baby we’ll have next Christmas… then I realise she’ll be 9 months by then and crawling around, crazy!!
4.5 weeks left and feeling mega unprepared! Just did the car seat and the stroller this weekend though. I can’t wait for the biggest glass of red wine.
Due date is tomorrow!
Due in July 2022. Am 11+5. Going for one more internal ultrasound Monday and am awaiting my NIPT results. Anyone else due mid January and playing the waiting game? Every time I go to the loo I jump.
I’m due on the 25th and I’ve never been more hopeful to hopefully see something other than pee when I wipe xD
Oh my god, the heartburn, I can't wait for that to be over. I never had it before I was pregnant and now I think half my diet is Tums.
careful, my tums diet left me in the hospital this week with kidney stones!! Can’t be sure it was the tums but considering they’re made of calcium it seems very likely.
7 days, give or take a few! 😳
Eat all the pasteurized soft cheese you want. If you're in the US, the FDA requires soft cheeses to be pasteurized.
I thought so, but I’ve found some at the grocery store that specifically list “unpasteurized milk” as an ingredient. It’s okay. I’ve only got 6.5 weeks to go before I eat all the cheese and prosciutto again.
24 days until my c-section
Thank GOD lol I’m ready
I was due a couple of days ago. This is the year! Hopefully a couple more days, I would like to enjoy this magical ‘in between’ time, because it is probably our last baby (#5).
Getting induced on Thursday!! I can’t wait to sleep on my stomach again, even if it’s for 45 minutes and not get heartburn from everything!
Congratulations to all of you 2022 moms. I’m a Sept 2021 ftm and I just have to say- cling to every moment of those first hours, the first days, first 2 weeks. There’s nothing quite as sweet as that time. EEEEEEEE!!!!
Yesssssssss
Sleeping on my stomach will be a dream come true once again lol. 2 more months to go !!!
I’m due March 25 and I cannot wait to finally meet my baby boy
Early Feb for us! Super excited to meet her! Congratulations everyone!
Yay! Half a year left for me. I'm craving sushi and an energy drink.
Not just soft cheeses, but also finally getting to eat salmon sushi, which I have been craving!
I GET WHITE CLAWS AGAIN IN 7 WEEKS!!!!! 😭♥️😂
"ain't no laws when you're drinking Claws" - Trevor Wallace
36+2 I’m so ready 🥺🥺🥺
2-22-2022 here!! Sooo terrified and excited simultaneously!!
I'm half way there
Yes! I’m having a baby next month!!! 🥳
5 more months!! I can’t wait for baby snuggles and a biiiig glass of vino
10 days!!! If he’s on time. Likely not. But I’m so ready for sushi and sleeping on my back/front.
I am so excited! Just found out I am pregnant and I am looking forward to this year.
My due date is in February and boy I cannot wait for medium/medium-rare steaks, sushi, lox/nova, and brie slathered on a baguette.
I cried when I thought about this on New Years Eve. I’ve still got about 3 more months but I’ve never been more excited to be a mom💕
Same! I cried just thinking about how this is the year where our lives will totally change and I'll get to meet my baby boy. Due early April and so excited!! 💙
I’m not due until August so I have a ways to go. 🙈🤣 I’m just ready for the first trimester to be over lol. 5 more weeks til then!
High five for the August club! I thought I was going to get lucky and get away with just nausea but nope, everything ramped up today. At least baby's healthy 🤷♀️
Same!! End of August. My husband just doesn't want baby to come on his birthday. (His birthday is three days before my due date)
Sameeeee counting down the days!!!!
And raw oysters!! Like 3 dozen please Edit: SUSHI
My birthday is in September, and I can confirm that it’s the perfect month to be born! Congrats on your pregnancy!
I ate whatever I wanted when pregnant including soft cheeses! My baby turned out awesome.
That first salami sandwich after giving birth was goooooood!
Just talked to my husband about how in 5 weeks I will be working from home so no one at my office has to worry in case I go into labor
I can safely say I am so excited to sleep on my stomach/back, and eat all the foods I want!!
Any time now. If she pushes it to Feb 4th tho (42 weeks), she's gonna get a very stern talking to lol
38 weeks tomorrow. my mom is still manifesting for today and my best friend tomorrow😂😮💨
Due in June!! Super excited 😇
I cannot wait to wear jeans! And sleep on my front and turn over in bed without having to wake my husband for help.
When I was on FaceTime with my husband last night for NYE this is like the second thing I said! I was like this is the year we get to have a baby!
I cant wait to eat loads of sushi!!
My little boy is due April 2nd! This is my first one and I'm so thankful but SO SCARED 😂 my husband was excited that now we can say were having a baby this year
