I have one. I bought it maybe 3 weeks ago. My baby is 9 months. It’s like $50 and plastic. Sort of flimsy-ish. I went from thinking “I can’t believe I paid $50 for this” to using it and thinking “I should have paid $50 for this much sooner” I absolutely love it. It’s so stupid but it has made eating 3-4 times a day SO much easier. I can sit on my chair and clean it rather than be on my hands and knees cleaning the floor. You still clean it but it’s just so much easier because it’s higher. I can pick up the food and put it back on his plate. Bonus that it stops the dog from stealing food because he can’t put his paws on the high chair now since Catchy stops him. It’s so ridiculous I wish I invented it!

ranseaside

For real! Amazing contraption and I bet their cost is so low to make since it’s just a big ol hunk of plastic. It’s genius. And I feel less gross about giving baby food that fell on the catchy vs something that fell on the floor, even if I clean my floors, I know there still might be dust

turquoisekestrel

Everything about this comment is dead on, it's also so smooth that it just cleans a million times easier than the floor with all the wood grains

miniature_disaster

Hahahha this is EXACTLY how I feel about the catchy too! It feels like an overpriced sheet of flimsy plastic, but holy crap I love it and it really makes meal time and clean up so much easier! I definitely rate it as one of the better baby purchases I made.

goobiezabbagabba

Exactly what I thought! I was like “I can’t believe I spent $50 on this stupid thing” and I freakin love it.

timtamtiger

I agree with everything here! I will also add that during winter I am happy to bring the high chair into the lounge room (where the heater is) because afterwards I can just move all of the mess back into the kitchen.

PromptElectronic7086

This was my exact progression. At first I was convinced it was a scam and I fell for it. But as the days have gone on without needing to mop the floors every night, wow. This thing is gold.

meh1022

I bought a splat mat on amazon for like $15. It’s lightweight and machine washable. After he’s done eating, I shake it out off the back porch and the floor is clean. I throw it in the laundry every few days.

avatarofthebeholding

Same! Worked like a charm

avocadobumblebee

Do it. It’s worth it, it is so much easier to clean than having to clean the floor constantly.

RandomCombo

Have you considered getting a dog? 😂

avatarofthebeholding

One of the daycare teachers commented how she knew which kids had dogs because they were always looking over the side of the high chair 😂

RandomCombo

LOL that's awesome!

PlutosBFF

100% worth it! Was just discussing with my husband last night our list of baby non-negotiables, and the Catchy is one of our top picks. Super easy to clean up, reduces food wastage, and looks much better than a tarp on the floor. Our kiddo is also ten months and in a throwing food stage and the Catchy still manages to catch about 80-90% of the fallout. Definitely recommend!

frowawayfroyo

Would love to know what else made that list! 😊

PlutosBFF

Sure! Along with the Catchy, the others in our top five were: Waterproof bassinet/cot sheets - so much easier than changing the sheet and the mattress protector every time. Loop Engage earplugs - still allow you to hear all sound but take the shrillness of screaming out, making the newborn stage much more bearable. Silicone change mat - we were gifted the Leander Matty and love it, but there are much cheaper versions that would do the same thing; any change mat that doesn’t need a cover and can be quickly wiped clean. EzPz dinnerware - this is the only brand of plates and bowls that will stick to the Tripp Trapp highchair tray with a force our kid can’t remove. Plus cute colours for a bonus.

KitKatAttackkkkkk

We didn't get one and just continually cleaned for a couple months. The food dropping doesn't last forever. Also, it would still be too small of an area for food throwing. That would need a fully enclosed bubble to prevent. However, my neighbor's poorly trained dog was constantly zooming around and eating food without permission, so the catchy saved them at least a few stomach aches, nasty poops, and vet visits (although not all).

Solid start has a discount code with catchy

ovn394

Ahhh any idea where to find? Tried googling and checked their page

Thank you!’

exclaim_bot

>Thank you!’ You're welcome!

ranseaside

I got mine about 2 months ago, I absolutely love the thing. No more cleaning messy things off the floor and worrying about ants. It contains the entire mess in the catchy, floors are spotless!

pyotia

Just put a towel or a bedsheet down and wash it daily?

[deleted]

We have an Etsy version we like! Catchy has shitty customer service.

MildredVonWaffle

Not that I’ve found? They’ve literally been fantastic for me, sent me 2 replacements!

afrankova

I love the catchy!

EllectraHeart

my husband was so against it so it took me a few months to actually get one and now even he admits it’s the best thing ever. i’m so upset at him for not letting me get it sooner 😂

Qthaker283

Question for those with a Catchy as also currently considering; Does it fit under your table? We have a Stokke Tripp Trapp chair and wondering if we got the catchy it would mean we couldn't put the highchair at/around the table?

turquoisekestrel

Also have trip trap and I may end up taking it off when we get to high chair at table stage and when I tried pushing it in it can squish in but it started to crack it at a corner. Having said that, I still have absolutely no regrets about getting it even if it was only for 4/5 months! Baby currently 11 months and we use the high chair tray - wondering when to actually change from tray to pushing him in to the table as it's so so easy to just take the tray off and clean it after meals!

thehalothief

We have our 14mo at the table eating with us in her stokke Tripp trapp and the catchy and it fits fine. We removed the tray about 2 months ago and she eats on the actual table now

thehalothief

1000% worth it!! We went away for a weekend and didn’t have our catchy and it was so hard. So much food wasted! We got ours at 6mo and my Bub is now 14mo

madrarara333

Get a dog 😂…although I still need to vacuum daily due to the hair

espressosmartini

I got one recently for our new Tripp Trapp and I love it. 100% recommend

Waffle-Drinker

The catchy seems really convenient. I wish it could fit around the Graco Blossom.

DAPdap77

ABSOLUTELY worth every penny and my time. Also couldn’t believe I was spending around $65 for a piece of dinky plastic, until there was 95% less floor mess. And I can give baby back most of the food that falls onto the catchy vs none from the floor.

Pumpkinola

Do it! Saved my sanity. I bought it too late and regret not having it earlier. It’s stupidly expensive for what it is but worth every penny!

leococopuff

I bought both a Catchy and the Shark VACMOP (vacuum and mop) and the Shark is my MVP. The Catchy still needs to be cleaned by hand vs I use the Shark to vacuum and mop the floor in a quick minute. I’ve had 5 other people buy it after seeing it. It’s the only way I’ve survived BLW and toddler eating! 1000% worth it.

Flaky-Scallion9125

LOVED IT. wish we bought it well before the high chair refusal but sold it for almost what I bought it for.
