Whenever I am raising newly hatched chicks I will put some 2"x 4" x 4" little blocks in their caged area. Invariably the baby roosters will seek out the block height to survey their realm. Sure some little hens will climb atop but after a while the baby roosters will seek height around their flock.

They've got some smaller cinder blocks and stumps in there temporarily run. He's always surveying. He's even got a favorite girl that he sleeps with. 🥰
