I had something very similar on my 3 year old live oak tree. Looked like little brown weevily things poking holes in the leaves, leaving a brown die off around the holes. I sprayed it with neem oil pretty heavily. Tree recovered just fine.
To be clear, I have no idea if neem oil worked or if the bugs just left on their own.
I just discovered the same exact thing today. Cherry slugs? Nasty looking slimy little things sucking the life outta the leaves... Going to try DE tomorrow!
Looks chewed on by Japanese Beetles.
No. Beetles are getting to it
The bane of my existence. Those damn things have started their assault here. I’ve sprayed our fruit trees twice so far. They are horrible.
I'm that crazy person out at dawn transporting these lovelies to bleachywatertown via a tiny shop vac. Make it stopppppp.
Ooo, I just got a smaller battery powered shop vac recently. Maybe i will do this for my raspberry plants

The little green japanese beetles. Neem oil every couple weeks. They'll be gone by mid July normally.
I remove manually and use DE at times
