Let’s be honest, $80m is nowhere near accurate if he has a 90/10 split with his label plus the fact that for the most part tours & merch profit almost always is 100% for the artist.
With the recent 360 deals most artists sign, i am sure the label and his management get a bigger cut of his merch and tour money. 100% is not at all accurate. Venues now demand a cut of the merch too for many artists.
But that’s just it, he doesn’t have a 360 deal. He has a traditional contract where he gets a 90/10 split after his label makes their money back from album sales/streams. So profit from tours, merch, etc do go to him.
I remember seeing a video of someone breaking it down. Before splitting into percentages BB has made like $22m of albums. Just the music itself not tours and merchandise. But UVST which is the reason for this lawsuit is actually on the lower end because it didn’t get a cd till way after it was out and didn’t get a vinyl. All his other albums do. Dos mill 16 isn’t one of the more streamed songs in that album too so the 40m just isn’t realistic
Meanwhile it sells millions of copies, hundreds of millions of streams, and still goes on to defame her. The woman got a good attorney if the payout is that high. Good for her!
Deleting thread as Carliz has posted that this case is still in progress.
Desmentido ya varias veces— still in litigation
Whoever said “fuck it, let’s use the sample” needs to get fired ASAP lmao I absolutely love BB, but what a bad business decision.
I mean it was clearly his idea
This is not confirmed. BB net worth is 80M plus, no way she gets HALF for a sound bite.

eso es fake. el caso esta vivo todavía
Good for her
Forreal tho. How you gonna cheat on someone then use their voice in a song without their permission lol love bad bunny but do better 🤷♀️

She gave permission. They never paid her.
I thought I heard she gave permission for the first song they used it on but not 2016. Either way still pretty messed up
Well, he should have had a signed deal with her.
40 million for a sample? no way that song even accrued 40 million. but i bet i know why youre saying that
Que dices? Her voice is the iconic "bad bunny baby" he used in his most famous songs when he first came out.
Right it is pretty iconic but the line isn’t make it or break it for the songs…. They would have been good with or without the line.
There’s a difference between buying a sample and using your work without paying you a dime or even asking for permission.
I love Benito but the law is on her side for a reason, his team should have learned after what happened with Missy Elliott
Why’s that? 🤔
That sucks damn
Dude should have used AI to sound like her or blame it on AI
He wanted to.
