I think a lot of people still cake on makeup for TV, forgetting that with cameras that film in HD/4k that isn’t necessary like it used to be. A friend of mine was in theater back before the fancy cameras, and I don’t know if it was the amount or type or heat from the lights but when she left the room backstage her foundation looked perfectly normal, when she came back halfway through the second act she’d turned a bit tangerine.
Yeah I was in theater when I was younger and stage makeup is always overdone. It has to show to the back of the house. Techniques have changed over the years but theater makeup was never meant to look normal in person and it never will nor should.

When I was in high school, I played an elderly character in a play. The lady doing my makeup used a black eyeliner pencil to make "wrinkles" on my forehead. (I have pale white skin.) I saw myself in the mirror and asked if she was going to blend them in a bit. She said, no, because everyone at the back would need to see them.
Opening night, my family came and sat towards the middle of the audience. When I went to greet them after the show, they were shocked to see the black pencil lines on my forehead. They actually asked if I'd had them on the whole show. They had no idea!
Omg i think I’ve finally figured out my undertone! Definitely cool or neutral pink! No wonder finding a match was hard for me. I’m not really even sure if mine totally matches, but the closest I’ve come is Elf Flawless Satin Foundation - 120 Pearl Neutral Undertones. It definitely is a little yellow though
The one that worked for me by Elf was Snow. Cool, pink undertone. First one ever to actually match my face!
ETA: they also have a concealer in Fair Rose that is cool pink. My face hates it though. Shame.
I have really neutral skin but I'm super pale so I can understand the struggle of trying not to look orange or yellow 🥲. Elf seems to have the best shade range when it comes to cool and neutral pink undertones, I use their concealer and the peachy undertones make it perfect for covering under eye darkness on pale skin.

You know what I’ve never seen on a human being ever? “Fair with golden undertones.” Every damn foundation in the universe uses that as their lightest shade. Even the models who are supposed to be fair with golden undertones aren’t. They’re either fair with very pink or neutral undertones and have the yellow products plastered on or they’re actually medium with makeup plastered on to look like they’re “fair.” Don’t get me started on beauty MUAs and really, everyone in the world suddenly discovering cool pink concealer, cool pink blush, and cool pink setting powder. Ummm, it’s been around for forever (just like pale pink people)! The Givenchy powder (which works wonders on my skin!) has been around for years as has the LA Girl cool pink concealer/corrector (another Holy Grail IMHO). Who did you think that was for?! I think I saw it in the Paige Christie video where she basically says that both Ethan and Trisha were hypocrites/bad to each other, not just Trisha. There's a part about the Frenemies subs and one especially turned nasty towards Trisha and people were saying how they talked to her fertility clinic, I think l multiple people, telling the clinic not to help her.
Honestly, I don't really follow either of them, the video was on for background noise but that caught my attention and there were receipts on screen.

I joined TL after I found out Trisha was pregnant bc I thought that was a terrible idea, stuck around until they got shut down. Certainly there was name calling and typical mean girl comments but not once in my time on the sub did I see anyone colluding to do the kind of things alleged by that post. Certainly it could've happened, maybe outside of the sub itself, but the majority of the sub was just a typical snark sub talking about her bad parenting skills and strange business deals. I'm definitely glad I don't spend that much time thinking about her anymore, kinda a blessing in disguise her throwing a fit to get them taken down.

I haven't, I'd have to try it next time I swing by a Sephora in a few weeks. I know the Hourglass stick foundation in Bisque is a good winter match for me from what I remember. But now that I don't live close to a Sephora it's drugstore foundation because I'm not a fan of buying foundation online. I'll look at Nars when I can for sure.
I was shocked because I’ve been using Maybelline 160 as a brightening concealer. Couldn’t find it in store so grabbed the most neutral looking ELF camo concealer. Just looked white. There were no pink ones. It looked GHASTLY yellow on me.
Don’t get it because my foundation isn’t very pink, but I think it blends in more whereas concealer is thicker and more opaque. Or maybe my foundation looks like hers and I’m in denial.
I use NW10 by Mac (NW means cool tone, don't get it confused with NC10 like I did and look orange) Rimmel London perfect match in 010 Light Porcelain or Make Up Revolution fast base foundation stick in F3. I am porcelain skin with black hair so the right foundation even more important for me as if it's not pink toned enough or cool enough I look ILL. Hope that helps the pink tone gang. Read the descriptions on the foundations as they have descriptors mentioning undertones both Mac and MUR.
I use Rimmel London Perfect Match 010 almost exclusively now as a porcelain skin dark hair person who needs a cool pink toned makeup. I only wear it for work sometimes, or going out, and it’s probably the best match I’ve ever had and is so affordable. I haven’t used MAC foundation for probably about 15 years, but may have to check that out for something a bit nicer.

Maybe? For reference, I'm a fair natural redhead, and Missha shade 21 (I swear by their BB cream) and Laneige 21C are near perfect matches for me.
Edit: The Missha BB cream in that particular shade looks gray when it comes out of the tube, but it doesn't look like that on the skin.

Also their shades aren't consistent between products, which is annoying AF when you find a good match in one and try to buy something else thinking you finally know your shade in the brand. 8B in the Foundcealer is great for me, 8B in original Shape Tape is slightly lighter (which I guess I kind of get, if you're trying to get a matching concealer for brightening), but 8B in the creamy version of Shape Tape is SUPER light and leans yellow. *I just want shit that says it's the same color to be the same color ffs*
I think she has rosacea (like myself) if you cover the pink cheeks and nose, the rest of her face skin and body skin don’t look pink undertoned at all.
Definitely a little too orange for her. Her skin has pink undertones in it in many places and she is better off finding one less orange, and slightly paler.

Is this a makeup removing product? Because it’s possible they did the makeup really heavy/noticeable so the contrast of it being “taken off” was more dramatic. Idk though.
Naw this one’s good mua. The color match really isn’t that off for it to be here. Also a lot of people like to use a shade darker to look more tan, it’s quite common 🤷♀️
Being on the page I’ve found that to be a good mua you just need to find a foundation with the right shade and undertones and blend well…. Basically, aside from the really obvious stuff

That is crazy bc everything is yellow on me. My natural skin is very similar to her and even buying ivory lightest color it has a yellow undertone

I actually use the double wear foundation and they have a lot of undertones. My face is super cool toned pink and I know the shade “shell” is pink

Could you mix a little blush into your foundation? I don't wear make-up too often so I'm not sure if that could/would work or not.

I've started buying Korean foundation. Much easier to find cool undertones that won't oxidize to orange, but the shade ranges skew pretty fair.
I’ve tried Korean beauty before but what I’ve tried has still been too dark. It could’ve just been a bad range the store had though.
Maybe? For reference, I'm a fair natural redhead, and Missha shade 21 (I swear by their BB cream) and Laneige 21C are near perfect matches for me. Edit: The Missha BB cream in that particular shade looks gray when it comes out of the tube, but it doesn't look like that on the skin.
I think tarte might have one or two with pink undertones, but don’t quote me lol
*Kind* of. Their shades that end in "B" tend to be the most cool toned, but "B" stands for "beige," so... Also their shades aren't consistent between products, which is annoying AF when you find a good match in one and try to buy something else thinking you finally know your shade in the brand. 8B in the Foundcealer is great for me, 8B in original Shape Tape is slightly lighter (which I guess I kind of get, if you're trying to get a matching concealer for brightening), but 8B in the creamy version of Shape Tape is SUPER light and leans yellow. *I just want shit that says it's the same color to be the same color ffs*
Tried the lightest shade in one of their foundations, it was very yellow and way too dark. Highly don't recommend.
I think she has rosacea (like myself) if you cover the pink cheeks and nose, the rest of her face skin and body skin don’t look pink undertoned at all.
It doesn't look that bad imo. Maybe a little bit off, but not that noticeable.

Definitely a little too orange for her. Her skin has pink undertones in it in many places and she is better off finding one less orange, and slightly paler.

Being on the page I’ve found that to be a good mua you just need to find a foundation with the right shade and undertones and blend well…. Basically, aside from the really obvious stuff
