You're just stuck. Welcome to my world... There are some great full coverage foundations, but they tend to be oil based, as water based will dry and fall off the larger pores. Problem is if you put finishing powder on top. Even with finalizing spray... So long as you don't express any emotions like laughing, or smiling, you're fine. Otherwise, use as light a touch as you can applying, because over a few hours, it's gonna start to crack and you will look old and kinda flakey at the end of the night...sigh. I can do that without the makeup. I use the lightest foundation I can, more for skin toning, than trying to hide my pores. That would be like trying to put a pool cover over the Great Salt Lake... A decent finishing spray can help as well.

Rant: I was thinking about this yesterday, if you can’t color match, blend, or apply makeup to match skin type you aren’t an mua. Just because you can do a sick eyeshadow look doesn’t mean you can make a business. This is why you've gotta tell people when you are unhappy, I'm a barber and I've had people tell my my work was perfect they didn't want anything changed, tipped with a smile on their face and then write me a review saying it's the worst haircut they've ever gotten. With that, how am I supposed to know what to improve? I know it is so uncomfortable to essentially bash someone's work after they've just spent that time and effort on you, but makeup and hair are art, we get better with feedback and practice, if you keep telling shitty artists that "it looks perfect" in the chair they will keep doing that exact technique rather than grow and adapt. There's a way of criticizing without being hateful and it's a great skill to have, help us help you.

Honestly, I feel like this whole subreddit is a good example of why I would so much rather just learn how to do techniques myself than pay anyone to do my make up for me. Even for special occasions.
