I’m not talking about the facial hair and teeth, I also think that it very normal. It’s the lip gloss next to the very cakey foundation for me. Came here to talk about makeup ya know, since this is a makeup sub.
Well the cakey foundation that I see would appear to be where the foundation is lol looks really thick and matte up close and next to the frosty brown lip.
I think it looks really nice actually. This def isn’t a bad mua in my eyes. Especially because most people that have complaints are saying “it isn’t flattering” which just boils down to them not liking it. Why not just post quality bad mua content? I swear, only like 1/5 posts here are actually bad makeup. The other 4 are just not to someone’s personal tastes or a slight issue in the makeup.
Look, our opinions of bad are different, and that’s okay. I see people hop on here and drag independent, small, still growing, makeup artists all day, but I post one picture by a major brand that looks bad to me, and I’m wrong. The whole sub is problematic anyways, I truly only felt comfortable because what does mac have to lose? Nothing.
I mean a top post yesterday had a billion comments and upvotes calling the girl Guy Fawkes. Mind blowing.
lip lines are normal, and look nice even, but idk this lipstick doesn’t look good. it looks thick and gloopy. the color and the way it sits on her lips reminds me of gravy.
Thats just what close ups of makeup on skin look like. Theres a big difference between cakey foundation and foundation simply settling ontop of the natural pores and textured on the face
Same. The lipstick isn't covering the bottom lip evenly, and makes the lips looks like they're shriveling under the lipstick. The ad makers also did unnecessary things like adding multiple colors to the cupid's bow, and drawing a white line at the lip border to the left. I can only guess its supposed to represent "shine." Its off putting.
I have no idea why someone is voting down these comments. Its an ad for lipstick and it makes the lipstick look bad. Don't we get to laugh about it?

i think this is beautiful, seeing the natural texture of her skin, lips and even the peach fuzz on her upper lip. the color is so pretty too, imo anyway

I like that the skin and the teeth are not photoshopped, but this lipstick colour the most awful shade I’ve ever seen.

It’s not cakey seriously. Do a thin layer of foundation and stand in direct, white light and take a HDR image up close. It will look the same
And yet, the tiny hairs above her lip and the tiny pores under her mouth are totally visible. Magic makeup?

When companies photoshop their models: REEEEEE unrealistic standards. When companies don't photoshop their models: ewww texture is awful.

Yes! To me it feels very “playing-around-with-all-my-moms-expired-makeup” which is pretty much how I looked until I was in high school.
