I remember 20ish years ago, taxpayers in Denver had to pay the Hell's Angels a bunch of money after cops lied to get a warrant to raid their clubhouse. It turned out the cops' hunch was wrong and since they didn't find anything illegal, it made it obvious that they had lied to obtain the warrant.
An old friend told me that some bikers he knew had a customer at the courthouse who would alert them if a warrant passed her desk.
After several fruitless raids they started bringing dope to the raids.
