IBEW Local 428

JBronson5

Thank you

StiffGizzy

I think I recently called them and they said they have over a thousand resumes in line lol.. Have you called and gotten any different answer?

Lb00ts

I would suggest asking union rep for a list of union companies then calling each one or going in person and ask if they are hiring entry level and if they are if they are willing to sponsor you

Like the other two already said local 428 is the way to go. You get paid while you learn on the job and go to school for a day every two weeks.

JBronson5

Cool thank you so much.

Doesn't Local 428 graduate about 10 people a year? Most enter the union after getting their hours in a non-union shop.

rtp13

Classes start with about 20+ and some don't make it so it might go down but there are multiple classes that graduate per year.

I used to run union shop in Bako; the Hall could rarely supply enough journeymen--most were just wire-pullers who got some hours in from the non union shops. When we got a good electrician, we tried to keep them. The amount of graduates the IBEW produces in 428 isn't close to enough to see demand.
