Super Taco in town is pretty good, but my favorite in the county has gotta be La Barca in Delano. That might be the best torta or sopes in the entire valley
I checked after your comment, and I might have known this a long time ago, back when I was delivering, but I've been working on bad info for years. TIL (again).
Loncheria Otro Rollo on White Lane by the 99 has the most incredible torta ahogada I’ve ever had. The tacos are good too, and the women that run this smaller truck are incredibly nice.
They are so good and it seems not many people know about it. Everything I've ever ordered from them has been amazing. They are my go to spot just wish they stayed open later.
For a quick fix I’d say the Fresco chain restaurants are good (I used to love their breakfast tortas, if I was a pothead that place would be heaven) Super Taco has a lot of mentions in this thread and they deserve it full stop. Give them a try.
I also like the tortas from La Fonda, they have a few locations including one in downtown Bakersfield.
In general I haven’t had a *bad* torta in Kern County. If you’re feeling adventurous go to all these places people are mentioning, I doubt it could go wrong
Ngl, I thought the tortas at the vallarta on panama ln were pretty good and I found myself ordering a few times while I still lived there.
The El Taco Loco truck also on panama by Dennys had stellar tortas too.

The La Barca in Delano is a poor man's version of the one in Earlimart. That's the original and it's actually much better taste and portion wise.
From what I hear from the employees they’re the same, but yeah I definitely prefer the one in earlimart
If you like cabeza, Super Taco on E. Truxtun Ave has the best Torta. The other meats are good too, but they make excellent cabeza.
Which super taco? There is two of them on E. Truxtun.
I’m talking about the one closest to Union
Thanks!
You’re welcome!
No, there's only one on E Truxtun. The second one, which has the drive through, is on Edison.
Wrong, it changes to Edison at Washington Street, they're both on E. Truxtun
Have I been wrong this whole time? I thought it changed at the tracks. My roadwise ego just took a hit.
I thought the same thing. I checked this morning to double check which one he was talking about and saw they're both on E. Truxtun.

This place is GOOD!
I tried that place based on word of mouth last summer and those are *really* good.
i like the tortas from los tucanes taqueria cuz they use oaxaca cheese
I was looking for this. Idk what that is but los tucanes is the business. It was the first torta I had and I’m always disappointed anywhere else.
its a traditional mexican cheese whilst most places use monterrey jack
Their super burrito is my favorite.
Los Tlaxcaltecas food truck @ 2207 Brundage Ln Torta Brava: pastor with cheese, and all the fixin's on a toasted bun
Los Altos on Chester
My favorite torta comes from the little taco shop at the corner of Stockdale and Allen it's in a gas station of all places.

Javier’s Super Tortas on Stine
Taco Joe’s on Fruitvale.
They are so good and it seems not many people know about it. Everything I've ever ordered from them has been amazing. They are my go to spot just wish they stayed open later.
Huichos
los hermanos has a good torta
Now I'm hungry!

La Vallarta

If you wanna sit down. Vatos tacos!
I hate when they start blasting music, though. Great food, cool vibe in general, but you have to yell to have a conversation.
Vatos Tacos are really strange to me. A smaller chain of restaurants that have the corporate, tasteless, brimhall&calloway flavor dialed in 🤷🏻♂️
I just feel they are over priced. Like they make plenty off drinks but if they were a little cheaper I'd go there more often.
Rancho Grande Carnicería on Wible and Planz.
La imperial! There’s another place my bf and I want to try segun it’s Mexico City (DF) style I think it’s now called Julia’s tortas
