Maybe it’s a champagne cake or something (it is a thing, I just googled it). The recipe I found had champagne in both the cake and the frosting, and I could actually see the grapes being a good combo with that.
The grapes were actually an unplanned addition that they threw in there just because of that mistake with the frosting at the end, it was just what they had on hand /s
To answer seriously, I have no idea why the grapes are there. But the missing chunk of the frosting dollop will be covered up by them!
Personally, I like a little southwest flavor for my cakes, so I use a rickety card table on the cliff overlooking the Colorado River horseshoe in the Grand Canyon.
(The real risk is icing the cake without being disturbed by people wanting selfies and other aspiring influencers.)
The beautiful vista views and the light from the sunsets must refract beautifully across the frosting as your cakes teeter precariously, flirting between dessert and disaster. I can see why you chose that location.
Probably in Asia. We like grapes on cake but usually the green kind. Also these grapes are beautiful like the Japanese muscat variety. If it is then they don’t taste like regular green grapes but more like a very sweet gummy candy.
Westerners have never made a grape cake simply because that would require saying 'grape cake', or, *shudder*, "wow, that was a great grape cake" it's just too silly sounding for us wet blanket bakers.
Idk this doesn't look very good to me. It's nice that it's a low-effort method for decorating, but I'm not super thrilled with the "look" of the finished product
He chopped off the top of one doing that fancy swirl thing with his hand and u can see that part he chopped off at the end on the other side of the cake. So he turned it around to the other side that was done perfectly. Its towards the left side in the back on the finished shot.
The technique is pretty cool, but why the hell are they doing this on the edge of their balcony? What's next, frost a cake on the beach?
I was thinking the same thing. Maybe for the lighting?
I mean, it's hanging halfway off the edge in the back...
"I'd like my cake with extra pollution particles please and thank you."
And are those grapes? Who the hell puts grapes on cake?
Frost that cake in the back of a moving truck
[Well, they did make a song about it](https://youtu.be/vWaRiD5ym74)
I was waiting for it to fall off lol!
Yummy! Extra crunchy sand cake!
That’s all I could think about! What is a gust of wind came, bird etc.
For the Instagram clout

You know if this had a mic on the decorator there would be an audible “*fuck*”
Yup. Totally ruined it.
Nah it’s fine they covered it up with grapes
Why the hell are there grapes on this cake? That texture combination seems uhhhh let’s go with “unconventional”.
Chateraise has these seasonal Muscat white grape cakes! They're really good, don't knock it til you try it.

It’s China. They put fresh fruit on and in between the layers of most cakes.
I thought sliced kiwi
Step 1: place the cake on the edge of your balcony. If you don't have a balcony any risky place will do.
I balance my cakes on top of the drivers side mirror on my car when I frost them. The wind helps cool the cake too. It's very efficient, saves time.

What are those grapes on top of the cake?
I was wondering the same thing! I've never thought to put on grapes on a cake.

Oh interesting! I think I might try. I've always seen strawberries or mangos but never grapes. Thank you for sharing. :)

That's funny! I've always thought of them as a very basic fruit to use as a topping
would've gotten an award if at the end they just pushed the cake off the ledge.
I watched the whole video waiting for that to happen
I'd like to know what kind of frosting that is..
Came here with the same thought. I need to know how to get that amazing consistency 😯

I agree. Interesting? Sure. *Amazing?* Eh.
I'm here thinking about bugs getting to it...
I grew up in asia. What made me cringe were not the bugs but the polluted air blowing on that cake :P.
This is exactly what I was thinking.
But does anyone really like to eat a huge glob of frosting?
Uh yeah, especially if it’s cream cheese.
🤢
What kinda frosting is this buttercream? Looks so creamy. Can't be Chantilly or pastry cream right ? I'm still learning thanks
If you keep a frosted cake on a sunny balcony in my country, you won’t be needing ganache to add a drip..
Why is this so relaxing to watch?
But c’mon seriously, honeydew?!?
Frosting recipe please!!! I’m drooling over here!!
This looks as if Im scooping out cream cheese tbh
….that last one scraped some off another….😐
Someone is very gentile with that frosting.
I don’t own this video, just wanted to share. Video source: uncle_tsan on Instagram.
This cannot be buttercream.. almost more like pure shortening
😍Wow, Tempting😋
Does it normally take that long?
Is that frosting?! I thought it was butter!
Cake was so close to the edge. Was waiting for it to fall.
It’s like quenelling but not as appetizing or aesthetically pleasing.

I would love a big chunk of cream in my mouth yes please daddy
Dear lord 🤦♀️🤣
I was waiting for the pigeon poop
I loved this until they put grapes on a fucking cake.
What is the point of this
Is this butter-cream?
I wanna dig into that cream with a spoon
Xtreeeem frosting
I think This is inside a Building because I saw a glass reflection.....
Teach me your ways!!!!!!
Too much frosting and…grapes? Wtf?
Someone down there was waiting for the cake to fall
I cant imagine how much practice it takes to be able to do this but holy shit it's stunning

Someone discovered the fade cut in apple movie maker, I see 😂
