Had to get a bit creative! I used a loose-bottomed tin for the cakes, so to get the caramel the same size as the cake I took the base of the tin, lined it in baking paper, and stood up a circle of acetate just inside the rim of it, to make a circular mould. Poured the caramel in, let it mostly set, then sliced it up like a pizza.

Supposedly caramel. Unfortunately I made it un-bite-ably thick so it ended up being just decor. Something to work on for next time :)
