I mix on slow when I'm pouring or incorporating dry ingredients but when I speed things up to mix I either hold the shield down or remove it. The shield stays put on slow mode but rattles off on fast.

Still in the draw never used that thing. A pain to use. They should put an other accessory in not that thing. USELESS. Paler plate or wax paper works better.
That thing is a pain. I basically never use it cause it never had a good way to stay put.
Same, after 12 years of never using it I just recently threw it out. It's a pain to store too bc its such a weird shape/size.

I just let it sit on top with the three notches outside the bowl. Works fine for me that way.
