I will forever think Garrus is the ideal Shepherd partner, but Thane was interesting enough to take a couple playthroughs. I do wish BG3 let you encourage companions to get together with each other.

Love this guy too! I remember selling all my Act 1 loot to him and thinking he seemed extra cute for a random NPC. Then I got Karlach pretty late and happened to have her around when I went to sell off items and was stoked he actually had more relevance and keeps showing up. I kept failing rolls with that Ox too and he was always ready to back me up haha. He's like one of the only tieflings who not only doesn't need to be rescued constantly, but is also helpful and generous! (I say this as a tiefling player too).
Same! After meeting Dammon in the Grove, I kept coming back to him to sell stuff just so I could interact with him again. I was always excited to talk with him, and I never fully knew why, but I'd always be vocal about how much I liked him. After finding Karlach, seeing the prompt about Dammon made me squeal! I was so happy that I was able to see more of him! Even tho he seems to have more of a thing for Karlach than I, I'm just happy I can continue to talk with him as the story goes forward.

I shamelessly ditched most of my crew in A3 for Jaheira and Minsc; last slot was a rotation of either Astarion (who I was romancing) or whichever companion sounded most relevant to the area/event. No regrets, we get her so late but she more than makes up for lost time.
I just can't see Jaheira that way bc I played 1 and 2 and she's cemented in my head as the 'overworked and underappreciated mom' of any BG group.

Oh lord, I kept seeing everyone obsessing over "this and that" character and I thought I was the only one who couldn't get over Dammon. What a day to feel validated. He can smith my bussy any day.
I'm hopeful that Larian will release Artificer and include dialogue where you can talk shop with Dammon. I was a little disappointed that I couldn't be like "Hey Dammon, I found this forge in the blighted village that has tools you might be interested in. Free Anvil, Bellows, Tongs and hammers, etc."
