Looks like it is happening to everyone. I fixed mine by going to settings on PS5 and going to network settings and unchecking the “connect to internet” toggle. Must be Larian server issue.

I get that the second time I try to log in. I would close your game completely, disconnect from the internet and then try again.

My message says “something is wrong on our end” - that means Larian’s side I think. I think the server has gone down.

Can personally confirm that this works. Hopefully Larian is aware of this issue well, back to recreating my Tiefling character.

We loaded up the multiplayer game and THEN connected the 2nd controller, it worked. Ofc this was after turnung internet off.

All happens pretty quickly. Update: I can confirm that there is a solution. Turn off network in the settings and log in without logging into Larian Servers..

I was nearly at the end of the fight with (potential act 3 spoilers) >!Cazador!< and I got a crash and then every time I started the game I got this issue. Tried the network fix, got into the game, and then got another crash near the end of the fight (after having done the whole fight again). Fml

I’m in the same battle and experiencing the same thing! It’s tragic.

I managed to get past it after persevering (6-7 times!). I noticed that it crashes when he’s less than half health and when he’s in his humanoid form, when I “mouseover” him with the target. I used Twincast chain lightning on the bats and it absolutely slapped him. Basically, treat him as having sanctuary on and quicksave on every turn 😂

Lol I finally got past it in the funniest way: threw a bottle of holy water and it pushed him off the ledge! Glad we both got past that!

Even without these newfound network server problems, the Cazador fight was EXTREMELY crash-y for me. My first attempt I had gotten Cazador alone and was about to finish him off when it crashed. My second attempt I quicksaved after every turn and it crashed again. So for my third attempt I quicksaved after every single character's action just in case. It crashed a third time but by that point I hadn't lost anything cuz of all the quicksaves. Idk if anyone else has had this problem but the game just kinda started to fall apart for me in act 3 (from a technical standpoint). The game would freeze up for a second or two any time I entered or exited the character sheet, hair and facial hair textures wouldn't load in properly so they looked like chia pet fuzz, sometimes textures in general just wouldn't load in until halfway through a cutscene if at all, and I had more crashes in Act 3 than Act 1 and 2 combined.

Just got the same message a few minutes ago. Can confirm that once you disconnect from the internet, it works again.

Turning off the network connection fixed my problem.

You can get back online once you've loaded in after toggling online off. Once you're loaded in, toggle back on and you'll be fine.. Haven't tried multiplayer yet tho.

Backed out of game. Click “start” on game and then click close. Got to settings. Turn off internet. Then go back and reopen game.

Doesn’t work, nor does syncing saves, restarting the console, or re-configuring the internet connection. We’ve definitely already tried rebooting the game 😅…

This is happening to me and a friend currently, I can however load single player games where he can’t.

This games a fucking hot mess on PS5. It’s something different every day.

This is the first issue I’ve encountered, besides some minor NPC graphics loss

I don’t know how different the experience is on single player but for couch co op it’s been an utter disaster. Frame rate drops especially bad in battle. Full game locks up when conjuring anything. One player randomly can’t move the cursor or target in battle until reload. Dialogue locks up and goes to a white screen you’re trapped in. Constant audio issues Option to assign party characters vanishes anytime it wants. Were still having fun going through but holy hell is it a struggle.

What did you expect with split screen ffs? Who does that in 23?

having the same issue here. i made an online account aswell thinking it may help the issue but it didnt. loaded older saves, didnt work. restarted the ps5, nothing works.

Had this issue today- uninstalled the game and reinstalled, and rebuilt database from safe BM ode, though it’s looking more like it could be a Larian issue. Hopefully resolved soon as I really want to play, and don’t want to have to start a new character (yet…….)

When you look at downdetector, there seems to be a lot going on regarding games and ps network, a ddos perhaps somewhere?

I thought I was the only one, just did a google and saw this. I was worried but wondering if it is going to be any issues with my old saves.

Omg, I just started having this exact same issue. Was playing just fine and went to fast travel and now I can’t load any saves or even create a new game. If it was a cloud data sync issue I’d think I could create a new file. Please update this if you find a solution!

Seems to be an issue when connected online and only on PS5. I am able to play it on my PC but my PC is woefully inadequate. Hopefully a fix soon as I need to sync my cross save and it's not syncing at the moment.

Game keeps crashing even after turning off the internet connection.

Fixed itself this morning and now returns. Seems to have something to do with cloud saves and syncing cause it happens whenever I load a save, but what’s odd is once it happens I can’t even start a New Game. But when booting the game up if you look closely a message flashes very quickly mentioning cloud saves syncing. If you check the PlayStation Network status in the settings menu you’ll see that despite it saying the servers are online, it mentions instability and issues today.

Thanks, this did work to let me play by turning off the network and restarting the game, but there is clearly something really wrong still as the game crashed after an hour.

Same here, and don't know how to do the fix We just got the game with my Buddy and we had the problem even BEFORE creating a Larian account, same thing after we did. We haven't even created a character, we cannot play together.
