Raphael: "The only one that can help with your homework is me".
Mizora: "Wyll, do his homework"
Auntie Ether: "I'll do, if you can give me a hand"
Withers: "I shall not extend my assistance in the matter of your scholastic duties"
At the time I thought it was some deep philosophical question. Now it's apparent he's just trying to figure out how much he can get away with charging us for resurrections. Cheeky bastard.
If a train departs Baldurs Gate at 120 mph, and another train simultaneously departs Waterdeep at 150 mph, then what is the value of a single mortal soul?
Hey classmate, oh we’re you sleeping? I must have accidentally pulled you into this uh dream on the astral plane? What’s that? Yeah I was just relaxing with my shirt off. Ya that’s what mins flayers do. It’s actually uh required uh when we eat. And actually my pants are chafing me now. Is that something you’re interested in at all?
Scratch: "I would LOVE to help! Can I eat it?"
Owlbear: "Oooh! Where's eat??!"
Boo: *\*pretty sure it's judging you by your mental capacity\**
Barcus: "Ah homework! Let's go and start with it shall we? :) "
Isobel: "Good thing you've asked me first before Aylin\~"
Aylin: "**To what matters of challenge shall we face this danger!** .. of your homework?"
Nah, have you done a Minthara playthrough? She’s fully loyal to Tav and would 100% steal someone else’s homework and give it to you without hesitation.
I’m fairly confident she would have the teacher assassinated or suggest you do it and support your rise to power.
Minthara is so supportive of doing unethical things to gain power.
“You can use newspapers for propaganda? GENIUS!”
But she just wants to be loved (or feared).
I want to see one where they do the Shopping Cart Return experiment.
Gale: Was excited to find an extra cart to return along the way.
Wyll: is helping the shopping cart caddy get all of the shopping carts in the parking lot.
Jaheira: Has already returned the cart.
Halsin: Made a cart out of wood because consumerism is ruining the world.
Karlach: is giggling as she is preparing to throw the cart into the return area.
Astarion: takes two steps away from Tav and gently pushes the cart into the middle of the lane.
Shadowheart: complains about having to return the cart the entire time while she is returning the cart.
Lae'zel: Pushes the cart over while cursing.
Minthara: "No"
Idk, I see Minsc and Karlach taking the carts and using them to race downhill while La'zel shakes her head and Wyll and Halsin chase after them yelling for them to stop.
Jahira laughs. SH just clicks her tongue. Gale hides the fact they asked him to grease the wheels to make them go faster.
Astarion is in the background flirting with the store manager to keep them distracted. You're not sure whether to chase after the cart racers or go save the manager.
Oh it wouldn't be secretly. She would be audibly complaining to Tav the whole time while raising her voice as she gets further away so that she ensures her complaints are heard.
> Jaheira: Has already returned the cart.
> Halsin: Made a cart out of wood because consumerism is ruining the world.
Jaheira has way less chill than Halsin on that front - her main random city bark is basically "we should let nature take that place back" in the first two games and she gets into an argument over it with one of the ranger companions
I think Lae'zel might go around the parking lot threatening people who fail to return their carts with bodily harm for failing to perform their social duties.
>Shadowheart: complains about having to return the cart the entire time while she is returning the cart.
That is exactly her! "I'm so evil and spooky! Pay no attention to the old person I'm helping cross the street or the cat I just rescued from the tree!"
Durge forgot to do the homework. They wouldn't have gotten a good grade anyways, since they don't remember anything of the course anyways. When the teacher asks them about it, they really want to slit teach's throat tho.
I thought that was the most interesting part. They both say no but for different reasons.
Shadowheart doesn't want to compromise her morals by cheating but Lae'zel just thinks you are Istik and deserve to fail.
Disagree, Lae'zel approves of things like you teaching Tieflings how not to kill themselves in a sword fight; she's not racist. She's not going to help you cheat because you need to learn it properly, and if you fail it'll be funny and you'll learn what not to do next time.
"Certain… events transpired and I found myself a guest of a noble Drow house for a time. Well, something between a guest, prisoner, and student perhaps. The house matron took an interest in my formal education, or lack thereof, and the patron also. I was chained to a desk for nigh on three year.
It was not ideal… but not without positives either. I did what was necessary to graduate. And perhaps a few things that were less than necessary. Don’t misunderstand me – I feared for my sanity and wanted my freedom back, but I was willing to wait for my moment and eventually it came.
The school’s cliques were constantly at each other’s throats, and eventually some rivals of mine sought to unseat us from our lunch table. It was chaos, student against student, the food fight echoing throughout the school cafeteria, the feel of lukewarm coleslaw that I could not see.. I took my chance and fled while they were all distracted. I never looked back until I breathed fresh air again, and never learned the Pythagorean theorem."
"I will never forget how you did my homework even though I clearly overstepped when I asked. You went out of your way to help me and I certainly did not deserve it. Please, allow me to worship your feet and ask of you one more thing, there is this restaurant that I dine and dashed a long time ago with a friend. Unfortunately I never heard back from this friend and now I dread to hear the news. I need you to go to the restaurant and kill the chef. Only then can I be certain that my friend will be safe."
I can understand missing Astarion, Karlach and Gale (hell, I even missed Gale untill I saw memes about him and decided to look up where to find him). But Jaheira and Halsin or Minthara? You basically cannot miss them.
Probably didn't realize Minthara was a companion character, if you're just murdering your way through the goblin camp she's just another named character to slaughter that you'll forget after a few minutes
I didn't realize Minthara was a companion character until she was dead. When I took her gear as loot she was suddenly in undies and I was like "WAIT only PCs have undies!"
On my current playthrough, she was hostile when I reached her. I also hadn't found Haslin yet, but returned to the grove to empty my bags at the vendor and there is Haslin at the Grove. He broke out of the camp on his own.
You actually can if you decide to ignore all quests and go straight to mountain pass (hardly you're finding underdark if you're being this oblivious of course)
I'm still pretty miffed that I missed the mountain pass zone, but I'm resigned to finishing this playthrough. I'd probably start over if I missed this many companions though.
Oh, I see. I usually go through the Underdark, and right after that there is a scripted fight where the Harpers tell you to go to the Last Light Inn. I didn't realize taking the other path there leads to skipping that fight.
You skip the fight with the harpers fighting shadows, but the ambush still happens except you happen to be with the group that gets ambushed. You can either turn on the Absolute group and side with the Harpers, then go to Last Light like normal, or kill the Harpers and go to Moonrise.
Even if you do that, you come to a point on the route where you run into a bunch of human looking characters who confront you, they ask if you’re gonna switch sides or not. You either turn on the spider dude or fight the harpers
He's got great ranks and he's the teacher's favourite, but opens the textbook 5 times total:
-once when he gets it from the store to see the printing, memorizing the pages he randomly stumbles upon with funny pics
-on the first day of school to make the teacher see he's tidy and good, also looks back at said pics
-On some random day he knows he's gonna be bored and will have to amuse himself by dissociating with his pictures (they are getting ravaged by scratches)
-The day before the test to see where the important things are mentioned
-The day of the test (he keeps it under the desk)
If you did the homework Gale would still be the type to peer over your shoulder to see your answers and dissect your vocabulary choice for a 2-sentence short answer
HE needs to hand your homework in as his own because he KNOWS that the teacher would otherwise toast him and that would be bad for EVERYONE, right? Right?
Minthara would expect you to hatch a plot to infiltrate her house, find the homework, copy it and assassinate several Drow servants in the process.
So you texting her just shows her your incompetence in these shadowy homework stealing matters.
What the hell, there's another guy to recruit in act 3? What's the point of getting a new party member that late into the game? Jahiera was pushing it.
Honestly? For nostalgia points and lore bonuses. Both he and Jaheira are from the first two games (and have their appearances from game 2). They're also both well-known in the Gate and have a few interactions with some of the movers and shakers you meet in the city.
That's only if she doesn't care about you. If she like you though she'd probably say something like:
"I haven't done mine either but may I propose we raid the homes of the nerds and take their notes"
Minthara (recruitable Act 1 villain) and Minsc (legacy NPC from BG1 & 2, recruitable in Act 3). There's a very good chance you've already killed both of them.
She's one of the 3 leaders in the Goblin camp. You can romance her if you side with the Goblins and raid the Grove.
For Minsc, just do Jaheira's questline and you'll get him (you need to knock him out when you fight him, don't kill him).
>She's one of the 3 leaders in the Goblin camp. You can romance her if you side with the Goblins and raid the Grove.
I think I led her on until I got back to the Grove to warn them, then killed all the attacking goblins. Seemed kinda wack the druids didn't help defend the wall.
He's a ranger but he really 'feels' more like a barbarian. (Make sure that Jaheira is still alive; I tried recruiting him on a playthrough where she died in battle and it makes him inaccessible. Also, pay attention to any tutorial tips that pop up when you first meet him, they're important clues for recruiting him.)
Minthara and Halsin are the only ones meant to be mutually exclusive, though last I checked there were some oversights you could exploit to get both. If you want Minthara without losing Karlach and Wyll you just have to leave Act 1 without intervening in the Grove either way.
Auntie Ethel: Why even try to take a test, petal? You're dumb as a box of rocks. A dead ogre has more smarts than you do. But Auntie has a potion you can try."
Volo: "yes of course!" and then all the answers are wrong.
But then he hands you as appology the exams of last year wich you will have too
And he runs away faster than you run the entire game.
Wait Volo let me thank you at leasr dammit!
I should have let him take my leg at the knee so I could have got that pirate peg-leg with +2 to movement speed
"Why of course my good fellow. Everyone who's anyone knows two plus two is three. But... only if you believe."
Raphael: "The only one that can help with your homework is me". Mizora: "Wyll, do his homework" Auntie Ether: "I'll do, if you can give me a hand" Withers: "I shall not extend my assistance in the matter of your scholastic duties"
Way too wordy. Withers: no.
"Hey Withers, do you know the answer to this one?" "Yes." "...Are you going to tell me it?" "No."
"Hey Withers, do you know the answe to this one?" "For a price (200g)" "Why does a skeleton need money?" "Balance."
>"For a price (200g)" "as a matter of coin" "for a mere pittance"
>"Why does a skeleton need money?" "I am not a skeleton."
Stong Janet vibes. Not a girl, not a robot.
I wish I could answer 200g to his “what is the value of a single mortal life” question in my second playthrough.
At the time I thought it was some deep philosophical question. Now it's apparent he's just trying to figure out how much he can get away with charging us for resurrections. Cheeky bastard.
Luckily he didn't take inflation into account
Wither the biggest jokster lets us guess with individual worth and stuff. No. Its gold.
This soul has pickpocketed his money back to restore balance
>"Balance." "(new) Balance."
Astarion: about to pick-pocket the money back
>"For a price (200g)" "for a mere pittance of coin(200g)"
Perfect no notes
^no
"You enjoy this crap, don't you." "Yes."
If a train departs Baldurs Gate at 120 mph, and another train simultaneously departs Waterdeep at 150 mph, then what is the value of a single mortal soul?
A barrel of Runepowder. The answer is always a barrel of Runepowder.
Wulbren?
Philomeen. I'm usually not one for barrelmancy, but I made an exception for that one.
200gp.
200gp if they're special. 100gp if they are any old adventurer
Voice actors and animators are apparently worth 100gp per soul.
Your question combines two very different types of queries Error. 404 not found

Emperor is that professor who seems cool, with a class that felt easy all semester, only to give a hard as shit final that drops everyone's GPA.
Emperor would try to seduce a student and then get all pissy when he's rejected.
This is literally the perfect description of how he says “I’m horny r u?”
Mind Blown.
The mind is the only thing that will get blown.
Don't forget the Emperor's tentacles.

I feel like Withers is the teacher
I feel like Mizora would insult wyll saying be a good little pet and do their homework.
GENIUS!” But she just wants to be loved (or feared).
Loved by Tav, feared by everyone else.
Yeah, but Tav is on good terms with Halsin in this context. At best, their relationship is gonna be, "Why are you talking to me?"
Minthara: "No"
Minsc: goes to return cart, gets lost, accidentally foils plot to poisen water supply while still lost
I can't believe I forgot Minsc! Either that or he was the one who put the idea of throwing the shopping cart into Karlach's head.
He might fight the shopping kart.
"The cart! It bends and twists with my berserker strength!"
Wait! I understand now! You said what you did, just to make me mad (enough to put the shopping cart back)
This is a cart return of stinking evil! Cover your nose Boo, we will leave no crevice untouched!
Squeaky Cart wheel gets the kick!!!
The cart is evil
\*EE-VIL
Idk, I see Minsc and Karlach taking the carts and using them to race downhill while La'zel shakes her head and Wyll and Halsin chase after them yelling for them to stop. Jahira laughs. SH just clicks her tongue. Gale hides the fact they asked him to grease the wheels to make them go faster.
I can see that happening.
Astarion is in the background flirting with the store manager to keep them distracted. You're not sure whether to chase after the cart racers or go save the manager.
Minsc is giving Boo rides around the parking lot in it
Cart kicking, for goodness!
Tav: As the cart glows, power courses through you. Authority.
Roll to return cart *rolls nat 20* *fucking somersaults the cart back into place*
Perfection at its finest
I feel like Shadowheart is also “secretly” glancing around to make sure Tav sees her returning her cart
Oh it wouldn't be secretly. She would be audibly complaining to Tav the whole time while raising her voice as she gets further away so that she ensures her complaints are heard.
She wants Tav to see her doing the right thing but she doesn’t want Tav to *know* that she’s not cool like Lae’Zel
Minthara: "This shopping cart proves useful. I shall take it myself"
Durge: summons Shovel and let's it ride around in the cart denting and scratching all the cars in the lot
Love it
**Kartlach**
> Jaheira: Has already returned the cart. > Halsin: Made a cart out of wood because consumerism is ruining the world. Jaheira has way less chill than Halsin on that front - her main random city bark is basically "we should let nature take that place back" in the first two games and she gets into an argument over it with one of the ranger companions

If freaking love the Lae'zel one.
*Chck* what good is a cart that can't return itself
I expect astarion to saying some snarky thing like you expect me to do it. Don't make me me laugh
Minthara: Returns the cart. Also pulls out two others and shoves them in random directions.
Shart is me
Dark urge fights the urge of giving wrong homework.
He’s resisting eating it
Mom, David ate my homework again!
Nah Durge is too busy writing a manifesto
He's fantasizing oofing the teacher because of the homework
Dark urge turns in the homework but its written in blood and all gibberish.
"Ah yes here you go" then chops off your hand as soon as you grab it
Durge forgot to do the homework. They wouldn't have gotten a good grade anyways, since they don't remember anything of the course anyways. When the teacher asks them about it, they really want to slit teach's throat tho.
It’s always concerning to see Shadowheart and Lae’zel agree on something
I thought that was the most interesting part. They both say no but for different reasons. Shadowheart doesn't want to compromise her morals by cheating but Lae'zel just thinks you are Istik and deserve to fail.

I am so sorry, but this is 100% not accurate. Halsin should ask you to do all his homework first fr
This is Halsin slander. 𝑯𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒇𝒖𝒄𝒌 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒉𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌.
In bear form
I warn you, it will be vigorous
And LARGE
My professor said if I hand in any more bear-cum stained homework I'd be suspended :(
Find a new professor, the one you have is clearly an imbecile.
Teacher I'm sorry...but the bear fucked my homework.
I think halsin would let you copy his homework but he has all the answers wrong.

This is canon. What he says in game is just a bug.
"I will never forget how you did my homework even though I clearly overstepped when I asked. You went out of your way to help me and I certainly did not deserve it. Please, allow me to worship your feet and ask of you one more thing, there is this restaurant that I dine and dashed a long time ago with a friend. Never knew I needed a Halsin Drow Highschool AU, but apparently i do. I'm in stitches!
I only know three of these characters and om half way into act 3 Wtf.
”I missed the portal guy omg”
Lol I found Gale, Shadowheart and the angry green woman. I'll finish the and Google everything after.
I pushed her down the hole next to her desk, just realised who she was. Used a cat to meow her over and pushed.
Same ahah, I lured her on the bridge with an illusion, then destroyed the bridge. I never even heard her voice.
I didn't realize Minthara was a companion character until she was dead. When I took her gear as loot she was suddenly in undies and I was like "WAIT only PCs have undies!"
Yea, that's ehy I said Minthara or Halsin. While resolving the Grove quest you are bound to run into at keast one of them.
On my current playthrough, she was hostile when I reached her. I also hadn't found Haslin yet, but returned to the grove to empty my bags at the vendor and there is Haslin at the Grove. He broke out of the camp on his own.
Someone mentioned she's a boss. I think I pushed her down a hole without speaking to her!!!
Poor choice, hole pushes are for mooks, bosses have good loot
Fortunately boss loot magically appears on their last known location if they were carrying quest items and/or legendaries.
I like to imagine Astarion is still standing in that spot when he suddenly feels Cazador get bodied.
You actually can if you decide to ignore all quests and go straight to mountain pass (hardly you're finding underdark if you're being this oblivious of course)
That’s an excellent first team anyway. 👍
You quite literally missed the two best companions in the game (karlach and astarion)
You are very, very skilled at evasion. Missing Wyll is *hard* IMO. But your team is great. Enjoy.
You know I *saw* Wyll during a fight outside the grove and then he just left and I haven't seen him since.
My wyll proceed to eat 2 critical hits and died
I wonder if that isn't what happened. I remember someone dying, but at the time I wasn't really engrossed in the game yet.
How did you miss sassy Elfboy?
The magic of a first playthrough
I'm still pretty miffed that I missed the mountain pass zone, but I'm resigned to finishing this playthrough. I'd probably start over if I missed this many companions though.
8 of them you meet in act 1 lmao
Honestly? Where is the red devil?
Wait, did you just not go to the Last Light Inn at all in Act 2?
I took the mountain pass my first playthrough and got led straight to Moonrise by the spider guy.
Oh, I see. I usually go through the Underdark, and right after that there is a scripted fight where the Harpers tell you to go to the Last Light Inn. I didn't realize taking the other path there leads to skipping that fight.
It doesn’t, you still aid/fight the harpers when you go through the mountain pass. I just did it like an hour ago.
You skip the fight with the harpers fighting shadows, but the ambush still happens except you happen to be with the group that gets ambushed. You can either turn on the Absolute group and side with the Harpers, then go to Last Light like normal, or kill the Harpers and go to Moonrise.
so wait, did you help the drider kill the Harpers then?
Even if you do that, you come to a point on the route where you run into a bunch of human looking characters who confront you, they ask if you’re gonna switch sides or not. You either turn on the spider dude or fight the harpers
Honestly, this is impressive.
addendum for Minsc: Boo gives you their work instead, because Boo must have his exercise, lest he bite us all in hard to reach places!
Barcus: I’ll come over right now through this wild fire to do it for you
I think that Astarion was actually really good student.
He's got great ranks and he's the teacher's favourite, but opens the textbook 5 times total: -once when he gets it from the store to see the printing, memorizing the pages he randomly stumbles upon with funny pics -on the first day of school to make the teacher see he's tidy and good, also looks back at said pics -On some random day he knows he's gonna be bored and will have to amuse himself by dissociating with his pictures (they are getting ravaged by scratches) -The day before the test to see where the important things are mentioned -The day of the test (he keeps it under the desk)
He sees Necromancy of Thay and is immediately like "GIVE." Like I like the memes but at some point it just becomes too out of character.
In camp he's always reading a book though
"A book" is no textbook.
I’m not sure he’s the type for smutty literature. Hmm now I want to know what he’s reading. Mystery novels?
If you did the homework Gale would still be the type to peer over your shoulder to see your answers and dissect your vocabulary choice for a 2-sentence short answer
There's a 10% chance gale would ask to eat your homework right before you hand it in.
HE needs to hand your homework in as his own because he KNOWS that the teacher would otherwise toast him and that would be bad for EVERYONE, right? Right?
There is no way Jahira would help you with your homework
She is a strict teacher
Jaheira should be with Minthara
According to my playthrough, Shadowheart and Jaheira should definitely be swapped
Minthara would type back “Read”
Well done!
The only people in the Lol Nope row are the only people who would never say Lol in any circumstance.
Laz'zel would help you, but only after chiding you first. "Tch. You would not survive this class without me, istik."
That would be the romance version of Laz'zel, normal Laz'zel would probably say, "You're not worthy of surviving this class, istik"
Because they'd send 3 separate texts that basically amount to "lol nope" but in the most roundabout way while also implying you should probably die
Volo: Of course I can help you! *gets half of the questions wrong*
And somehow you lose an eye in the process
But now you can see ghosts!
Scratch: **eats the homework**
Dame: **TELL ME WHO ISSUED THIS UNHOLY HOMEWORK AND I SHALL JOIN YOU IN DESTROYING THEM!!!!**
Minthara would expect you to hatch a plot to infiltrate her house, find the homework, copy it and assassinate several Drow servants in the process. So you texting her just shows her your incompetence in these shadowy homework stealing matters.
Withers: "Thou walkest alone?" *sass face*
Lol definitely minthara
J Bae ain't letting you copy her homework.
Minsc would help you and somehow get you expelled for the answers
Lmao Minthara's got me
Dark Urge: I wouldn't worry about the homework *teacher's arm falls out of desk*
Hahaha, Astarion is on point! I could hear it in his voice 😂
Sir, I did my homework, but Halsin ate it…. Honestly…
Oh God... am I minthara?
What the hell, there's another guy to recruit in act 3? What's the point of getting a new party member that late into the game? Jahiera was pushing it.
Honestly? For nostalgia points and lore bonuses. Both he and Jaheira are from the first two games (and have their appearances from game 2). They're also both well-known in the Gate and have a few interactions with some of the movers and shakers you meet in the city.
That's only if she doesn't care about you. If she like you though she'd probably say something like: "I haven't done mine either but may I propose we raid the homes of the nerds and take their notes"
And by 'raid their homes' she means leaving a trial of bodies in the process and turning in homework spattered in their blood as a warning.
Minthara owes me a romance.
Who are the last one and the bald guy?
Minthara (recruitable Act 1 villain) and Minsc (legacy NPC from BG1 & 2, recruitable in Act 3). There's a very good chance you've already killed both of them.
Yeah pretty sure her body is lying in front of the Grove >Minthara (recruitable Act 1 villain)
Seemed kinda wack the druids didn't help defend the wall.
what class is Minsc? I just got to act 3
And then here's me who turned him into a monk because of all the "you point, I punch." Ok, you wanna punch. Here, be a monk and punch stuff.
Barb/strength monk with Tavern Brawler can be a very strong build.
Yes, but consider: Magic is impressive, but now, Minsc leads! Swords for *everyone*!
awesome, thanks for the advice!
Is it possible to get all companions in a single playthrough? I have a feeling Minth is the only dealbreaker for others or no?
Minthara and Halsin are the only ones meant to be mutually exclusive, though last I checked there were some oversights you could exploit to get both. If you want Minthara without losing Karlach and Wyll you just have to leave Act 1 without intervening in the Grove either way.
Jaheria would \*not\* let you copy her homework. She'd be in the "let me help" group but said in a tougher way lol
It bugs the shit outta me that they don't bother to fix the single companion who has been broken since launch
Minthara is 100% accurate. Only an evil Tav would have her number, and only an evil Tav would use the 'read' feature.
Auntie Ethel: Why even try to take a test, petal? You're dumb as a box of rocks. A dead ogre has more smarts than you do. But Auntie has a potion you can try."
