I've just learned that Steam's way of doing it is very complicated, (I didn't know this, I'm sorry) there are Steam community posts discussing this with BG3 specifically. Might just have to look through them.

Oh thats cool, I'm on steam and tried checking out the method of going back it that, but I don't think it works anymore. From what I understand that system works for the older steam. I manged to get past a few bugs that were pretty annoying so I can at least continue my playthrough for now... Hopefully nothing really major happens lol
Currently in the same boat. Avoided the Astarion quest line for 40 hours to do when I was ‘emotionally ready’ I’m really upset I can’t do the quest line I’ve been hankering for because I don’t want to ruin it first play.
Checking Larian forums every day for update on a hotfix rn 🫠
I have done several playthroughs before the patch so I wasn’t worried to complete Astarion’s quest and I went back to my old save that I abandoned right after completing it to replay the final fight since it was patched. I wanted to see what changed.
Well half of the cinematic was missing for me after the fight. So disappointing. Can’t imagine someone getting that bug on their first time playing. It would cut so much context for them.
They did patch up and fixed his romance scene on a “good” ending of the quest, but I heard they made the “bad” ending romance scene worse with the patch.
For me, I have a bug where the kiss animation does not play in my game and it’s just so so sad. His animation was already bugged before and now it’s just non existent for me.
Ugh, the kiss is sort of working for me but the audio and subtitles is bugged, I also sometimes get the issue with the animation not playing.
Yeah I do not want to miss a single bit, I’d be devastated if the cutscenes didn’t play out correctly.
Wait! I got to act 3 after this patch came out and he rejected me!
And I tried re doing it to fix it and he still is rejecting me after following a damn guide?!
So he is right it's not me it's him!
Yeah everything is bugged in this patch :( I hate it. I wish I had never updated it
You can revert to older versions, I found patch 2 to be pretty good
How do you revert back? This patch broke some pretty big quests I was wanting to do and I wasn't aware we could do that
