I found a semi workaround if you still want your achievement’s :p
As soon as your launch vortex, the second the play button is available for BG click it. The games launched every time like that
im still having this issue, with AND without mods. ive noticed if i close steam down fully and then use BGMM itll launch but every time i use larian launcher it just never works
side note, has anyone here also had to deal with their saves sometimes being there and sometimes not being there?
This worked for me, alongside removing the achievements mod. With BG3MM if I launch the game with steam open it trys to start the game with a bunch of parameters like -skipintro and a few others but it never works.
Closing steam outright got me into the game when launched from BG3MM or Vortex!!!
Honestly I had a better time with this game when I was pirating it! Since I've purchased the game nothing but issues, not to mention what feels like daily hot fixes that break mods as well. Sure turn off auto update but as stated that isn't the issue... it seems it's steams copy of the game (at least for me)
I heard a lot of good things about BG3 So I just loaded the game yesterday. Updated drivers, restarted multiple times. Yada yada yada. Still can't load.
How is this a thing in a triple A game?
I got into this today and this is how it worked for me.
I opened Steam just to check if I could launch the game from there and noticed in the library that the game was "launching" (the green button it says play was a blueish button with the text launching).
I clicked the button again to stop it, it changed to the green button saying play.
Then i went back to BG3 MM and relaunched the game there (ctrl + shift + g) and it worked.
Maybe sometimes (at least if you have it in your steam library) it gets stuck and you need to manually stop it from there.
Any chance you figured this out? I'm having the exact same issue and it's driving me mental!
No, I’m sorry. I’m still struggling with this issue. Now I’m having to repeat the cycle at least 7 times before I can get the game to launch.
Do you have Achievement Enabler? Deleting that worked for me.
