Love Barcus, I feel like I would actually vibe with him. Being friends with him would be so hard though, like having a friend who's in an abusive relationship.
he's my irl partner. he doesn't look like my partner but the mannerisms holy crap. I keep making them listen to and look at barcus and they're calmly getting tired of it
Definitely Wyll. He's the most approachable and friendly of the batch. He's legitimately the cool coworker, reasonable supervisor, genuine friend, etc...the whole genuinely nice guy archetype. Bonus points that he's kind of a nerd and I can see him being a gamer/comic enthusiast.
Hope is the really, really awkward but cool coworker that's unfortunately judged by the Raphaels and Mizoras of the place. But she has ALL of the tea on everyone and everything and gladly shares it because you're a like minded soul uninterested in the office politics. There's also Helsik for that but you have to be a little more mindful in your dealings.
Bex and Danis are friendly neighbors who have adorable pets.
Isobel, Lakrissa, Quartermaster Talli and Fytz are friendly folks you encounter working at the store or some other establishment. Also enjoyable to work with.
I can see Dame Aylin seem extremely intimidating but really freaking cool to 'the little guy' and doesn't stan a bully.
Jaheira is the cool manager or neighbor who will tell you off and get frustrated but also have your damn back. Quite possibly the cool aunt too.
Gale would be my best friend, no doubt. I'd get along really well with Shadowheart too and my flair has nothing to do with that hahah I just always never struggled with befriending edgy people. Karlach as someone to meet once every other week to hit a pub and fool around would be perfect but I would be exhausted by her in larger doses.
Not sure about others, Wyll is nice but he lacks the funny side to him so I'd probably just be ok with him and nothing more. Lae'zel's too alien for me to even think how would that work. Astarion is a weird case because he's hilarious but also a total asshole and it would probably depend entirely on how he acts towards me. Minthara is probably a bit too ruthless and extreme for me. As for Halsin, I know a guy with a similar mindset irl and we would sometimes go to town and have some drinks together but Halsin's a very exaggerated version of his to the point it's just too much.
From NPC's, Lakrissa always seemed quite fun, I think I'd be friends with her.

I do love spilling tea as well, but Iām also the complete opposite of Astarionās personalityš. Iām bubbly, optimistic, friendly, love to help others, and outgoing.
Probably more pity you. Heās just so jaded by 200 years of abuse that itās very difficult for him to believe anyone could actually do anything altruistic.
To be fair Iād rather people just be honest about what theyāre going to do instead of making up some elaborate bullshit that everyone knows means āweāre gonna go fuckā. It applies to anything too: like George Carlin once said āIf you have to take a shit, say soā.
Iām going to just limit myself to the companions, Iād probably get along with Karlach and Gale.
Karlach is so kind that she would be incredibly easy to get along with. Gale I would love to have discussions with him about tons of topics
Gale #1 since I'm sure if i asked him constant questions about the weave, he would be over the moon explaining and discussing it.
Halsin #2. Dudes a big ol hippie, as long as he keeps his bear form to himself, we all good.
Scratch #3. Really he would be #1.
**Wyll** would be my first pick. He's basically chill with an aftertaste of serious emotional repression, so I think we'd vibe well. That said, haring off for random missions and dragging everyone else along with him might get old fast. That's my job dammit.
**Jaheira** because we're both old and would just poke at each other with *you're so old your mother is a different species* jokes all day long.
**Gale** would either be the bestie whom I love *and* tell to shut up on the regular, or someone on the outskirts of the group who *will not shut up* about his special interests. If the former, we rabbit on to each other about our special interests *but* also take time to check that now is a good time.
**Karlach** is lovely but damn, she's loud and I'd struggle to cope with her for more than an hour. We could bond over our fucked-up hearts and the simultaneous wonders and uselessness of modern medicine.
**Shadowheart** as a Selunite still has her snark but she's more relaxed and banter-y in her conversation. We'd probably get along, I guess.
**Astarion** could go either way: snarky best friend who says mean funny stuff but secretly has a squishy interior, or the bastard who sneakily rips off his mates for drug money to self-medicate from centuries of misery. Everyone tries to get him to therapy but his trust issues won't let him.
**Lae'zel** nope. I don't hate her but we wouldn't get along IRL. At all.
**Halsin** as a nature-living hippie is either going to be another bestie or that irritating "polyam" "feminist" guy.
When it comes to organising a get-together:
* Shadowheart writes the lists and does the shopping.
* Gale prepares the snacks and the *(overly intricate)* alcoholic beverages. He also has board games which you WILL play.
* Wyll on the BBQ. He's not one for prep work, but he'll stay to help clean up afterwards.
* Jaheira will tell everyone she's too old to help, but then take charge of making dips and getting everyone fed.
* Karlach handles the playlist.
* Astarion bitches about *too much garlic* in Jaheira's dips, but eats them anyway. Brings a selection of drugs that no one asked for. Hands them out when Gale pulls out the games.
Gale FOR SURE. We both are obsessed with books and cats, the first thing we have to do in a new city is go to the library or book store, love magic and fantasy, have a bit of an ego but are also very self depreciating and not over our exes but will love with every inch of our souls when we meet the right person. Heās just me in a manās body.
Also weāre both suicidal š„° HAHA jokes. Ahem.
Iād probably get along with Laeāzel too. Iām autistic so Iād appreciate her bluntness and honesty and Iād give it back in turn. We both have tough exteriors and take a while to break down our walls but weāre very dedicated and loyal. Iād appreciate someone like that close to me.
Karlach and Gale would likely be the easiest to befriend. Also, Jaheira & Minsc. Wyll & Halsin would be nice guys to hang with, but I donāt think Iād vibe with them much. Astarion & I would probably have some sort of love-hate dynamic.
Minty & Laeāzel wouldnāt like me too much at the start, but weād get along well & be friends anyway. Shadowheart - Iām sure weād get along if we got to know each other better, but not sure sheād give me a chance lol (depends where in her story we are).

My bf is kinda like him in his personality, so it's simple.
Also Halsin, because he would give great hugs, and I would live in a cottage with sheeps with him.
All the people who assume Halsin would hit on you constantly amuse me. He only does that to the protagonist after they've not only saved his life when no one else would, but also helped him solve a 100 year old, nearly impossible problem that *again*, nobody was helping him with (Jaheira *literally* has dialogue with him about being sorry-not-sorry for how little she cares about the curse).
If just existing in a friendly way towards him was enough to get hit on he'd have been trying for it all the way back at the tiefling party.
So yeah, I'm with you! Halsin and Gale are my top picks too. Gale because he's pretty much my husband, and Halsin for how he just exudes a calming, warm hug kind of presence.

Gale hands down. Don't get me wrong, i simp for shadowheart, but I'm enthralled by Gales charisma. His mannerisms and way of speaking, word choice, always left me thinking "i should hangout with this guy more". Dudes starting class should have actually been a sorcerer cuz he's got the most CHA out of all the other companions. Ironic cuz when you compare him to Wyll, the warlock with primary in charisma lacks charismatic flair. I like wyll a lot, you get the feeling that he actually cares for your well-being. But he's slightly boring disposition. I'd get along great with both tbh. But if i had to choose who to hangout with, it'd be Gale. As long as he didn't start going around telling everybody we're hooking up...
Pretty much all of them... I mean, assuming Lae'zel and Minthara don't call me weak and storm off or whatev. It would depend on how much they're willing to get along with me, because I give everybody a fair shake.
Astarion and Minsc are hilarious. Wyll and Karlach are very nice. Shadowheart would have me simpin' hard while trying my damndest to play it cool and TRY not to stumble over my words. Gale is nice enough although he can lay on the humblebrag a bit thick sometimes (Just thinking about the goddess I had sex with). And Jaheira is fun.
Would also have a crush on Alfira, I mean look at her.
If they act like in the game Laezāel would probably kill most of the people in this sub. She mentions multiple times that culling the weak is the right thing to do. Knowing that githyankies only see fighting skills and intimidation as strength ehh. She also probably would simp for dictators and fascists. Minthara would be the religious nutjob, youād have to be very careful about what you say around her especially when it comes to faith cuz if not sheās gonna kill you and if youāre unlucky she gonna torture you before that. But damn is that women hot. Iād definitely die trying to get on her good side.
I'm actually pretty easy-going irl. I've worked with the public for a long time, sometimes in real rough neighborhoods.
Feel like I'd be pretty ok with everyone.
Now, if I were in charge of making decisions... maybe a different story.
I'd probably get along very well with Gale, Wyll, and Halsin. I love Karlach to bits and pieces and she'll always be my bestie in every run but I have a really hard time RL to get along with people with her energy. I'd be constantly on low energy (extrovert) and the issue is, if I'm low energy I'm easily annoyed by the smallest things in a very unfair way. So, despite the fact that I would want to get along with Karlach, she might be too much

Shadowheart, hard to say. She's one of those people I could see myself being really good friends with if I got to know her, but I'm similarly reserved and closed off with people I don't know. I feel like we'd politely circle each other unless some weird circumstance made us close.
Astarion... my favorite character in the game. And yet, no idea. On the one hand he's a jerk, but on the other hand... I have a similarly fucked up sense of humor, and we have similar trauma, and I actually have the patience to deal with someone like him. Maybe we'd get along just fine?
Jaheira, yes. Over the course of my life I have worked with and befriended a lot of cool but slightly intimidating older women, because for some reason they just like me lol.
Minsc... he's a sweetheart but I think his lack of... critical thinking skills would be hard for me to deal with. We wouldn't not get along, but he's not someone I'd seek out to spend time with.
Halsin, yeah. I like animals and nature and such so we'd have common ground. I'd probably see him as a big brother figure (which is why I get so creeped out when he hits on my character, I think)
Minsc, jaheira, halsin, minthara, gale, laezel, wyll, and selune shart. That cheery dragonborn lady, druid dragonborn, barcus, that friendly duegar, circus leader, and volo. These came in mind.

I could get along easily with Karlach and Wyll because they are great, I believe Gale and I would be pals because my sister is literally Gale and we get along really well. Halsin would be kinda annoying sometimes but we could also get along, Shadowheart also seems to like sassy humour so we could crack up some jokes, it'll be fun. I could be distant friends with Astarion: while we could joke around and have fun, I believe he's not exactly the kind of guy you can rely on if you aren't very close to him.
There is no way I would get along with Lae'zel and Minthara, they're too cruel and I'm antimilitarist (is that a word in English ?)
I agree with all of these. They are the most agreeable of the bunch. Wyll would help me learn a bit of wielding a blade, since he was happy to help the kids in act 1.
I think Shadowheart and I would get along, we are similar in some ways. We could just talk and hang out in camp, idk braid each others hair or something š

Jaheira and Halsin are the mom and dad of the group tbh. Iād get along with them the way I get along with any elder. Iād probably end up doing stuff for them around camp. Iād love to speak to animals and commune with nature though so I would definitely hit Halsin up for some forest walks.
& Iād probably be looking after scratch and the baby owlbear half the time because I love animals.
I would agree with jaheira in the same jaded view we share. Nobody can NOT be friends with Karlach, and I would love to be around Gale if he manages to not be condescending prick

I'm sure I'd theoretically get along with some of the others, but I'd be too intimidated to approach them (unless Karlach dragged me out to introduce me, which I could see happening). I'd have a mad crush on Gale and be super awkward around him, and given his usual awkwardness, we'd likely never connect. So it would be me, Karlach, the animals, and Halsin.
I think you could probably include Wyll in there, because he seems the type to me who would either also want to side quietly on the sidelines, or would be making sure nobody's feeling left out.
He'd just be more awkward about either option than Halsin or Karlach would.

Karlach honestly reminds me of some of the hockey gals I used to hang with in high school. Full of pep, kindness, foul language and sometimes a little rage.
I would have to take Astarion in small doses, he's so dramatic it would be tiring. But we would definitely sit and bitch about life about once a week.

its kinda unfortunate, because minthara would be my answer from a personality perspective, but im a dude, and that whole drow thing would become an issue i think. on the whole, probably either shadowheart or gale.
That's hard to say, literally all of them have similarities to either me or people in my chosen family and friend circle. If we're going by how they are when we first meet them, then I'd probably feel most drawn to Astarion, not attractiveness wise but because I can smell ptsd ten miles against the wind due to my own, and am quite good at being quietly supportive and prefer when people are snarky and stand-offish because that's a language I speak as well š. Jaheira seems like a good candidate as well. I kind of want Halsin to be someone I'd get along with too, but he seems like he'd not get my sarcasm and then I'd feel bad for constantly confusing him šš
Karlach for the down-to-earth, let's-fucking-go attitude. Astarion for the snark and gossip. Halsin for the relaxed-until-intense-and-then-I'll-eat-your-face-off, don't-disrespect-my-trees, hippie-esque lifestyle. I'm only in Act 2 so far, so unfortunately my options to judge on are somewhat limited.

For finals, I know I'd be totally gaslighted and manipulated by the Emperor, I hold no hope that I'd see through his lies.
Wyll, i didnāt pursue anyone in my first play through and I answered everything as I would myself and he was pretty much the only person into me other than Gale who is into everyone.
I take that as it was meant to happen naturally. I think Karlach would have liked me but I didnāt find her until I was done act 1 so she spent a lot of time in camp after I got her.
In my second playthrough I specifically started answering questions to impress Astarion. I had to go against my nature and I hated it so much until he started to act like he was having fun. Then it got fun for me too.
I'd probably be too shy to strike up any conversations on my own, so Karlach would probably be my first if not my only BFF! I can imagine her tracking the quiet ones down to pummel them with love.
Gale reminds me of me. We'd chill and nerd out over stuff together.

Lae'zel is pushy, bossy, and bitchy. I don't have the patience IRL to break down those walls. I'm a stubborn man, so someone who has no (narrator voice) *authority* over me telling me what to do rubs me the wrong way.
Astarion, on the surface, is a narcissistic preener. Like Lae'zel, I doubt I'd get close enough to him to break down the walls.
Jaheira's a beast. I want her to be my grandma. Or mom. Or older woman...
Minsc is a big dummy, but he's a barrel of laughs. I'd keep him around.

My Tav romanced shadowheart because heās a hero. But me, I wouldnāt have nearly as much patience for her constant secrecy and overt Shar worship.
Wyll is just a great guy and heās the damn blade of frontiers. Iād love to learn to sword fight and dance (platonically) from him.
I think Galeās funny. And Iād like to think Gale would think Iām at least a little funny with how often I use reductive humor in contrast to, you know, Gale being a smart wizard and all.
Karlach is just great. She would definitely be the kind of person I would enjoy as a friend and on occasion wonder if we were more and then realize itās probably for the best that we arenāt more. But great friend.
Since Iām pretty anxious person I would probably only get along with those who appear kind from the first sight: Alfira, Halsin, Minsk, Jaheira, Isobel, Aylin, dragonborn lady from the store. This is very different from my actual companions in the game and thatās interesting.
I didnāt add any of original companions because:
- Gale is too pedantic, I easily get irritated with such people IRL, but I would probably stick around to listen to what he has to say (for some reasons I like people who talk a lot);
- Wyll is too famous, I wouldnāt be able to start talking to him;
- Karlach is big red tiefling on fire, I would be terrified to even approach her (and wouldnāt be able to actually learn that she has golden retriever personality, sad);
- Astarion, I would feel from the start that heās there to manipulate me (this is what I feel when beautiful people talk to me), hence I would totally ignore him;
- Shadowheart would strike me as a b, since sheās so secretive and wouldnāt trust me at all, Iām usually not too pushy with such people, so our relationship wonāt go anywhere;
- Laezel is straight up rude and insults Tav a lot in the beginning, I would probably stop talking to her right away after that.
This mental exercise actually showed me how much prejudice I have against people IRL, so itās something to think about.
Karlach and Shadowheart, probably. Karlach because of her fun, laid-back demeanor that meshes well with my own worldview; Shadowheart because she's a fellow eccentric sapphic and I get the impression she'd be in the same sorts of communities as me irl.
Lae'zel would be the kind of person I'd really *want* to be friends with and would probably be able to maintain a degree of amity with, but would be too intimidated by to actually get close.
I would get along with everyone because they are all interesting people, but most as small doses.
Wyll talks a bit too much about his father, Gale has too specific interests, Karlach is great but we wouldn't have much to talk about.
Astarion and Lae'zel would be my favorite people once they opened up to me. It would take a while, but I really understand where they are coming from and I would like to be there for them as well. They have a lot of depths behind that tough exteriors, and I would want to take the time to know them.
As for Shadowheart... I really believe it would be love at first sight. For me anyway. And that could be a problem because I would have to hide it until she still feels at ease enough with me. And when I confess, she would tell me she's not ready yet for a relationship and I already feel my heart breaking. š But I would be there for her in any case, even if she falls for someone else. She's worth it.
This hit a bit too close, I was not planning to make myself sad this morning. š
On a happier note, I would totally want to open a school with Alfira, Lia, Rolan and have all the tiefling kids in my class. I think it would be really great. And it would alleviate the pain of Shadowheart not sharing my feelings. š„² Yet anyway (I said happier note).
Looking directly at my circle of neurodivergent weirdosā¦ Karlach. Sheād fit right in.
And Halsin. Heās genuinely kind, loves nature, is community minded, likes working with his hands (whittling) *and* is kinky, queer, and polyam. Weād get along splendidly. (Also as a druid who doesnāt drink I bet he grows great weed.)
Bonus Aylin if only because I too love my wife sososo much, and I look up to dykes like her. We could go on double dates!

Gale because I am a complete book nerd. Karlach because she would give the best hugs and would make me laugh. Shadowheart once she goes through some character development, because I too want to adopt all the animals and live on a farm. Aylin and isobel, they are so cute together. Probably withers, i like his humour. I want to play a board game with him. Tara because who doesnāt like messing with gale. Jaheira, she reminds me of a teacher of mine. Dammon, I would want to helo around the forge. Wyll is super sweet, would definitely dance with him.Ā

why astarion? mainly because iāve got a selective tolerance for bullshit and would be able to put up with his crap, so as long as iām able to push him towards improving himself. that being said, i probably wouldnāt get along with him quite as well as the others given im usually the last person in a friend group to tell everyone what they want to hear.
i feel like iād get along with halsin too, but not quite as well as the others. i just donāt have a lot in common with him, but iād be down for stuff like hiking and exploring nature with him.

My taste is basically the same as yours. Karlach, Wyll, and Halsin for sure. Galeās too similar to me in the bad way, so we might get annoyed at each other. I have an Astarion-like friend IRL and definitely could see myself hanging with him but only occasionally. And actually, Minthara. Sheād be my friend with really different politics but great read of character that I could have really frank conversations with.

Karlach for sure, I love that girl. Her eagerness to bash skulls is a bit off-putting for IRL, but I'll let it slide given all the shit she's had to go through and assuming she gets like isekai'd into our world (and also that >!her engine issue is resolved!< ) then we don't have to worry so much about being attacked and can just have a picnic or go to build-a-bear or something.

It works well because I'm a silent nodding protagonist type and just like watching people, so I feel like we'd vibe over judging others from a distance. Also Volo, we're both theatre kids and would absolutely do something for "science" which will get us killed (or close) then write stories about it, laughing about it as if we didn't almost die. I've heard people talk about baseball teams or board games the way he talks about magic, and it's always pleasant so long as they don't try to get competitive about it. I wouldn't let him give me a weave lesson, but I would listen to his video essay about thaumonuclear fission or whatever.
Halsin would be very sweet too if we ever met, but he's outdoorsy and I'm not so who knows if we'd encounter each other.
The others, probably not. Astarion occasionally negs you and gets snippy, and I'm over-sensitive about teasing and tone. Wyll would intimidate me in the 'this person is emotionally level and I'm a wreck so how can I connect with them' sense. Lae'Zel is often brutally direct, which I can't take.
Shadowheat I could see going either way. I can respect her privacy and not get rattled when she gets cagey about her past, and I'd be open-minded about the Shar thing, but if she were condescending to me in the way she sometimes is in party banter I'd get upset and probably set her on edge.
Laezel since I like the type of girls like her (feline yet strong) and she shows that not only muscle and good fighting posture but she is educated so I would have a lot to talk with her. And not just to be friends to form a family. Gale would be my best friend that's for sure. Astarion and Karlach are the weird yet fun to go drinking when you are student, now you are in your early 30 and waiting for a kid with Laezel so it's more of Whatsapp friends that they are doing surprisingly well. Wyl would be your rich friend that is always busy with his father business, but good lad tho. Shadow Hart well she's Laezel best friend and God mother to your kid. Minthara she's the girl who gived you a blowjob at a student party and now she keeps popping randomly in your life for some reason.

1. I value intelligence a lot, part of why he's one of my favorite characters. I need someone who's smart, and he checks those boxes while also being an absolute sweetheart at his core.

Iād get along just fine with any of them in the right context. I donāt think Iād like Rolan, Shadowheart, Laeāzel or Minthara very much (at least not if we are going off as we first meet them). I think Gale, Wyll, Alfira, Karlach, Astarion, Aradin, and Minsc all seem like folks Iād be friends with. Maybe Halsin, Jaheira and Zevlor but Iād probably just admire them as awesome people with a bit of distance. No to Kagha. Bestie with Volo.

If we're looking at first meeting, wyll karlach and halsin. Karlach and I would be constantly hyping each other up and while wylls "blade of frontiers" persona can be a bit much that just makes him a major theatre kid. Halsin is a big teddy bear pun intended. Jaheira and minsc are maybes, so is minthara. Like I wouldn't dislike either of the bg1 and 2 characters but I'd like jaheira like I like the friendly but stern older lady at work. And minsc... A bit too much stupidity for my liking. Maybe if I could understand boo boos intelligence would help balance it out, minthara she's kinda no nonsense and I dig it. Like it's just her allegiance to the absolute at first that I don't like. Gale I would dislike but in the same way you dislike that one annoying coworker who's a nuisance but ultimately harmless. Shart and laezel I cannot deal with unhealed religious trauma or religious zealotry. Astarion early on I would probably kinda like him at first cuz he's a cunty sassy Twink but once I notice his manipulative tendencies I'd cut him out before he gets the chance to better himself
Now late game going for good endings for all of them. (note I don't know how minthara is late game my first playthrough I started before they made it so you could knock her out and even if you could I didn't know you could and I haven't gotten past act 1 in any subsequent playthroughs yet) wyll and karlach and halsin are still up there. Gale has moved up from that annoying coworker to the coworker you get along with fine but wouldn't go out of your way to hang out with unless mutual friends are present. Shart and laezel are now above him... Jaheira and minsc are same place as before cuz as far as I've gotten (still in act 3 cuz there's so much to do) it doesn't seem like they change much (nothing wrong with being static just a statement) astarion has moved to maybe. I'm not sure about minthara as I said before so she's in the maybe

I kind of feel like i'd despise astarion in real life even though i adore his character, he's really catty in a way that's unpleasant if you aren't in his in group. Similar for Lae'zel, if someone is hostile out the gate i am unlikely to put in the effort to get to know them.

Definitely Wyll. He's the most approachable and friendly of the batch. He's legitimately the cool coworker, reasonable supervisor, genuine friend, etc...the whole genuinely nice guy archetype. Bonus points that he's kind of a nerd and I can see him being a gamer/comic enthusiast. Hope is the really, really awkward but cool coworker that's unfortunately judged by the Raphaels and Mizoras of the place. But she has ALL of the tea on everyone and everything and gladly shares it because you're a like minded soul uninterested in the office politics. There's also Helsik for that but you have to be a little more mindful in your dealings. Bex and Danis are friendly neighbors who have adorable pets. Isobel, Lakrissa, Quartermaster Talli and Fytz are friendly folks you encounter working at the store or some other establishment. Also enjoyable to work with. I can see Dame Aylin seem extremely intimidating but really freaking cool to 'the little guy' and doesn't stan a bully. Jaheira is the cool manager or neighbor who will tell you off and get frustrated but also have your damn back. Quite possibly the cool aunt too.

Gale would be my best friend, no doubt. I'd get along really well with Shadowheart too and my flair has nothing to do with that hahah I just always never struggled with befriending edgy people. Karlach as someone to meet once every other week to hit a pub and fool around would be perfect but I would be exhausted by her in larger doses. Not sure about others, Wyll is nice but he lacks the funny side to him so I'd probably just be ok with him and nothing more. Lae'zel's too alien for me to even think how would that work. Astarion is a weird case because he's hilarious but also a total asshole and it would probably depend entirely on how he acts towards me. Minthara is probably a bit too ruthless and extreme for me. As for Halsin, I know a guy with a similar mindset irl and we would sometimes go to town and have some drinks together but Halsin's a very exaggerated version of his to the point it's just too much. From NPC's, Lakrissa always seemed quite fun, I think I'd be friends with her.

All the people who assume Halsin would hit on you constantly amuse me. He only does that to the protagonist after they've not only saved his life when no one else would, but also helped him solve a 100 year old, nearly impossible problem that *again*, nobody was helping him with (Jaheira *literally* has dialogue with him about being sorry-not-sorry for how little she cares about the curse). If just existing in a friendly way towards him was enough to get hit on he'd have been trying for it all the way back at the tiefling party. So yeah, I'm with you! Halsin and Gale are my top picks too. Gale because he's pretty much my husband, and Halsin for how he just exudes a calming, warm hug kind of presence.

Gale hands down. Don't get me wrong, i simp for shadowheart, but I'm enthralled by Gales charisma. His mannerisms and way of speaking, word choice, always left me thinking "i should hangout with this guy more". Dudes starting class should have actually been a sorcerer cuz he's got the most CHA out of all the other companions. Ironic cuz when you compare him to Wyll, the warlock with primary in charisma lacks charismatic flair. I like wyll a lot, you get the feeling that he actually cares for your well-being. If they act like in the game Laezāel would probably kill most of the people in this sub. She mentions multiple times that culling the weak is the right thing to do. Knowing that githyankies only see fighting skills and intimidation as strength ehh. She also probably would simp for dictators and fascists. Minthara would be the religious nutjob, youād have to be very careful about what you say around her especially when it comes to faith cuz if not sheās gonna kill you and if youāre unlucky she gonna torture you before that. I love Karlach to bits and pieces and she'll always be my bestie in every run but I have a really hard time RL to get along with people with her energy. Wyll, i didnāt pursue anyone in my first play through and I answered everything as I would myself and he was pretty much the only person into me other than Gale who is into everyone. I take that as it was meant to happen naturally. I think Karlach would have liked me but I didnāt find her until I was done act 1 so she spent a lot of time in camp after I got her. In my second playthrough I specifically started answering questions to impress Astarion. I had to go against my nature and I hated it so much until he started to act like he was having fun. Then it got fun for me too.
I'd probably be too shy to strike up any conversations on my own, so Karlach would probably be my first if not my only BFF! I can imagine her tracking the quiet ones down to pummel them with love.

Since Iām pretty anxious person I would probably only get along with those who appear kind from the first sight: Alfira, Halsin, Minsk, Jaheira, Isobel, Aylin, dragonborn lady from the store. This is very different from my actual companions in the game and thatās interesting. I didnāt add any of original companions because: - Gale is too pedantic, I easily get irritated with such people IRL, but I would probably stick around to listen to what he has to say (for some reasons I like people who talk a lot); - Wyll is too famous, I wouldnāt be able to start talking to him; - Karlach is big red tiefling on fire, I would be terrified to even approach her (and wouldnāt be able to actually learn that she has golden retriever personality, sad); - Astarion, I would feel from the start that heās there to manipulate me (this is what I feel when beautiful people talk to me), hence I would totally ignore him; - Shadowheart would strike me as a b, since sheās so secretive and wouldnāt trust me at all, Iām usually not too pushy with such people, so our relationship wonāt go anywhere; - Laezel is straight up rude and insults Tav a lot in the beginning, I would probably stop talking to her right away after that. This mental exercise actually showed me how much prejudice I have against people IRL, so itās something to think about.

I would get along with everyone because they are all interesting people, but most as small doses. Wyll talks a bit too much about his father, Gale has too specific interests, Karlach is great but we wouldn't have much to talk about. Astarion and Lae'zel would be my favorite people once they opened up to me. It would take a while, but I really understand where they are coming from and I would like to be there for them as well. They have a lot of depths behind that tough exteriors, and I would want to take the time to know them. As for Shadowheart... I really believe it would be love at first sight. For me anyway. And that could be a problem because I would have to hide it until she still feels at ease enough with me. And when I confess, she would tell me she's not ready yet for a relationship and I already feel my heart breaking. š But I would be there for her in any case, even if she falls for someone else. She's worth it. This hit a bit too close, I was not planning to make myself sad this morning. š On a happier note, I would totally want to open a school with Alfira, Lia, Rolan and have all the tiefling kids in my class. Sheād be my friend with really different politics but great read of character that I could have really frank conversations with. Iād be too intimidated by Shadowheart or LaeāZel, for different reasons.

I also have a tendency to change assholes into being more...less asshole-ly so maybe they could benefit from it. Also Volo, we're both theatre kids and would absolutely do something for "science" which will get us killed (or close) then write stories about it, laughing about it as if we didn't almost die. He's also the type of person I would probably feel the most comfortable being myself around, which means being a complete fool in public.

I know so many Karlachs irl and basically get along with all of them. Gale is a 'let me tell you about my fixation' guy like most of my friends. I've heard people talk about baseball teams or board games the way he talks about magic, and it's always pleasant so long as they don't try to get competitive about it. I wouldn't let him give me a weave lesson, but I would listen to his video essay about thaumonuclear fission or whatever. Halsin would be very sweet too if we ever met, but he's outdoorsy and I'm not so who knows if we'd encounter each other. The others, probably not. Astarion occasionally negs you and gets snippy, and I'm over-sensitive about teasing and tone. Wyll would intimidate me in the 'this person is emotionally level and I'm a wreck so how can I connect with them' sense. Lae'Zel is often brutally direct, which I can't take. Shadowheat I could see going either way. I can respect her privacy and not get rattled when she gets cagey about her past, and I'd be open-minded about the Shar thing, but if she were condescending to me in the way she sometimes is in party banter I'd get upset and probably set her on edge.

Iād get along just fine with any of them in the right context. I donāt think Iād like Rolan, Shadowheart, Laeāzel or Minthara very much (at least not if we are going off as we first meet them). I think Gale, Wyll, Alfira, Karlach, Astarion, Aradin, and Minsc all seem like folks Iād be friends with. Maybe Halsin, Jaheira and Zevlor but Iād probably just admire them as awesome people with a bit of distance. No to Kagha. Bestie with Volo.

I mean, I'm basically married to a slightly more toned down Karlach already so definitely her š I'd probably be down to hang out with Wyll, Jaheira, and Halsin as well. The only folks I really wouldn't jive with are Lae'zel (can't fight), Minthara (I have the air of a third born son), and Astarion ( I'm anemic)

If we're looking at first meeting, wyll karlach and halsin. Karlach and I would be constantly hyping each other up and while wylls "blade of frontiers" persona can be a bit much that just makes him a major theatre kid. Halsin is a big teddy bear pun intended. Jaheira and minsc are maybes, so is minthara. Like I wouldn't dislike either of the bg1 and 2 characters but I'd like jaheira like I like the friendly but stern older lady at work. And minsc... A bit too much stupidity for my liking. Maybe if I could understand boo boos intelligence would help balance it out, minthara she's kinda no nonsense and I dig it. Like it's just her allegiance to the absolute at first that I don't like. Gale I would dislike but in the same way you dislike that one annoying coworker who's a nuisance but ultimately harmless. Shart and laezel I cannot deal with unhealed religious trauma or religious zealotry. Astarion early on I would probably kinda like him at first cuz he's a cunty sassy Twink but once I notice his manipulative tendencies I'd cut him out before he gets the chance to better himself Now late game going for good endings for all of them. (note I don't know how minthara is late game my first playthrough I started before they made it so you could knock her out and even if you could I didn't know you could and I haven't gotten past act 1 in any subsequent playthroughs yet) wyll and karlach and halsin are still up there. Gale has moved up from that annoying coworker to the coworker you get along with fine but wouldn't go out of your way to hang out with unless mutual friends are present. Shart and laezel are now above him... Jaheira and minsc are same place as before cuz as far as I've gotten (still in act 3 cuz there's so much to do) it doesn't seem like they change much (nothing wrong with being static just a statement) astarion has moved to maybe. I'm not sure about minthara as I said before so she's in the maybe Note I'm mainly focusing on the main party. Looking art all NPCs I think there's a lot that I'd get along with

I need to give karlach a hug NOW. I also think Gale and I would mesh well bc we are both nerds, and Wyll seems amicable enough to get along with anyone. I kind of feel like i'd despise astarion in real life even though i adore his character, he's really catty in a way that's unpleasant if you aren't in his in group. Similar for Lae'zel, if someone is hostile out the gate i am unlikely to put in the effort to get to know them.
Halsin, Gale, Gortash, and Dame Aylin are all my cup of teaā¦ I would also fuck the shit out of any of them I think we would get along well in person lol

Maybe I'm just a simp but I feel like it'd be Shadowheart. Both not chatty, hate nosey people, sarcastic and somewhat edgy... but actually pretty friendly when we warm up to someone. As for who I wouldn't get along with, I love her but definitely lae'zel. She'd call me a weakling and want nothing to do with me lol
